1838733 I won one book here recently and it is hopefully on its way to me. It took 17 entries before I got one though.

2387810 I kind of won. An author (or review blog - sorry, can't remember which) posted a note on Goodreads talking about a give away. I entered and won. They are mailing me the book.

I plan to read it and comment on it on here. I'm sure that's the whole point right?

I like getting free stuff ;-)

Jenna

894072 I've entered several giveaways myself, thinking "meh, I never win stuff, but what's the harm" and then promptly forgot all about them. Well I just got an enail today announcing that I've won my first one! I just love happy surprises... they're like little random gifts from the Universe "just because", and always seem to happen when you need a lift. :)

It looks interesting, can't wait to read it when it comes: How Sex Works Why We Look, Smell, Taste, Feel, and Act the Way We Do by Sharon Moalem.

86806 Hi, Eleni. Could you move this post into the Self Promotions folder? Thanks!

message 24: by Christy (new)

2225408 I thought of you when I listed it, but I'm doing it with my illistrator and she said no...sorry.

message 23: by Jess (new)

1847538 Thanks! I tried to find the first book when I was out shopping the other day but while they had several others in the series, they didn't have the first one (Guess I'll have to head over to Amazon). I'm looking forward to receiving Namaah's Kiss, as everyone who has read her seems to really like her.

message 20: by TDF Pamela, Moderatrix (new)

86806 DarkHeart, I think that Namaah's Kiss is actually the first book in a new series. It's set within the same 'verse as the Kushiel books, but it focuses on a new character. The Kushiel books are very good, though (I've only read through the third one; I really need to pick the rest up!), so I'd definitely recommend reading those, too.

Ooh, jealousy! The first book KUSHIEL'S DART is a keeper and yearly re-read for me, and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole series. Plus, I'm in love with Joscelin :)

message 18: by Jael (new)

1157941 I entered a few last week so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

message 17: by Laura (new)

2099017 My husband just won a book from Richard A. Knaak the other week. He was thrilled. He's always the lucky one.

message 16: by Katy-Del (new)

1205628 I have received 2 and am waiting on a third.

They are on my first reads book shelf. They weren't things I would have picked up otherwise, but when I read the descriptions on the giveaways, I thought, sure I'd read that.

message 15: by Adrienne (new)

2087365 i've never entered::but i have now::so no i haven't won::but::i'm hoping to:) ::

message 14: by DarkHeart (new)

1847538 I won my first one the other day, Naamah's Kiss by Jacquelyn Carey. It didn't say that it was the sevent title in a series though, so now I've got to go and buy the first one. LOL

I'm holding out for the other two I'm entered into, as they're both books I really want and it would save me from having to buy them. ;)

message 13: by Christy (new)

2225408 I've seen some go to AUS, you just have to wait for them to pop up.

message 12: by Jess (new)

1961032 It's so frustrating! I would love to enter the competitions, but being from AUS no one sends giveaways over to us :( It is always CA and US

message 11: by Delitealex (new)

2175440 I've won one so far

message 10: by Christy (new)

2225408 I've gotten 3 so far (97 more to go to reach my goal)

1863265 Wow - cool. I had no idea.

message 8: by new_user (new)

1365355 Jenna, at the top of this page go to explore>authors. Scroll down, you'll see giveaways.

I've entered several times, pretty disproportionate to my wins, I think, but ah, well.

message 7: by Jenna (new)

1863265 I'm new to this group - how do you enter and win books?

Obviously I need to click around a bit more.

message 6: by Yz (new)

434780 I've won once, but then I don't participate often enough.

message 5: by Kristen (new)

327471 Sometimes it takes a while for the publisher to mail it. Mine both came within a week or two, but it's possible that the item was delayed.

message 4: by Valerie (new)

1670525 I was notified that I won a book but it has been two weeks and I have yet to see it!
