Who have you invited? Post here!
I can't remember them all. I've probably invited around 10 authors and suggested it to several other authors. Most recently, I invited Ellen Klages, including a friendly and helpful note with various Goodreads links. I did this via her web site contact her link. (I have not heard back and it's been a few weeks.)
I have successfully So far, no luck (but I tried) on several others, including James MacDonald (formerly known as Yog the Great and Powerful) and Diane Duane.
So far, I invited:
Holly Black
Amy Bloom
Michael Pollan
Deborah Smith
Terry Windling
I've had no results yet.
5.7.09 - Jonathan Carroll
5.9.09 - Laurell K Hamilton
5.9.09 - Daeron Shane
5.9.09 - Richard A Knaak
5/13/09 I just sent one to Mary Jo Putney and I contacted Julie Morgensten last week. She might be joining, or at least her assistant might manage her profile which is better than nothing. I know for sure she's at least submitting a photo and bio for her profile but she hasn't decided yet if she's just sending me the info to input it for her or doing it herself. 5/13/09 Christine Feehan via her web form.
5/13/09 Nora Roberts
Just found this group. I haven't sent any "invitation only" emails, but I spoke to two authors about updating their profiles. I included links to the authors program in the emails. They did provide the information I requested, but no joins.Specifically Jonathan Green (Laurell K. Hamilton's husband) in 10/2008 and Eileen Wilks in 02/2009.
Eileen Wilks mentioned looking at Goodreads through Facebook, but if she joined she isn't synced up with the author account.
Wonderful! The newsletter is almost finished sending, so we will try and form a plan of action at the end of the week!
I sent an invite to Lauren Willig, and she said she has signed up, though it doesn't show it yet on the site.
Actually, while she had joined GR, she hadn't requested to be added as an author. I took care of it.That brings up a good point: when inviting authors, make sure they know to click on the "Let us know" link at the bottom of the existing author page. Or you can get the URL for the direct link by using the "invite (author) to Goodreads" link right next to it. If you copy and paste it into your email, that will make it even easier for them to join.
I sent an invite to Lisa Lutz, I don't know if anyone ever has, I noticed her on the wishlist and she's really nice, I've emailed her a few times before. I also sent the author Mike Norman an email, he's a friend so I'm sure he'll be on soon too.
Yeah, here's hoping she accepts! Also Michael Norman accepted, but he's not linked to his profile yet either...hmmm
I got a response from Mary Jo Putney, unfortunately, it's a not at this time. "Thanks so much, Jenn. It sound like a good place to be, but I'm already doing more online stuff than I can handle. There aren't enough hours in the day! Alas.
Mary Jo"
That was the email I received.
I just emailed Brian Czech, author of "Shoveling Fuel for a Runaway Train: Errant Economists, Shameful Spenders, and a Plan to Stop them All" about joining Goodreads -- We'll see....
I invited, Christopher Valen (White Tombs) and Jenifer LeClair Rigged for Murder, both mystery authors and William Cope Moyers, Broken (Bio)
Rigged For MurderBroken My Story of Addiction and Redemption
Jack Murnighan
He apparently has a "personal" login here:

I have tried to invite Suzanne Collins. There is no contact information on her site so I tried to invite her through Scholastic Books. We'll see!
I tried to invite Janet Evanovich but she declined. Her response is the following:Hi Angie,
Ken here, Alex's assistant and book tour manager.
Unfortunately, writing two books a year has left Janet with precious little time for anything else -- she writes or edits every single day. The only time she's not writing is when we drag her onto the two book tours she does per year.
It's very kind of you offer, she has to decline. Sorry.
Best,
Ken

I haven't known what thread to post this in, but given Angie's post # 31, I've had some thoughts that when inviting authors it might be helpful to explain that they can be relatively passive members if they choose to do that.
I agree after reading what Evanovich wrote it seems like they think they may have to be participating in something.
Yeah, when I wrote my 3 authors I made sure to tell them they can be involved as little or as much as possible, but I think having it part of the invite info would be great.
I want to read this one next, although I think I ordered from the library Keeping the Faith. This woman at my gym says it was very good.
Carol wrote: "I love her books, too. "Handle With Care" was amazing. Just finished it. Couldn't put it down!"

Well, did get an email back from her, unfortunately she is really busy and can't do it. :( That's too bad. Maybe she will change her mind sometime.
I invited author Connie Joyner. She's a good friend of mine.
Her book is: ====>
_Realtors Never Die... They Just Become Listless_ (2004)
I wrote a short review which should be on the above web page.
I also posted a message about it at my group. See it at: ====>
