'Let the Snog Fest Begin!' Georgia Nicolson's Guide to Life and Luuurve
I have only read the first and begun the second in this series, but Georgia is so funny, charming and realistic I know I will be reading the entire series if I can get my hands on it.
These are great books when you need a laugh or a little pick me up. Any thoughts?
She is soooo kooky! I could totally relate to her. She had be laughing out loud and I think I even snorted once or twice... but don't tell anyone. ;-)
My daughter loved the first one so much, that she bought several all at one time. I only read the first one but it was fun reading and laughing w/ my daughter over Georgia's crazy comments.
My daughter just started reading it a couple of days ago. We like to lay in my bed together for a little while in the evening and read, and she was howling with laughter. I mean almost falling off the bed with it! I have bought the first 5, but want the others too.
I read the first one and enjoyed it, and I have all the rest of them on my TBR list. I agree with Kandice: I think these books make great light and funny reading. As soon as I'm done with the challenge I plan on reading the rest of them.
Ha! Love it! I love when people get wrapped up in books and show emotions from it - whether it be laughing or crying. My daugther has cried from several books. It's just awesome that she gets so emotionally invested and that books touch her in that way. It's great!
I was so happy to hear her sweet little laughter, but I love it even more when she is moved to tears. If my child can cry at a characters sorrow or death in a book, I feel she will be a more sympathetic person in life too:)
I completely agree... that is so true, Kandice. Sounds like we have some sypatheic and sweet girls! How lucky we are!
These book are so funny. I have read the whole series so far and I reread the ones I own. They make you laugh out loud and Georgia's teenage angst is too familiar. I can't wait until my girls are old enough to read them and appreciate Goergia's escapades.
I read the first one last night...I meant to just start it before bed...but it was such a quick read and I couldn't put it down!
Kandice, I have a question...how come On the Bright Side, I'm Now the Girlfriend of a Sex God Further Confessions of Georgia Nicolson and It's OK, I'm Wearing Really Big Knickers! are both listed as Book #2?
oh...and I just noticed the 10th and (it says) final installment of the series comes out in September.
Yes, I think they are the same. I guess the knickers title refers to Jas, but the one I have is called On the Bright Side...either way, she never gets any less funny or realistic. I am almost afraid she'll grow up a bit in 10 books, and I don't really want that!
I just ordered all of these off of Amazon and I am patiently awaiting there arrival... tres excited!!
I heard about these and read a "browse this book" excerpt. I laughed out loud through the whole thing. A couple weeks ago I bought a volume that contains the first two books and am looking forward to it.
I love Georgia Nicholson, and yes, book 10 is her last, it was just put out in the UK, it will be released here in October. Also some of them do have different titles UK/US editions, I think mainly because they don't think we'll get the joke when the title is too "British." Personally I'm hoping that now we are done with the teen years we might get some books set later on, a la Adrian Mole.
I finished book 1 today. It was soooo freaking hilarious!!! I loved Libby, Georgia's little sister, especially all her little comments. Like when she told the boy that her sister made a poo in the morning...LMAO!!! I can't wait to finish the rest of the books : )
Glad you're enjoying, personally, if I HAD to choose a favourite, it would be Angus, but that's only if I was forced to...
I have read the first four so far and I also LOL when Libby told the Sex God that Georgia made a poo!! I am really enjoying the series.
I have realized that these are books you should never read in public, because they are so funny that I actually start laughing out loud and then people just stare and think something is wrong with you... =)
I'm still working on the series...I finished book 7 last week. I'm at the point when I read this out in public that I don't care. Sometimes people around me ask what's so funny & I just read them the passage...then they understand : )
I just finished the 2nd book in this series. I was laughing so hard I woke up my husband who was sleeping next to me. I love Georgia making fun of Po and Hunky, everytime she said that I just died.
I am going to try really hard not read these all at once so that I can make the series last a little longer.
I'm going to start book 8 in the series tonight and tomorrow...I can't wait to get into a laugh out loud book again!!!
I just finished the series last week... SO SO FUN! You know, I really loved her parents in the last book. I thought they were great. And the ending was so perfect for Georgia!
This really looks like fun! I'm putting the series on my to read. Yay, another find thanks to the Wild Things group.
