Really interesting book about the tallest trees in the world. The scientific info made interesting by the personal lives of the climbers and scientists that study them.
16. Into the Beautiful North by Luis Alberto Urrea
Great book about illegal immigrants but with a great twist!Very current. The beginning was a little slow for me but I ended up loving it and hope there will be a sequel.

Aprile,
Yes, the book is terrific. I hope the movie does it justice! I did watch the trailer online..have you seen it yet?

21. Bel Canto by Ann Patchett
Very different premise than any other book I have read lately. There were times I loved this book and times I wasn't that interested. I think the event in the story took way to long to conclude and there were parts that were very unbelievable. I was excited to see that there was an epilogue but was very disappointed in the outcome.

I have seen the trailer. It looks good, but you know Hollywood. I really hope it is comparable to the book.

The Help by Kathryn Stockett
I read most of this book in one sitting. It is soooo good. I fell in love with the three main characters that "tell" the story, not wanting their stories to end. I laughed and I cried. I think this is Stockett's first book.....I can't wait for the next one

The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery
Half way there........
This was a great read. May have to reread it to fully understand some of the subtext. Needed a dictionary close by; although you could get the gist of the story without it.

Tea Time for the Traditionally Built by Alexander McCall Smith
I love this series of books. Each one is a treasure.

by Lee Martin
I enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down, but it was somewhat disturbing in many ways. The author is an amazing writer and that is why I think so many people like this book. It was a Pulitzer Prize finalist.
Aprile,
Have you had a chance to see the Time Traveler's Wife movie? I haven't been able to see it yet, but heard it received bad reviews.
I recently read a book called "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett. It was excellent. Everyone I know that has read it just absolutely loves it.

I enjoyed this book about an Indo/Pakistani female.
It explores the relationships between mother/daughters, sisters and even father/daughters.
