1094032 I thought it might be nice if people listed what groups they belong to in goodreads. That way we have a decent chance of running into each other and we can recommend groups to join.

Personally I'm in:

SciFi and Fantasy Book Club.

We read two books a month, one Fantasy and one SciFi. Frequently we read a book written by a goodreads author and invite them to join in on the discussions. A pretty active group, expect postings daily, but very little off topic discussion. (People will talk about the latest Star Trek movie, but not about their kids or who won American Idol.)

881573 Hi Lara - I like your idea for this topic and think its great that your other book group selects some books written by goodreads' authors for discussion.

I belong to and enjoy most The Book Addicts! group. The group also selects books for discussion - usually every month - but the book topics and types are varied.

894072 What a good idea! Personally I'm a member of 20+ groups here, but I must say that I'm terribly guilty of lurking on most. Off the top of my head, the larger and more active ones are: 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die, Next Best Book Club, SciFi and Fantasy (Lara mentioned above), Paranormal Romance, Constant Reader, 100+ Book Challenge, and Book-A-Holics, among others (a full list is on my profile).

So if we bump into one another, feel free to say Hi! :)

~Peace
