1275626 I'm one of those that really don't care for the Gay theme in my books.... However, it's kinda like the TV issue... If You Don't Like It, Then Change The Channel!!!!!
Or Are You 2 Stupid 2 Get Up Off Your Bum or Look For The Remote????

2686906 I'd like to think so too. And I really hope it will be true some day. But I fear there will always be stupid and narrow minded people around.

Like the racist who spoke these unforgettable words: "I want to move to a country that doesn't accept foreigners."

1229414 I so love Baby Be-Bop. It was my favorite of the Weetzie Bat series. It just make me so angry that people could be so hurtful and hateful. I wonder if the human race will ever wake up to the fact that hate is wrong and not what Jesus wanted.

1313648 Oh good grief! When is such stupidity going to end? I'm glad to see that the library didn't bend, but that they should have to confront such a thing to begin with is just plain sad.

1059653 A group is actually asking for a library to *burn* a book it doesn't approve of. (It's a book with a homosexual theme, of course.)

I thought book-burning was a spur-of-the-moment act done by extremists wrapped in the emotion of the moment, influenced by mass-mentality. But this is a group who has specifically asked for the books to be burned. Criminy!

On a positive note, the library board didn't kowtow to the people decrying the book and the community came out in support.
