1515960 My husband gave me an alias, but I don't think anyone would take me seriously if I introduced myself as 'turtle-face bun-head'!

I read in super quick time, but I am bogged down reading seriously boring books for my research right now... so stuffy that you need to open a window when they're in the room just to be able to breathe. I will mention no names, but when I'm finished I am going to track the authors down and make them watch paint dry for four years... just to return the favour.

I so so so soooo want to throw them under moving cars (the books, not the authors!) and read something that will capture my imagination.

1877052 Dee, I envy anyone that reads and a good clip. I'm cold molasses s-l-o-w. And I half way through the first Twilight book! Should finish it before the end of July.

Ross, yes, yes, always good to have an alias. I just recently read an article where a guy got a phone call from Stephen King and by way of introduction Mr King said, This is Steve King. The guy was NO ONE knows you by "STEVE" KIng. Ha ha.

1216574 Hiya,

Yes. I do go by my middle name; I much prefer Ross. However, it is (sometimes) good to have an alias...you know who your friends are! And you guys are most definitely friends.

Ciao for now, ROSS

1457164 Hey Thersa,

Thank you so much for putting SOA on your summer "to-read" list, especially with so many great summer reads out there.

I know what you mean about too many wonderful books and not enough hours. I just finished a Harry Potter marathon (after reading the Twilight saga for the second time).

Right now I am reading Avempartha by our very own Michael Sullivan and Angels & Demons by Dan Brown :]

1877052 Ha, Ross, you're so cute. And I started calling you Ross after reading Beyond. Which do you prefer? Ross or Stuart? Curious.

And Dee, you're next in my stack of Good Read writers! Man, I wish I read faster. Right now I'm reading Twilight and Geraldine Brooks' new book at the same time.

1216574 Hey folks,

Seriously, you are the nicest people I have - NEVER - met! And the best, hardest working writers in the business...more than worthy of bestseller status. I can say that because I have read, reviewed and immediately became a fan!
Thank you, Stuart aka Ross

1457164 Hey Thersa,

I had the same experience when reading Ross' book, Beyond my Control One Man's Struggle with Epilepsy, Seizure Surgery & Beyond.

Once I started reading, I could not put it down. Canceled all my appointments for that day, turned off the telly, and never turned on my laptop :]

Now that is saying a lot...I didn't even do that when I was reading Harry Potter :]

1877052 Ha, that is hilarious Stuart. Happy Birthday Lucy. Ironically enough, I was reading the part in you book when she was born and you mentioned her birthday ON HER BIRTHDAY. I told myself I have to run downstairs, turn on the computer and Twitter her a Happy Birthday but couldn't put the book down to do so.

Sounded like a great party,

terrie

1457164 Woo Whoo! Party On Ross :]

message 16: by Stuart, Mod-Squad (new)

1216574 Dee & Gina,

The party is over and just so much fun! Our daughter Lucy had the time of her life!

I also have another serious contender for the (Guppy Award)...our miserable and annoying neighbour who called the police at 9:30pm.(Saturday night) for excessive noise! The police arrived and soon realized we were not breaking any laws. I enlightened the officers to your book Gina, and a correlation was immediately made! The (adults) at the party turned up the volume as they left!!!!

A great night for all...but one.Hee Hee

1457164 Gina, we are like "across the pond" soul-sisters :]

Sorry to hear about your roof removal, but nice to be able to share this experience with someone else. I hope you Internet connection will not be down for any length of time.

I can only imagine the wild party that Ross will be throwing while the girls are away :]

1515960 It's a great honour to join the moderating team of this great group of swell folks!

Dee, as someone who is also going to be having a large section of roof removed in a couple of months, I wish you lots of dry weather!

1457164 Hi Everyone,

An update to my previous notice!

As I am in the middle of a huge house remodel (the roof will soon be removed from my house) and over the summer, I will be without electricity for several days at a time...I felt the group could use additional moderators.

I have invited two members to join our group's Mod-Squad.

The first one to accept my invitation is my good friend and author of Beyond my Control One Man's Struggle with Epilepsy, Seizure Surgery & Beyond, Stuart "Ross" McCallum.

The second new member of the Mod Squad is another good friend and author of The Wonderful Demise of Benjamin Arnold Guppy, Gina Collia-Suzuki

Please join with me in welcoming "Ross" and Gina as our newest moderators :]
