So, I liked WB more than I like WFE, but I didn't like any of the characters! I cared most about what was going to happen with the dog. Don't get me wrong - I love Chabon's writing style, but I just couldn't root for any of these people. But maybe that was Chabon's goal, to just show that this guy is a washed up writer and sometimes that is all they are.Has anyone seen the film? I wonder how it compares. I'm not a Michael Douglas fan so I don't know if it would be better for me!
I really just couldn't get into this book, and actually didn't get very far in it at all before I set it down and moved onto something else. I'm not sure if it was the story itself or Chabon's writing (this is the first book I'v read by him) or something else, but I just didn't find myself at all interested in what was going to happen next. I may give it another try later on, when I have more time to just sit down and read.
