3.

7. Un lieu incertain by Fred Vargas (not yet translated)
8. Un pape suisse - Coffret en 3 volumes Le manuscrit du Saint-Sépulcre ; La révélation de l'ange ; La prophétie du Vatican by Jacques Neirynck (not sure whether the trilogy has been translated into English)
9. The Post-American World by Fareed Zakaria
10. De brand van Istanbul by Jason Goodwin (The Janissary Tree A Novel)
Well, that was it for the books slowly piling up on my nightstand. I'll list some more once I've finished a few of these.
Oh, and I've recently finished L'Homme à l'envers by Fred Vargas (Seeking Whom He May Devour). A personal favourite.
Finished The Audacity of Hope Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream by Barack Obama.Interesting insights from a man full of ideals and hope. Will be interesting to reread it at the end of his presidency.
Just pre-ordered "Le Jeu de l'ange" by Carlos Ruiz Zafon (The Angel's Game). Will be out end of August. Gives me a chance to work on reducing my pile.
Want to read the Millenium series by Stieg Larsson, but can't make up my mind in which language to read it. Wish we had a bookstore that had a copy in French, English and Dutch; could read the first chapter of each translation and then pick the best. Any recommendations? How's the English translation?

I haven't read it yet but would go for the english version. I have a feeling Dutch would make it sound very calm and loose some of it feeling.
That's an interesting point, Jeane. I think I'll go to the library and read a few pages of the Dutch translation just to get an impression.
Couldn't wait to get started on Making History and glad I didn't cause I'm really enjoying it so far. Cathedral of the Sea is on hold for another few days.
I see I haven't updated this thread in a while. But to be honest I haven't done much reading; just been really busy with other stuff. However, I did manage some. Plus, I also have some book to add to my list, book I bought during my splurges at Waterstones in Amsterdam and the FNAC in Paris.11.
12. The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory
13. Beijing Coma by Ma Jian
14. Common Wealth Economics for a Crowded Planet by Jeffrey D. Sachs
15. Globalia by Jean-Christophe Rufin
16.
17.
18. L'Euphorie perpétuelle Essai sur le devoir de bonheur by Pascal Bruckner
19. L'obsession Vinci by Sophie Chauveau
20. Le Livre noir by Orhan Pamuk (The Black Book)
Since my last post, I've finished Making History and The Fire.
Yesterday, I started on La théorie des cordes (Zig Zag: A Novel) and can hardly put it down. Think I'm going to read some more now. (Ahhh... the leisure of being on holiday!)
21. Stone's Fall by Iain Pears (love, love, love Iain Pears)22.
23. Millennium The End of the World and the Forging of Christendom by Tom Holland
24. Charlotte Gray by Sebastian Faulks (this is usually not my genre but I thought I'd try something different)
Finished Zig Zag and started on The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mohsin Hamid.
