I just finished On The Jellicoe Road. I was pretty confused in the beginning but it finally made sense and it turned out to be a really good book. Like Looking for Alaska, I really liked the kids in the story and admired the way they (ultimately) cared for one another.
I'm reading this right now(I'm on page 126) and so far it's pretty confusing! It supposedly makes sense by about page 150 so hopefully I'll understand it very soon!
I read Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta some years ago, and loved it. She only had one other book out at the time, Looking for Alibrandi, but I couldn't get it here in the states. Hopefully I'll get my hands on it now that Jellicoe Road has won an award (making it perfect for 10.4).
So do I. I will definitely pick it up next time I go to the library. No more book buying for me for a while.
Yeah, I'll definitely be reading this one soon. I understand it's slow to start tho (confusing), but I like books that are a puzzle at the beginning.
Is anyone familiar with this book? It's the newest Printz award winner. It's getting tremendous reviews.
