I hate Minerva too. But I think there are some possibilities with her. I think Artemis can teach her things. And it would be good for Artemis to have a friend his own age, that is the same intelligence level.

About Opal--I think it would be really cool if Colfer played more on the revenge/torture aspect of her personality. Artemis has really foiled her plans multiple times...I think it would be really, I don't know, scary or emotional or whatever if Opal somehow got payback and almost, like, broke his spirit, his motivation or his arrogance or whatever. It would be really sad though. If you've read The Wizard Heir than I think you'd know what I mean.

I think most people were thrown off by how abruptly she was added into the story, and then she kind of just left...and how, compared to Artemis, she didn't have the whole smart-AND-trying-to-save-the-world thing going on. When I was reading, I didn't like her, but I think now I do. Mostly because it looks like the whole Artemis/Holly thing isn't going to work out. :(
