603238 Feel free to keep Tweeting, even if you miss the 24-hour window today! The idea is to get the message through eventually!

5 Okay, I tweeted too!

Jessica and I figured out that he does get the Tweet, however it's not in his feed until he replies.

Cheers,
E

83445 Elizabeth, I think that's what I did, and it's showing on my tweeted page and was showing up on my feed, but is not showing up in TP's stat page.

Help! ;-)

Edit: I'm not really a luddite; I love technology and don't generally have too many problems, although I do have my gaps in what I can do.

92508 So I didn't mess it up I just copied Otis' and then changed it a bit. But yours should have worked...where you on your homepage, and just typed in the what are you doing field and hit update? Cause that should have done it...I too am a luddite when it comes to twitter, other stuff no so much, twitter, yes.

83445 Mine definitely didn't work. My tweet (first one I've posted) shows at my profile and home page feed but not at the stats page Otis posted.

In my twitter's post message box I posted:

@terryandrob Please join the Goodreads Author Program. Neil Gaiman did! http://bit.ly/kIyBJ

Please tell me what I need to do to do it correctly.

Thanks for an help and sorry for being such a luddite.

92508 Sent my tweet out! And despite having been on Twitter for awhile it was only the second one I ever sent :P

83445 I guess that I did it, and it's still not too late in England; he might see it.

Edit: Maybe I didn't. My invite isn't showing at the stats, only from my own Twitter page. What did I do wrong?

Sorry; I'm obviously very new to Twitter.

message 7: by Lisa (new)

83445 Ok. Thanks Otis. I'll try it again.

message 6: by Otis (last edited Jun 29, 2009 11:52AM) (new)

1 I tweeted it!

BTW: You can also see stats here: http://bit.ly/info/kIyBJ

1 You can use the reply (@username) to anyone on twitter - you can only direct message (d username) people who are following you.

message 4: by Lisa (new)

83445 Has anybody figured out a way to do this if the Twitter members aren't following each other's tweets? Thank you.

83445 I am confused. I just joined Twitter a week ago and it's almost 6/29 where I am and it's morning in England where Terry Pratchett is, but the only way I see to send someone on Twitter a private message is if you're following each other's Twitter feeds. What am I not understanding about these instructions? I can try

@terryandrob Please join the Goodreads Author Program. Neil Gaiman did! http://bit.ly/kIyBJ

and see if it sends.

By the way, Terry Pratchett is following Neil Gaiman on Twitter, and he's also following Jasper Fforde, another author we were considering for this group invite.

603238 A reminder for all you Twiitter folks to send an invite tweet to Terry Pratchett tomorrow, Monday, June 29!

Post here to tell us if you tweeted!

603238 Hi everyone - Let's try something organized! And Sir Terry Pratchett is our first target.

If you have a Twitter account, send a Tweet to Sir Terry this coming Monday, June 29, any time during the day.

Here's his Twitter: http://twitter.com/terryandrob

And here's how:
@terryandrob + your personal message

Also, I created a shortened URL for Terry's author page on Goodreads, and I suggest you include this link at the end of your tweet:
http://bit.ly/kIyBJ

EXAMPLES:
@terryandrob You have thousands of fans on Goodreads. Please join! http://bit.ly/kIyBJ

@terryandrob I love your books! Please join Goodreads so I can follow your book news. http://bit.ly/kIyBJ

@terryandrob Please join the Goodreads Author Program. Neil Gaiman did! http://bit.ly/kIyBJ
