Ok so I have been a Janet fan for 3 years now and I am constantly searching for suggestions on books that other Janet fans read to fill the time between her new releases and re-reading the entire series. I love her style so much; the silly, complicated, funny, clutzy, mystery. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've read Tori Carrington's Sophie Metropolis series and it is good as a filler but only has 4 or 5 books in it. Please let me know what you suggest.

I have enjoyed Jennifer Crusie.
She has a few books in a series-called Welcome to Temptation. Also has several stand alones that I have thoroughly enjoyed.

I would suggest Miranda Bliss - she has 4 or 5 cozy mysteries out..very funny but good mystery also.

I love series books so there are a few that I keep up on. A new series for me is Stephanie Bond The series is the Body Movers. This author released books 4,5 and 6 in April, May and June. All three of these are really one long story but well worth the money.

Another good one is Lisa Lutz Spellman Series.

Jennifer Crusie wrote a book with Bob Mayer called 'Agnes and the Hitman' that's really cute and reminded me a lot of the Stephanie Plum series. I have yet to find anything else similar that's been any good though.

'Agnes and the Hitman' is one of my FAV books!(All of Jennifer Crusie's book have great wit, so if you haven't read any of her other stuff I highly recommend them -Some of the best are: 'Bet Me', 'Faking It', 'Welcome to Temptation', 'Crazy for You').

I do agree that there hasn't been an another author quite in the same vein as Evanovich though. No other series books have hooked me so well on the characters and situations, or made me laugh so hard.

I've read Jennifer's 'Getting Rid of Bradley' and liked it and I have a few other books by her that I'd like to read. My only issue with her is that I've noticed that her plots were rather similar to each other in the one's I've read. A friend of mine told me that she likes Jennifer Crusie's books too but has the same problem with them. I'm still going to try them out though.

I just read 2 of Hailey Lind's Art Lovers series. They are good as well.

It's a YA book, but I thought The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins was excellent. It is more suspense than mystery, but still worth the read. The second in the series comes out in September.

Another book that I liked was Hissy Fit by Mary Kay Andrews. It is more of a romance, but it is funny too.

I really liked 'Hissy Fit' by Mary Andrews too, and it hooked me into reading all of her books.

I agree that if you like Janet Evanovich Jennifer Crusie books are perfect for you. Also all of Susan Elizabeth Phillip books are FANTASTIC

In recent interviews and Q&A's she has stated she doesn't have the time to read anything but Scrooge McDuck comic books!?!?

I am having Plum withdrawals. The waiting is too much to handle.

If you haven't already listened to the audiobook versions of the Plum books, I highly recommend the listening experience to stave off the reading withdrawal. :)

I have all but 2 of the series in audiobook and I listen to them constantly! I start at the beginning, listen to 'One for the Money' and on up through to 'Finger Lickin Fifteen', hop on over to the in-between-the-number novels (and sometimes I take a leap over to the Barney series). And when I've listened to them all....so much time has passed since the first one that I start it all over again.:) I'm addicted!

I found a cute series to read that starts out with Sex, Murder and a Double Latte. It is not Janet but if it fun

When I am not reading JE I am usually picking up a James Patterson, Patricia Cornwell, Lisa Scottoline, or Harlan Coben, to name a few. I like to mix it up so I don't get bored with one series of books or have to wait around too much for the next one to come out.

I have a really hard time with the books on CD, I find that they take too long and I am not really one for going back and re-reading too many books. I will do it every now and then but it has to be a really good book or for a specific purpose.

Marti-I have just finished the fourth in the Sex, Lies, and Double Latte series and they are fun.
I found this book just perusing the shelves at the library and this was really remimiscent of JE-Since You're Leaving Anyway, Take Out the Trash. This is set in a small town, where everyone know everyone and the cast of characters are HILARIOUS!!! There are not many books that make me literally laugh out loud-this was one of them.

I love reading Robert Crais...I read on Janets Q & A that he is one of her favorite authors to read. I am reading them in order and on Indigo Slam #7.
Love Elvis Cole and Joe Pike (Crais' characters).

I also LOVE Robert Parker's Jesse Stone series and Sunny Randall series.

Janet reads Betty and Veronica and Donald Duck comic books. Junie B. Jones by Barbara Park is another favorite. And the books stacked at bedside include Amanda Quick, Nora Roberts, Elmore Leonard, Robert Crais, Robert Parker, and Ridley Pearson (if she's feeling brave).

I have just finished reading the J.D. Robb...In Death series. There weren't nearly enough of those either--now I am not only awaiting the next Evanovich, but I am awaiting the next Robb.

I found all of the Kyra Davis books and loved them! I have never read the other book you mentioned and I will add it to my TBR books - Thanks Leslie.

I enjoy Joanne Fluke, her writing is very similar to Janet and her characters are similar to Stephanie where she is in love with two men and can't decide which one to be with.

I read many different kinds of books, but I've never really found a mystery type serious that is as great as this one.
