Ok. I heard A Dirty Job was good so i will read it and see for myself. I am excited to read that and Hunger Games!
I fuel my book habit, well our families by being on Border's Mailing list. At any given time there is always a 25%-40%. With the 40% always being a lot more compelling. My wife is super addicted to the Joe Ambercrombie - First Law series. As for me I love scifi and have been going back and forth between Catching Fire and Charles Stross's Space Opera Saturn's Children.
Hmm on my buy list is probably The Magician's Elephant, which was written by the Tale of Despearaux author.
I'm too much of a scatter brain, I jump between mulitple novels as I buy them. >.<

Or get them when I'm broke and really shouldn't spend any money, no matter how %-off it is.

On thursday I went to my library's book sale and this is what I got:
Classic Books From The Library of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry by J.K. Rowling
Pokemon The First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back by Tracey West
How to Write & Sell Your First Novel by Oscar Collier
Bunnicula: A Rabbit-Tale of Mystery, Bunnicula Strikes Again!, Howliday Inn by James Howe
Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit
Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine
Wishbone: The Halloween Joker by Anne Capeci
Today at B&N I picked up:
Prophecy of the Sisters by Michelle Zink
The Princetta by Anne-Laure Bondoux
I am off later today to pick up the next in the bendicet sociey series, #2 and maybe #3 if I am lucky. Really don't need to buy any as me to be read pile is huge but I cannot get excited about any of them at the moment.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I just found the holy grail of thrift stores and the best part of it...it's amazing used book section, which had a separate shelf for science fiction and fantasy and a separate shelf for horror (this always surprises me since most bookstores just tend to lump those two together).
Anyway, I picked up:
Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging Confessions of Georgia Nicolson-Louise Rennison (YA)
Eragon-Christopher Paolini (YA)
Skylight Confessions-Alice Hoffman
Mystic River-Dennis Lehane
Odd Thomas-Dean Koontz
Possession A Romance-A.S. Byatt
Inkheart and The Thief Lord-Cornelia Funke (YA)
The Drawing of the Three, Night Shift, IT, Carrie, and Pet Sematary-Stephen King
House of Leaves-Mark Z. Danielewski
And there were so much more that I wanted, but I decided to exercise a little bit of control. Still, I'm so excited that I found a used copy of House of Leaves since I was thinking of splurging and buying it full price. And I really can't say no to it for 2.99.
Ooh, good stuff. Possession is a slow start, and can be slow in general at times, but it is somehow powerful (it is an award winner after all. Man Booker, I wanna say...) I've wanted to get my hands on House of Leaves for awhile. It's not really one you can do from the library, you have to spend time with it.
Yeah, I agree that House of Leaves doesn't seem like a book that you can read in one go. I took it out of the library and then when I saw how it was structured on the inside, immediately took it back to the library since I knew that I would never finish it by the due date. So, I'm glad I now own a copy and can take as long as I want with it.
