So I'm planning a garden

It rained and rained last night, and it's still all misty and grey outside now. Things look ok, if not a bit peaked and wilty. Normally we have such warm sunshine!
Sal, I was thinking of doing the 'salsa garden' thing as well and I like cilantro in my salsa. What about the jalepenos, though? Do we not grow them here? Not being a green thumb, maybe I need to stick to peas.

The chickens had a glut of droppings — manure — and I had a new vegetable garden that needed fertilizing. I was hoping we could come to terms.
We have bats that live under our cedar in the summer. Apparently their poop is highly sought after by gardeners. Maybe I'll bag the poop.
Sally, your garden looks great! You'll have to post update pics so we can see the progress as your plants grow and start producing. :)
RA, guano. Ew.

Guano = ick."
You don't have to do it, Sally. I just know it would be cool to keep up with your garden and guessing that others might feel the same way about it.
Oh, you know I want to brag about it all I can once things start growing. If everything dies and I fail, however, I'll be deleting this whole thread.
That won't happen -- unless you go away for a couple of weeks and don't get someone to water for you.
I just read an article that talks about building bat houses to keep the bad insect population down in your yard. It was pretty cool. No skeeters, maybe even wasps (she said hopefully), and you can use their poop in the garden! We have a little family of brown bats underneath our deck and I love listening to them come out at night.
No I didn't, but I heard a little about them. Don't they fly in huge ... uh, flocks (is that right?). My friend said they come out of the caves in dozens & dozens. That would be incredible to watch.
I like bats.
Edit: maybe not caves... I don't remember where she said they come out of.
Oh, are they the new up&coming leaders? It's hard to tell when you're immersed in the unread topics | mark unread
