message 173: by Davis (new)

2160575 That would be a good idea.

message 172: by Davis (new)

2160575 He writes in aphorism, use's obscure words, and tons of historical refrences.

message 171: by Davis (new)

2160575 He is really hard to get into, he writes in a wild format.

message 170: by Davis (new)

2160575 He's an asshole, I'll give you that warning right now. I agree with some of his stuff, others of it, not so much.

message 169: by Davis (new)

2160575 I have Beyond Good and Evil, that is a really really good one of his.

1715064 Lauren, there is cybersex on here, lolz...well, maybe not in this group...yet! Mwahahah, jkjk

message 166: by Lauren, Thefragmentsofmyskullbegintofallonyourtonguelikepixiedust (new)

1867491 haha

There is a debate on cybersex here somewhere, but I am not sure where.

message 165: by Lauren, Thefragmentsofmyskullbegintofallonyourtonguelikepixiedust (new)

1867491 XD

Well, perfect solution.

message 163: by Lauren, Thefragmentsofmyskullbegintofallonyourtonguelikepixiedust (new)

1867491 lol. You can't get pregnant over the computer.XD

message 162: by Lauren, Thefragmentsofmyskullbegintofallonyourtonguelikepixiedust (new)

1867491 We have a 3000 post thread doing just that.

message 161: by Lauren, Thefragmentsofmyskullbegintofallonyourtonguelikepixiedust (new)

1867491 You have NO IDEA. Actually.

message 160: by Lauren, Thefragmentsofmyskullbegintofallonyourtonguelikepixiedust (new)

1867491 "Or maybe its just concerned parents who don't want their children listening to 16 year olds detail their active sex lives on an internet debate group, eh?"

Not our problem. We don't babysit their kids for them.

"If I were to have kids, I would just not want them to learn about sex from Davis and Kyle discussing their teenage sex lives on goodreads."

Ah, that gave me lulz.

message 159: by Davis (new)

2160575 I agree that the media is saturated with sex, but can you blame them? It's what sells, it's what people are interested in.

message 158: by Marley (new)

1715064 I don't think that they are very descriptive of it...now, put ur kid in Roleplay and he could learn something, lolz...

message 157: by Liz (new)

1321995 I agree. It is something kids should definitely be educated on. Sex is not a negative thing in the least, but I think it is too prevalent in society, the media, and now the web. I think most children are exposed to more than their parents know. If I were to have kids, I would just not want them to learn about sex from Davis and Kyle discussing their teenage sex lives on goodreads.

I agree. However, two things often happen.
1. parents don't know what kids are doing online
2. the parents don't know their kids are online in the first place (kids are smarter and sneakier than their parents think)

And website age limits don't mean a thing -- they are violated all the time.

message 155: by Marley (new)

1715064 Not if they're going to allow their child to be blind, and taken advantage of. A kid has a right to know, and they need to learn, if a parent isn't responsible enough to teach them, they should be able to search for answers to their questions.

Don't parents have the right to inform their children themselves?

message 152: by Jayda (new)

995786 Marley wrote: "They aren't being very good parents if they don't give you any information. I'd rather know now, then figure it out in another way..."

And if the parents don't let kids know what it is and talk to them about it before a certain age than it's their fault. But parents have a right to explain it themselves.

message 151: by Marley (new)

1715064 lolz, nice Paige, I'd raher learn about it from yall strangers actually... Mostly because I had a weird sex ed teacher...

I believe the site's limit is indeed 13.

But there are plenty of parents (that I know, even) that aren't computer savvy, don't have the time, or just don't know how to, or that they should.

message 148: by Jayda (new)

995786 Marley wrote: "You just said there's nothing wrong with sex, and then that kids shouldn't be talking about it?"

Parents should be the ones to explain sex to the children, not other children. I didn't know about sex until I was eight. Parents should be allowed to decide when they know. It's their right as guardians.

message 147: by Marley (new)

No, there is nothing wrong with sex.

1867491 And repress every human urge they can.
