message 95: by Starbubbles, event coordinator type person (new)

1476867 i normally have no clue who writes what, so don't feel bad.

hi stalker girl!

1964386 hiiiiiiiiiiiii

wow i havent posted in a while

message 93: by Alexandra, Nanette~~ (new)

1603926 I guess I just don't really pay attention, oh well.

message 92: by Starbubbles, event coordinator type person (new)

1476867 lol! i know! it's like i have to do a double take at the author for it to register.

message 91: by Alexandra, Nanette~~ (new)

1603926 yeah, I swear some series that totally WERE not clamp before are suddenly..haha...guess my eyes were just opened up.

message 90: by Starbubbles, event coordinator type person (new)

1476867 they have so much! it's kind of tough to remember all of them!

message 89: by Hylian Princess , Hylian-Chan (new)

1519857 If you find any that are Clamp, let me know. I always read their books. I think there is this other series that I don't have posted that I saw at the library but never got around to reading.

message 88: by Alexandra, Nanette~~ (new)

1603926 haha well at the library I totally would, but they never have the first of a certain series..

message 87: by Starbubbles, event coordinator type person (last edited Oct 28, 2009 08:09PM) (new)

1476867 i searched clamp a while back. clamp seems to come in clumps at the bookstore. so lately i've picked up a ton of clamp. but for a long time there really wasn't much in there. when i get around to it, i'll put up the other books. maybe someone has read the series and not realised it was clamp. that has totally happened to me. haha

message 86: by Alexandra, Nanette~~ (new)

1603926 er...sorry, I'm not an major avid fangirl of clamp, so I'd prob. not know.

message 85: by Starbubbles, event coordinator type person (new)

1476867 i think with the "tokyo babylon" section, we have just about all of the clamp series published in english in here. i think there are like 3 more clamp school series in english, but that's just about it. does anyone know of any others we should have a discussion over?

message 84: by Alexandra, Nanette~~ (new)

1603926 they are v. annoying, document based questions where you get a topic question and 9 documents, and you make a paper on it answering the questions incorporating all of the said documents. they take a long time for me, which is bad, because I'm going to have to figure out how to do one in 50 minutes.

message 83: by Starbubbles, event coordinator type person (new)

1476867 dbq?

message 82: by Alexandra, Nanette~~ (new)

1603926 haha yeah, we have to do DBQs for ap world history, and you have to evaluate point of view, because everyone has one.

message 81: by Starbubbles, event coordinator type person (new)

1476867 everyone has biases, that can't be helped. but i agree, it's hard to be openminded enough to evaluate your bias.

message 80: by Alexandra, Nanette~~ (new)

1603926 But ever had that feeling that it is hard NOT to be that way? it's very hard not to be biased in any way at all.

message 79: by Starbubbles, event coordinator type person (new)

1476867 yeah, very true.

message 78: by Alexandra, Nanette~~ (new)

1603926 haha yeah. people have a habit of seeing what they want to believe, not what they really see.

message 77: by Starbubbles, event coordinator type person (new)

1476867 true. though sometimes it's funny when they take things out that really happened because they think the public won't believe that it really happened that way.

message 76: by Alexandra, Nanette~~ (new)

1603926 yeah, some things are stranger than fiction. haha! love that movie.
hollywood will always take some liberties, but you have to give them a break. it's a different media, so it will come out differently.

message 75: by Starbubbles, event coordinator type person (new)

1476867 true. though, it's true of anything aimed towards entertainment. sometimes it's a shame. real life stories are some times better than the made up ones.

message 74: by Alexandra, Nanette~~ (new)

1603926 yeah, I mean, I take what I learn from avatar with a grain of salt, because they obviously had to make it entertaining.

message 73: by Starbubbles, event coordinator type person (last edited Sep 11, 2009 09:37PM) (new)

1476867 that's good to know. sometimes it's hard to know what all is made up when you aren't too knowledgable about certain subjects.

message 72: by Alexandra, Nanette~~ (new)

1603926 haha we never got that channel, if you can believe it...
but avatar is suprisingly accurate to Buddhist/Asian tradition...I learn a lot from it...and not just the stupid jokes Sokka tells all the time =]

message 71: by Starbubbles, event coordinator type person (new)

1476867 uh, avatar is awesome. though i only ever watch it with my sisters. i was once so bored i saw likw 4 hours of degrassi. awesome theme song, but a really weird group of kids.

message 70: by Alexandra, Nanette~~ (new)

1603926 hey! that happens to be an awesome show.

1964386 LOL

~laughs too hard and falls out of chair~

message 68: by Alexandra, Nanette~~ (new)

1603926 ...wow...well, I was watching avatar the last airbender last night, so I guess I can't exactly talk..haha.

1964386 lol...last night

i was on goodreads three in the morning and i was so bored i could swear i was bored enough to read twilight again..........

message 66: by Alexandra, Nanette~~ (new)

1603926 ^.^
bwahhaha. if you did I would be a bit weirded out, true.

message 65: by Starbubbles, event coordinator type person (new)

1476867 it's a boring kids' movie. i really wouldn't recommend it.

message 64: by Alexandra, Nanette~~ (new)

1603926 dot and the whale.....haven't seen it haha.

message 63: by Starbubbles, event coordinator type person (new)

1476867 i don't think i could read it, even if i was bored. i'd rather watch "dot and the whale" again, and let's face it, that movie blew.

message 62: by Hylian Princess , Hylian-Chan (new)

1519857 aw, that's true

1964386 oops, i left out a word

i meant i would only reccomend twilight if you are positivly bored

message 60: by Hylian Princess , Hylian-Chan (new)

1519857 haha that's interesting. maybe I'll read one some day.

message 59: by ThatStalkerGirlBehindYouWhoIsAlsoACreeper (last edited Aug 31, 2009 05:23PM) (new)

1964386 i reccomend it to anyone who likes vampire romances...i would only reccomend twilight if you are only and positively bored

1964386 hmmm, its basically ten seperate books called the night world series

night world isnt a place its a society that is around us. there are vampires, werewolves, witches, and shapeshifters. and there are two main rules for people from night world

1) not to let humans know about night world
2) not to fall in love with humans

and basically the ten books of night world are about what happens when the rules get broken

its kinda a series, but then kinda not
each story is about a different couple, but they're all about the same thing

message 57: by Hylian Princess , Hylian-Chan (new)

1519857 I have not read that. Is it a lot like Twilight?

1964386 yah, twilight was ohkay

but yah know, the idea of twilight wasnt very original

has anyone here read night world??? lj smith wrote that series in the 1980s

message 55: by Hylian Princess , Hylian-Chan (new)

1519857 I liked Twilight and all, but Harry Potter was far better

1964386 yah, but what REALLY bugs me is that when people who have only read twilight say twilight is better than harry potter, even though they havent read it before

and im all like what the fosho!?!?!?

message 53: by Alexandra, Nanette~~ (new)

1603926 ohmigosh those will be amazing.
but see, the twlight series got people who don't like to read to read, if you know what I mean.

message 51: by Hylian Princess , Hylian-Chan (new)

1519857 yeah, its a very detailed book

message 49: by Starbubbles, event coordinator type person (new)

1476867 oh, that makes sense. there just isn't any possible way to not leave anything out and still have it be a reasonable length
