130781 I think the "always" part is the most difficult thing. Let's see, 15 minutes . . . .

1. Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones
2. The Game of Kings by Dorothy Dunnett
3. Pawn in Frankincense by Dorothy Dunnett (I'd list all six books in the Lymond Chronicles, but nah . . . let's give a chance to other authors)
4. It by Stephen King
5. Northern Lights/The Golden Compass (first book in the His Dark Materials trilogy) by Philip Pullman
6. number9dream by David Mitchell
7. Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
8. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
9. Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke
10. The Will of the Wanderer (first book from the Rose of the Prophet series) by Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman (which would probably offend some people!)
11. The Grey King (part of The Dark is Rising sequence) by Susan Cooper
12. Matilda by Roald Dahl
13. The Wind-up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami
14. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
15. Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes

Salem's Lot was ok. But when you have a dad who rarely read books, much less a fiction, and then he suddenly tells you about a book that gave him quite a scare as a teen, of course you would expect it to be a bit more scary.

54854 Setuju. Historian sangat membosankan. Seksa juga nak menghabiskan buku yang tebal tu!

506469 Agree on Historian. Very disappointing. Stupid plot device (a drink that gave selective amnesia to the protagonist. Seriously??) Boring book overall.

Salem's Lot was okay though. It's just a retelling of the classic vampire story but this time set in small-town America.

Nophoto-f-25x33 Nak buat ke tak, nak buat ke tak? Oh well.. don't laugh. I don't read much of non-fiction. (Dan saya tak akan tutup mata ye. Not a skilled typist yet, hehe)

1. The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
2. Angels and Demons by Dan Brown
3. The Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnely
4. The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray
5. The Princess Bride by William Goldman
6. The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova
7. Wildwood Road by Christopher Golden
8. Salem's Lot by Stephen King
9. Size 12 Is Not Fat by Meg Cabot
10. The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella
11. Ophelia by Lisa Klein
12. Harry Potter by JK Rowling (how could I almost forget this?)
13. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
14. Chicken Soup for the Teenagers Soul (tak ingat la which volume. 1 & 3 kot)
15. A Child Called It by Dave Pelzer (sp?)

By number 6, saya dah blank. I just can't recall most books that I've read. Salem's Lot and The Historian are 2 of the most dissappointing books for me. So they WILL always stick with me. Only, in a bad way.

1169882 Hee, baru nak join thread Mudin...

Kalau saya:

1. Stories about the Partition of India - Alok Bhalla
2. Kisah Hidup Wanita Ikhwanul Muslimin - Zainab Al-Ghazali
3. Cerita dari Blora - Pramoedya Ananta Toer
4. 1515 - Faisal Tehrani
5. Catatan dari Laut
6. Mendaki Kalapattar
7. Keranda 152
8. Seteguh Karang
9. The Travels of Ibn Jubayr
10. To Kill a Mockingbird
11. The Last Lecture
12. Malay Dilemma (Mahathir Muhammad)
13. Blink
14. Salina (A Samad Said)
15. Warkah Eropah (A Samad Said)

Kaki buku Melayu dari zaman kanak-kanak (orang kampung Melayu sejati).... dan anehnya buku-buku Melayu tu tetap paling mengesankan bagi saya, walaupun banyak buku Inggeris dibaca kemudiannya. Mungkin kerana buku-buku Melayu yang dibaca masa kanak-kanak itulah yang banyak membantu membentuk diri saya yang sekarang.
