I listened to two of them and I plan to re-listen to the one on family worship... This is something that our particular church emphasizes and encourages so I am attempting to listen from a different perspective the second time. This is a good thing to emphasize as the family is the foundational community structure for the Church. I am glad to see you post these type of resources. I will download them soon. I have an hour drive one way to class on Thursdays so I will probably listen to them then.
I found these sermons by Beeke. There basically a synopsis of the book. It's not evident by looking at the list but there is an order to these sermons. It is Doctrine, Practical then Experiential. Me too, me too!! I'm absolutely and thoroughly enjoying it--but it is slow going for me. I'm trying to edit a book on Colossians, too. :) Blessings! Throw out some discussion when you can. :)
Okay, sorry I haven't posted in a long time. I am reading the book as one of my weekend/sunday books. I am on page 74 as I just finished the chapter on election. That was excellent. It was convicting, and humbling as well as being up to the biblical standard I would expect from Beeke. So, next weekend I plan to read the chapter on the atonement. I am also reading through books on John Calvin.
I actually just got the book as I made a trip to Grand Rapids and stayed with the guy who said I could have his copy. I had already started way back when I first got it though. I remember liking it. I'm also reading The Institutes right now.
Hi James. Welcome. I agree. This book is a huge blessing. It's over my head in many ways, but it has definitely helped me better understand the truth of Scripture--which I think is the point. Blessings and I look forward to the discussion. :)

Despite the comments of 'textbook like' I think the book is very relevant and and covers many things we can focus in on later. After the 'textbook' chapter there are some very warm life changing chapters. It's a long book so you have time to get it and I believe it will benefit you greatly.
I just joined the group recently so I am going to wait for the next book. Good providence to you all.
I am having the same trouble. I have been skipping around in the book not all the chapters are like that just the first section. Something that may help also is listening to some sermons by him. I'll try to post a couple of sermons that he wile he was writing this book the are very good and are what brought me to this book.
Ok. I'm having a heck of a time getting into this book. I'm finding it to be too much like a textbook to be reading on a gorgeous spring evening. Ill give it another shot but don't know that I will be very active in discussions so don't wait for me...
Hi Jason, I just got my E-mailed version on Friday. I've been gone this weekend (our ladies retreat) so I haven't started the book. LW--Monday. :) Kim
Cool the date I put there is arbitrary I started reading already. We can wait until others get their book. If we do start others can catch up. Some have already read half the book. The first few chapters are easy reading. *edited in a more awake state*
