According to the famous physicist and Nobel Prize winner, Albert Einstein, “Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind.

The Qur’an is not a book of Science but a book of ‘Signs’, i.e. Aayaats. There are more than six thousand ‘Signs’ in the Qur’an of which more than a thousand deal with hard core Science

ASTRONOMY:- CREATION OF THE UNIVERSE: ‘THE BIG BANG’
“Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as oneunit of Creation), before We clove them asunder?” [Al-Qu’ran 21:30]

The striking similarity between the Qur’anic verse and ‘The Big Bang’ is inescapable! How could a book, which first appeared in the deserts of Arabia 1400 years ago, contain this profound scientific truth?

* * *
INITIAL GASEOUS MASS BEFORE CREATION OF GALAXIES

Scientists agree that before the galaxies in the universe were formed, celestial matter was initially in the form of gaseous matter. In short, huge gaseous matter or clouds were present before the formation of the galaxies. To describe initial celestial matter, the word ‘smoke’ is more appropriate than gas. The following Qur’anic verse
refers to this state of the universe by the word dukhaan which means smoke.

“Moreover, He Comprehended in His design the sky, and it had been (as) smoke: He said to it and to the earth: ‘Come ye together, willingly or unwillingly.’ They said: ‘We do come (together), in willing obedience.’” [Al-Qur’an 41:11]

Again, this fact is a corollary to the ‘Big Bang’ and was not known to anyone before the prophetehood

***

THE SUN ROTATES

“It is He Who created the Night and the Day, and the sun and the moon: All (the celestial bodies)
swim along, each in its rounded course.” [Al-Qur’an 21:33]

“It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day:Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law).”[Al-Qur’an 36:40]

This verse mentions an essential fact discovered only recently by modern astronomy, i.e. the existence of the individual orbits of the Sun and the Moon, and their journey through space with their own motion. The ‘fixed place’ towards which the sun travels, carrying with it the solar system, has been located preirsely by modern astronomy. It has been given a name, the Solar Apex. The solar system is indeed moving in space towards a point situated in the constellation of Hercules (alpha Lyrae) whose exact location is now firmly established.
The moon rotates around its axis in the same duration that it takes to revolve around the earth. It takes proximately 29½ days to complete one rotation. One cannot help but be amazed at the scientific accuracy of the Qur’anic verses. Should we not ponder over the question:

“What is the source of knowledge contained in the Qur’an?”

Just download it you will get amazed to read completetly.

1993508 Thank you Sydem for sharing such wonderful information with all of us. We absolutely need to ponder over signs all around us which particularly indicate the existence of a Creater.

Facts about scientific subjects and the news delivered to us about the past and future, facts that no one could have known at the time of the Qur'an's revelation, are announced in Quran's verses. It is impossible for this information to have been known with the level of knowledge and technology available in 7th century Arabia.
With this in mind, let us ask:

Could anyone in 7th century Arabia have known that our atmosphere is made up of seven layers?

Could anyone in 7th century Arabia have known in detail the various stages of development from which an embryo grows into a baby and then enters the world from inside his mother?

Could anyone in 7th century Arabia have known that the universe is "steadily expanding," as the Qur'an puts it, when modern scientists have only in recent decades put forward the idea of the "Big Bang"?

Could anyone in 7th century Arabia have known about the fact that each individual's fingertips are absolutely unique, when we have only discovered this fact recently, using modern technology and modern scientific equipment?

Could anyone in 7th century Arabia have known about the role of one of Pharaoh's most prominent aids, Haman, when the details of hieroglyphic translation were only discovered two centuries ago?

762899 To know what Einstein really meant by religion , read http://www.stephenjaygould.org/ctrl/quot... which provides more quotes from Einstein.

Einstein did not believe in any religious dogma nor in a personal God. He was referring to the structure of nature and the cosmos and the feeling of mystical wonder at it. He even referred to himself as an atheist to some , agnostic to others, and specifically saw various scripture as in error.

2330740 Wendy, Einstein belive in God or not that is different question, but what he quotes "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind" is well explained in this short book:-http://www.irf.net/book3.zip

Please read it first. I will just mentioned again that "The Qur’an is not a book of Science but a book of ‘Signs’, i.e. Aayaats. There are more than six thousand ‘Signs’ in the Qur’an of which more than a thousand deal with hard core Science

762899 What Einstein meant is best explained in books about Einstein which include information about how his quotes out of context are often misconstrued. Did you check out the site I provided you which you might find useful?

Some Christian groups claim that the Bible (written long before the Qur'an was revealed)delivered revelations supported by science . Scientists generally disagree with this nonscientists argument on that. Some of the Qu'ran refers to the various stories and people that are in the Bible. Some of the Bible tells stories that appear to be drawn from earlier Babylonian sources and stories as well.

762899 I think I have been clear. Einstein explains himself better than any book written by someone who did not know him or someone who quotes him out of the context of his writings. Einstein was not a theist. He did not believe in a personal god but found Nature truly fascinating and awe-inspiring. It was awe and wonder which he thought people who studied science should have.... not belief in a primative concept of a God or gods...
