I added a new thread for Jonathan Strange as promised :-) As far as I'm concerned we can discuss any books people are interested in in the "Pub" are of our group. So if you have an idea go ahead and add a thread or let us know here and we can add it for you.

Ha! I am done with the two gentleman wizards, and I liked it! :))There are lots of scenes that reminded me of Bunuel's films (especially the film with the ants in the hand, I cannot remember the title now). Terribly discomforting and twisted.
The humor was absolutely delicious - so dry, so matter-of-fact, so English.
The story itself was not that much fascinating. More so was the way it was told.
I'm reading fun fluff -- there is a new crochet and a new knitting mystery out: By Hook or By Crook by Betty Hechtman and Dropped Dead Stitch by Maggie Sefton. I've been sick for months now and these books are like comfort food for me.
It might take me a bit of time to finish it :) I am on 219th page now, and I do not have time to read at my usual pace, which annoys me, because I am losing the overview that way. But I am always in favour of a discussion :))

I'm reading the complete Sherlock Holmes... never read any before, except possibly a short story when I was in school. I know several people who are really into mysteries, and they're rubbing off on me!

I am having this familiar feeling, all the time since I am reading this book. It just struck me this morning, the atmosphere of this book reminds me very much of the atmosphere in Tad Williams's "Memory, Sorrow and Thorn" books. I wonder if they just had the same translator to Croatian, or the style is really so similar? I must check the translator, if I remember it the next time when I am in the library...

I need to give it another go at some point....
I ADORE Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. It is certainly "Victorian in expression", but once you get into it the book is gripping. Great characters. Scary, thrilling, beautiful!
I've just started it, it is really humongous, and there are all kinds of reviews here about it (you might want to check them out, some of them are very entertaining).It is about two wizards who are going to revive magic in England. It seams a bit slow though, and very Victorian in expression. But I've decided: if not now, this book will definitely find itself read this winter :)
I read Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell... a while ago... And I can't even remember what it was about. Should I try again?

I finished PoS a week ago or so. Did I mention already that I had a slight itch to hug it (this happened to me only with Vorkosiverse books, you know). Maybe after the third rereading. After all, I am not easy. :D
