Ok, so he hates reading. But he is taking a class right now all about reading in the schools and he has been talking about it alot recently. I figured now was the best time to try to get him to at least read one book.

However I have no idea what book that might be. So I will tell you all about him and you can help point me in the right direction :-)
1.) He is in school to be a band director
2.) He is 21
3.) Plays tennis
4.) Has been a waiter for 5 years
5.) Loves comedy

Any ideas or suggestion are welcome! Thank you in advance for any help.

Since he is into music..how about any books about his favorite musicians, composers, etc.

David Sedaris is pretty funny I think.

Is he into history or anything like that? Would he be willing to read fantasy books?

My boyfriend hates reading but I bought him a few biographies of his favorite sports stars and a book about basketball.

I think it would have to be fiction. Otherwise he will feel like he is studying.

there have been several books written by waiters like Waiter Rant Thanks for the Tip-Confessions of a Cynical Waiter and Service Included Four-Star Secrets of an Eavesdropping Waiter there are others those just popped up first. I haven't read them but they look funny and he might enjoy them if they don't feel too much like being at work.

Yeah, I was going to say Waiter Rant too. I've heard that it's really funny. Another book that guys really seem to like is I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell...
