Cherry Adair
Has anyone seen her website? Oh my! It's very neat, but I couldn't find a FAQ or reading order so that was a bummer...
I don't believe her email is working either because mine never seemed to go through. So, nice website, gorgeous characters for each book, but...
...maybe I missed the FAQ or book order.
Anyone?
Hey Kathrynn,
I tried to post this a couple of hours ago but was having computer problems so I'll try again...
I haven't visited Cherry Adair's website in a while so I can't remember if she lists the reading order of her books, but I'll try to help you out here. Start with:
*The Mercenary (Victoria & Marc)
the next 5 are about the Wright bros. & sister
*Kiss and Tell (Marnie Wright & Jake Dolan)
*Hide and Seek (Delanie & Kyle)
*In Too Deep (Tally & Michael)
*Out of Sight (A.J. & Kane)
*On Thin Ice (Lily & Derek)
*Hot Ice (Taylor Kincaid & Hunt St. John)
the next 3 are about T-FLAC's paranormal division, featuring the 3 Edge brothers:
*Edge of Danger (Gabriel & Eden)
*Edge of Fear (Caleb & Heather)
*Edge of Darkness (Duncan & Serena)
and finally her latest...
*White Heat (Emily Greene & Max Aries)
I really enjoyed the ones about the Wright brothers and sister the most, and you should really read them in order because there are some overlapping characters.
Now, I think I'm going to go check out her website, and take a look at those gorgeous characters again... :)
Cheryl
Cheryl,
Thank you so much!!!. I'm reading White Heat now and enjoying the heck out of it. Right now I have:
The Mercenenary
Edge of Danger
On Thin Ice
Edge of Fear
White Heat (almost finished)
I noticed throughout White Heat there are references to past events. It alludes to a bad member of the t-flac (also a member of the Black Rose)...
I was out running around (again) today and found two more: Hot Ice and Edge of Darkness. Ordered the rest...Yeah! Saw a Christmas Anthology with Cherrie Adair, but it didn't look to be part of the T-FLAC series and it wasn't rated very high, so I skipped it. Please let me know if it is a T-FLAC...thank you
No Kathrynn, If it's Red Hot Santa, I'm almost positive that's not a T-FLAC one.
Yeah, I don't want to ruin it for you about the Black Rose member/ bad T-FLAC operative...you'll fnd out soon enough...:)
Auntee, just finished White Heat. I liked it! I ordered the few in the series I was missing and I plan to read them in order. The author has a good sense of humor. I like that in a book.
"And the party was on." T-FLAC-y things to do.
Ha!
Do you know if Night Fall (coming Sep 2008) is going to be a t-flac?
It's interesting that Mercenary (book #1) was revised and reissued. Says it was extensively updated by the author. hmmm I have the updated edition.

Kathrynn, I have both copies of "The Mercenary" (had to buy the new one when I heard it was revised and updated but haven't read the new one yet!)
I don't know anything about "Night Fall" yet, but I imagine it will be a T-FLAC one, or at least one about the paranormal division of T-FLAC.
I'm going to check out her website and see what she says.
I saw that she has a paranormal "group." Looking forward to reading that! Her website doesn't have much on "Night Fall," yet; not even the book cover is ready...
One day, when you read the revised "The Mercenary" would you drop me a note about what changes you noticed. I'm just curious.
It's such a short book. She probably didn't realize it was going to be such a success when she initially wrote it and updated for "expansion" possibilities. That's my guess.
I'm going to put something in the "spoiler" section about "White Heat."
Hey Kathrynn,
I was just checking her website again tonight and she describes her upcoming books as 'the wizard T-FLAC trilogy--"Night Fall"(August), "Night Whisper"(Sept.), "Night Shadow"(Oct.). According to Amazon.com they list one of the books with the title "Night Secrets" (must be a title change on one of them)
She also has a novella coming out in July--it's in the anthology called "Rescue Me" with Cindy Gerard and Lora Leigh (I think). I think this will be just a regular T-FLAC story (not a paranormal).
About "The Mercenary"--I was just comparing the 2 versions. The original has 218 pages; the revised version has 250. So, 32 more pages, that's not a whole lot--I think her website says there was 100 more pages! I'll let you know what I think when I get to it... :)
Thank you for the info Auntee! Wonder what the wizard means. Magic?
I thought about grouping them in trilogies, but do you think it is just easier to see them in the series order: 1 thru whatever? Do you feel people will be able to "pick out" the trilogies because they seem to be fairly easy to ascertain?
What do you think, Cherry Adair reader that you are?
Oh, and a lot of book information is just plain wrong on Amazon: book covers, page numbers and series order, etc. Could be a name change, but I'd go with the author's info first. She may not have changed her title yet...have to wait N see on that book title. Please let me know if you happen to see her change the book title on her website. I'll try to check it, perodically, too.
Yeah, Kathrynn, the wizard (the Edge bros. ones) does mean magic. The Edge brothers all have special 'abilities'.I don't want to give anything away and ruin it for you!
It's best if you read them in order, especially the ones about the Wright brothers. The Edge brothers can be read separately from the others, but should follow in their own order (does that make sense?)
I think the hero in "Hot Ice" first appears in "On Thin Ice". Anyway, let us know what you think; I probably liked "In Too Deep" the best!
No to Darius and Lauren having their own book, but I do believe they are mentioned again in another book. For the life of me I can't remember which one though! They weren't mentioned in "White Heat", were they?
They need their own book!
I've never read Cherry Adair but I recently ordered THE MERCENARY and I have her anthology DATE WITH A DEVIL coming too. Does she write like Anne Stuart?
I'm not familiar with Anne Stuart. Sorry
Auntee?
I just finished Ms. Adair's, "Out of Sight" which is book #5 in the T-FLAC series it was okay. A lot of SAND and, interesting...er...camel scene. ;-)
Hi Eastofoz! I recognize your name from the Amazon board! I'm no authority on Anne Stuart because I only read one of her books so far--"Into the Fire"--which I really liked by the way. From what I've read and heard, Anne Stuart's heroes tend to be a little dark, really super bad boys--am I right? I'd compare Cherry Adair's writing more like Cindy Gerard or Suzanne Brockmann (if you're familiar with them)
Now I've got to go see what other Anne Stuarts I have buried in my closet and add them to my 'to read' shelf... :)
Hi Auntee!
I thought the "name" looked familiar :) Small world!
I have Gerard's TO THE EDGE and Brockmann "UNSUNG HERO" on my TBR pile. I have INTO THE FIRE on TBR too! Work is forever getting in the way of reading it seems!!...Stuart's boys (I've only read the ICE series so far) are very bad/dark heroes--you can't help but love them!
Hi Eastofoz,
I just pulled from my huge TBR stack of books "Black Ice", "Shadows at Sunset", and "Shadow Lover", all by Anne Stuart. I've been meaning to get to "Black Ice" for ages it seems, but more and more books keep piling up and then I forget what I have!
I do remember liking "Into the Fire" so I'm going to keep "Black Ice" out where I can see it so I don't forget about it again, and try to read it soon. So many books...so little time... :D
Hi Auntee
Thanks for the friend invite :)
I'd strongly recommend that you get the whole ICE series so you can just read read read without having to wait! BLACK ICE is good but it's gets WAY better after. Can't wait for FIRE AND ICE to be released in May. Enjoy!
Hi Eastofoz,
I took your advice and picked up the remaining 'Ice' books at my local used book store--now I'm all set for an 'Ice' marathon!
Hi Auntee
Don't forget to post either a review or as you go along so we can "chat" about the ICE books --if you can and feel like it that is :) How are you liking "Bastien Toussaint" --just his name makes me swoon! He reminds me of that French actor Jean Reno--he's no hot babe or anything but damn the guy is so "intense"....!!
Hi Eastofoz,
Haven't started them yet( I think they will be up next after I finish "Killer Secrets" by Lora Leigh). I do like that name though--very sexy! Will let you know how I'm liking them when I get to them, though. And now I'm going to look up Jean Reno... ;D
Yea Kathrynn! Go get 'em! This should bring back some memories for you about Alaska--hope you like this one! :)
Hi Auntee
Jean Reno looks like a sad puppy BUT when you see this guy act and speak in English or French--whoo hoo! Dammit he's good ;)
I read DANGEROUS GAMES by Lora Leigh and I really didn't like it so I'm hesitant to pick up another book by her. Have you read that one? If you have are the others the same?
Hi Eastofoz,
I'm going to take your word for it about Jean Reno being a good actor (because I haven't seen him in anything yet) however, sad puppy--YES! I looked him up, and don't laugh, but he sort of reminded me of Billy Joel! LOL
How does Anne Stuart describe Bastien's looks? I don't want to be thinking of Billy Joel when I read "Black Ice"! LOL
The 'Ice' books will probably be the next romantic suspenses I read after I finish "Killer Secrets" by Lora Leigh.
As far as "Dangerous Games"--it wasn't my favorite of the series (I've read them all). The hero was just so dominant (and kinky)! Actually, all Lora Leigh's heroes tend to be dominant alphas and sometimes kinky! I believe there's 5 books so far in the 'Tempting SEALS' series, and my favorite one (so far) is "Hidden Agendas". I'm about half way through the latest, "Killer Secrets", and it's pretty good. If you do continue with this series, just know that it is a continuing series, and it can get confusing if you read them out of order or wait a long time in between reads. (I'm kind of confused with "Killer Secrets" right now because I can't remember everything that happened in the previous books!)
So, to finally answer your question, yeah, they all are pretty much the same to some degree--dominant alpha males trying to take down a notorious drug lord. Hope this helps!
Sorry this is under the Cherry Adair topic--I should make a new one for Anne Stuart and Lora Leigh!
Hi Auntee
No, no, no! Jean Reno may sort of look like Billy Joel but he in no way looks like Bastien Toussaint who is one hot babe (at least the way I pictured him ;) What I meant was his intensity reminds me of Bastien--totally burns the screen and the pages!
I think I'll stay away from Lora Leigh's SEALS then. I don't really like those dominant types of books. Thanks for letting me know.
And trust me you won't see Billy Joel when you read BLACK ICE (lol!!)
I finished book #6 "On Thin Ice" and loved it! Nice, nice book with wonderful characters.
Marked it as one of my favorites! I enjoyed the dog interactions. I'm an animal lover!
I've enjoyed Linda Lael Miller's books a lot because of the animals she often includes. Anyone know of other authors that includes animals?
Glad you liked it Kathrynn--you've now run out of Wright bros./sisters!
I read a lot of Linda Lael Miller books (a thousand years ago) and I can't remember any animals (maybe I haven't read the right ones, or more likely my memory stinks!) Which ones have animals--give me a hint... :)
Off the top of my head, I can think of only one book that I've read with animals--Chasing Stanley by Deirdre Martin (good book). I'm sure there's been more...let me think about it...
Auntee,Maybe it wasn't Ms. Miller, but someone wrote books with an animal lover's theme. One of the McKettrick's (the one with the pink VW and the adopted dog), I thought it was one of hers that had a vet that "heard" animals. There was a wild horse and this vet "heard" the horse when it was injured....
Going to have to do some digging in my books and get back to ya. ;-) I probably have the wrong author in mind.
They do blurrrrrr together, don't they?
Kathrynn--
You are so right! When you read at the high volume that we do, it's hard to keep all the facts straight! Sometimes I can remember details from books I read 20 years ago, but can't remember what I read last week! lol
Anyway, I know that I've read some books with 'animal characters'--I'm just going to shake some cobwebs out of my brain... :)
Started reading Cherry Adair while on vacation last September. You know, I really enjoyed her. I have White Heat and it is next on my bookshelf, just too many great books to read! I think I fell in love with her books at about the same time as Suzanne Brockmann. Both are great authors.
You're right Lindsay--S.Brockmann and Cherry Adair go hand -in-hand! Both are great storytellers with awesome heroes!
I just finished "Hot Ice" book #7 in the T-FLAC series and enjoyed the heck out of it! Great characters! I'm on to start the Edge trilogy now.
I'm reading the first Edge Brother's T-FLAC book now. It's a paranormal and, right now, it hasn't quite hooked me in. Hoping it picks up REAL fast.I think I'm "paranormaled" out. :-)
For me, these weren't as good as the other T-FLAC ones, but I thought maybe it's because I'm not a huge paranormal fan. Hope you can stick it out. One of the books was much better than the other two, but for the life of me I can't remember which one it was! (I know that helps a lot, huh?) :D
Just finished the last T-FLAC book, Edge of Darkness. I read "White Heat" first, liked it and Auntee provided the reading order, so now I've read them all.I recommend the series. Romantic Suspense. The Edge Trilogy (8,9,10) were paranormal with wizards (male and female).
The first book wasn't very good, but the second book is where the series really got going for me.
I've just finished the T-FLAC/Edge Bros. series and loved it. I alternated reading T-FLAC hunks with Leigh's Tempting SEALs hunks. It took everything in me to avoid throwing some of Stuart's Ice series into the mix.
My first Cherry Adair book is actually on my keeper shelf and I wonder if anyone else has read it. It's an early Blaze title, TAKE ME.
He marries her so he can produce a marriage certificate and claim his inheritance, then leaves her on the courthouse steps. Seven years later, she wants to have a child and becomes his mistress to get pregnant by her husband (he doesn't know who she is). He falls in love with her and starts looking for his wife so he can divorce her and marry his mistress!
It's a GREAT story. Tissues definitely needed for the office and Christmas tree scenes...
Colleen
I read/have "Take Me", Colleen--that WAS a good one! You summed it up nicely--really jogged my memory there (which needs to be jogged often)! :)
AUNTEE: Glad I could rattle your cells for you. The Christmas tree scene is one of those that is so unique, it haunts me.
Adair is one of those authors who can write tightly enough to put depth in 250 pages or less!
But I'll be forever grateful to you for turning me on to the T-FLAC hunks!
Colleen
Colleen--Did I do that(with the T-FLACs)? Well, you're welcome! :) Did you also check out her website and SEE them? Seeing is believing, huh?
Of course, I think you're trying to torture me--you knew I wouldn't remember the Christmas tree scene! I have now dug out "Take Me" from my Cherry Adair box and am desperately looking for the Christmas tree scene...
I'm just wondering...is my memory that bad or is everyone else's that GOOD? I want to know how you guys can remember all these scenes from books you've read from (I'm guessing)long ago! I think maybe I've read too many books and they're jumbling my brain (that's my excuse anyway)!
By the way, who's your favorite (if that's possible to choose) T-FLAC hunk? :D
Okay, I just read the Christmas tree scene and it all came flooding back (literally)! (sniff)
I would definitely recommend this one to any Cherry Adair fan!
AUNTEE: Have I seen Adair's website. LOL I've got a live link to it in the harem! Okay, here, too...
Cherry Adair's Website
Click on the "Profiles" link on the horizontal top menu bar.
Favorite? No. I'll take all 11! Well, okay there's a short list of those that could make me sweat at first sight:
Gabriel Edge, Huntington St. John, Michael Wright, Kyle Wright, and Marc Savin...
BTW, I also have a live link to Alison Kent's SG-5 guys. I've never been a fan of tats, but Mick Savin (heavy sigh). The models for Christian Bain and Ezra Moore work for me, too.
Okay, I'll link that here, too.
Alison Kent's Files of SG-5
Click the play button to view their slide show.
Ah, well. To heck with Disney's idea of Fantasyland.
Colleen
For all you Cherry Adair fans, she has an awesome new website which I just visited. Lots of cool stuff, pictures, videos, book excerpts, etc. Actually, almost too much to take in at one time!:)
Thanks for the info, Auntee. I just popped over and looked around and it is very nice. She sure goes all out.Popped to look through her books on this Site and saw several books by various spellings of her name, last name first, etc and identical titles already here were re-created by newbies, so I got waylaid into fixing that mess.
Wew!
