2149601 Kasia, I picked for Melissa in May...I don't mind picking for her again if she doesn't...what do you think Melissa? :O)

(just in case, I'm wracking my brains for another great author...)

1401146 Lara, I'm so glad you enjoyed Minion! I was nervous as well. I trust your judgement and I'll pick your favorite For One More Dayby Mitch Albom. Thanks!

YZ, you have got sooo many books! It seems like you've read almost everything.I've decided to pick Wake by Lisa Mcmann. It's pretty good and has a very original storyline. Enjoy :)

Sounds interesting, Keyona. Hope it's not too scary, just sort of thrilling...coz, i'm one scaredy-cat..LOL.

I've ordered it from the library already, and keeping my fingers crossed that I will get to it before June ends, because there are 9 holds on it.

Looking forward to reading it.

Sorry for that, and no problem.

**rearranges stuff**

Ok so now you'll be picking a book for Lara. And Valerie's got Melissa. All good?

1670525 Wow Melissa, most of the books I thought of for you, based on your obvious enjoyment of PNR, are already on your TBR list. Why haven't you read the BDB books yet? All of the hype hasn't convinced you that it is the best series EVER?

Anyway, based on some of the other books we have in common, I think you will enjoy The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson. I really loved this story and I hope you will too.

message 56: by Melissa (new)

325271 My problem is that I actually own the books. For some reason, when I have a purchased book sitting on my shelf it collects dust while I borrow and borrow from the library! It's like some kind of medical condition that has yet to be named! I own over 200 books now because of all the pnr recommendations and I don't spend enough time actually reading them. PNR and Urban Fantasy are my faves and that's why I spend my money one them, but I'm just as addicted to going to the library.

I have seen The Gargoyle in some of these threads and it's been on my mind to look for it, so I'm sure it will be a great choice for me.

Hope you like it."

Hi Mel - nothing like making me read something! I've tried in the past, but this will give me incentive - fingers crossed I get it in time! There's quite a waiting list at the library.

1401146 Don't worry, I'm a scaredy cat as well and it's not scary at all but a very original read. I hope you like it :)

2149601 All good Kasia. :O)

Hi Lara! I just took a quick look over your shelves (it's getting into the month now and I know how I hate waiting) and I don't see that you've read any Susan Sizemore. She's a wonderful author and I think you'll enjoy her series beginning with I Burn for You.

If that doesn't suit, let me know and I'll consider further. :O)

I just looked it up and can't wait to get my hands on it. It got some great reviews from other goodreads members. Yay!

1504904 So I've just finished Don't Look Now. It was so much fun. Fast paced with plenty of corpses and solid amount of hot sex... I liked it!

Thank you, thank you, thanks you Melissa! You really did a good job with that recommendation. Now I'm of to hunt a copy of Automatic Detective, keep your fingers crossed and maybe I'll find one.

message 62: by Melissa (new)

325271 I'm SO glad you liked it! I've liked everything else I've read by her, but this is what I started with. You'll have to read the other two in the series. I'm glad you're going to look for Automatic Detective, too, because that's one of my all time favorite books!

message 63: by Lara (new)

1352105 Melody, I started on I Burn for You last night. I am already hooked with only a couple of chapters read. I can't wait to get off work so I can go home and read it all!

message 64: by Lara (new)

1352105 Melody, Just finished I Burn for You and it was great. Completely addicting! Thank you so much for a great pick. Can't wait to continue the series!

message 65: by Michelle (new)

2183532 Yz, I loved Hotter After Midnight, Thankyou! It had a nice mix of acton/romance and it was an interesting world. I will continue with the series eventually, hopefully they will become easier to get over here. I'm intrigued now! lol.

message 66: by Yz (new)

434780 Glad you enjoyed the book, Michelle. I thought her clients' problems were hilarious...like the vampire who is scared of blood and the succubus who wants a meaningful relationship.

I haven't read the next book yet, but I plan to do soon.

message 67: by Michelle (new)

2183532 Yeah I was giggling a lot at that bit. I'm really hating the Richelle Mead books the now, it's put me off Succubus's but I was intrigued enough to want to know more! Depending on what new releases are out this month, I might buy book 2. My Hubby bought me Finger Lickin' Fifteen today so I'm happy!

325271 O.K. I have to admit defeat. I just could not get into The Gargoyle. The writing was decent, but it was not holding my attention at all. I just didn't seem to care about anyone and it was getting dull. I would read something else and then go back to it and ended up making it about half way through. I just couldn't force myself to finish it, though. I can see why it is popular, maybe I will try it again later. Thanks for the suggestion though. It did seem right up my alley.

I am so sorry that you weren't enjoying it. By all means - do not waste precious time on a book that you can't get into when there are so many good ones out there!

1910173 Sarah, thank you for picking Tiger Eye ;D I enjoyed characters of this book. I plan to next book in the series (solely) because of them (does Roland have a book? ;D). I have some doubts regarding consistency of the plot, but overall it was an entertaining read :)

123404 Hi Mel. Over the month I've been watching my name creep up the list at the library... I'm now 74th in the queue of 100! I started at 89...
So, I don't think I'll be able to get around to it this month - but I promise to post about City of bones in whatever month it arrives!

279845 Yay! I managed to finish my June pick BEFORE the month ended!

Michelle's pick for me was Tempting Danger by Eileen Wilks. Thanks for the pick, Michelle, I enjoyed it. I have never read this author before, so I got to read someone new. I enjoyed the plotting and characters very much, but the theory behind the magic in the story was a little fuzzy to me. All in all though, a decent read. I will probably finish out the series when I can.

Thanks again!

Glad you found it enjoyable. I like the characters very much in that one. I have the rest of the series sitting in my TBR pile, and I hear there is a new one coming out soon!

Glad you enjoyed it overall. It was my first time taking part so I was a little nervous!

1704330 Nancy! ohmygoshness - I finally got a hold of Trash Sex Magic by Jennifer Stevenson. Then, when I did get it, I bragged to my siblings/mother/friend about how funny, sexy, cool it was and then had to fight with them to get it back so I could finish it. Every time I popped it down I'd go back and it'd be gone. I'd then have to spend the next day or so tracking it down and taking it back...only to have it go AGAIN. FINALLY got to the end just late last night (30th June here) with no interruption. I'd have to definitely rate it as one of my top 5 quirky top picks for this year :-)

message 76: by Yz (new)

434780 Keyona,

I didn't get to read Wake because I was like the 7 out of 14 holds from the library, and was not able to receive it for the month of June

But I added it to my TBR list, and will read it as soon as I get my hands on it.

Thanks for the recommendation still.
