569566 had no idea there was any "sudden acclaim" on this one. just thought it was a good read. liked the structure of it, too. it is pretty heavy, but it's funny. i thought it worked. i must be getting old because i was, like, touched or something. ha!

569543 I've been meaning to read this one.
I got kind of behind in January, so I'm working on it.

And for some reason I've been really skeptical about this book, and Eggers in general.
I don't really know why, other than he's all perfet or whatever.

569566 i'm 3/4 of the way through. is anyone else reading this?

569566 'bout half way through now. oof, this thing is hea-vy. sad, and yet eggers manages to inject some humor into it.

725318 Long AND depressing. Largely a part of why it's taking me so long to read it. It's a good book though.

569566 yeah, it's a little on the long side, almost 500 pages. plus...small type!

anyway, i'm almost 100 pages into it. 's pretty good so far.

569566 looks like i've been chosen to pick the february book of the month.

dave egger's 'what is the what' is my pick. here's some more info:

i like eggers. been a fan ever since 'might' magazine a zillion years ago. started reading it already and so far pretty interesting.

so, get to it, nerds!
