Any volunteers for discussion leader?
Hi everyone,
I just finished reading Graceling. It was amazing! I love the main character. If you loved the Study series, you will love this one :) Happy reading!
Tracy
Yay this book is great! I have it as my staff pick at the store I work at. :) If you like strong kick-butt women then this is the book for you!I'm currently reading the prequel Fire and so far it's just as good! There's suppose to be a sequel as well I believe, so there is more to look forward to in this series!
I read this a couple months ago after a friend suggested it and I loved it! I can't wait to read the prequel, I'm a little jealous, Alli. :)
Graceling is my favorite book ever, which is saying something because I have a lot of favorite books but I've managed to pinpoint it down to Graceling. Kristen Cashore writes in a very...straight-forward manner. It's funny and SO original. DEFINITELY worth checking out, *especially* if you like no-nonsense girl warriors.I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of 'Fire'.

Gisela, I think you'll really like this book. It's very fast paced and has an excellent female protag.

I am so jealous!
I actually just got it from the library and I am now really excited to read it, you all have made it exciting!
This is really strange as i was finishing reading this book when i was told about the site.It is an amazing book and i hope the story will continue.
Enjoy everyone
I went with my friend Tat to the library one hot summer south cali day to get some free air conditioning and I remember Alethea recommending this book to me. I picked it up and 3 am the next day I was finished. Such a great book.I love the evolution of characters and how your feelings as a reader evolves as they do. It has a familiar he's-so-arrogant-I'll-never-like-him-oh-wait-he's-actually-really-deep-and-gets-me vibe but I love how it has twists and is brought up in an entirely new setting.
Another good one Alethea =).
I read this book a couple of months ago and I loved it! I passed it around all my friends and my sister just so I could have some more poeple to talk to about it!!I cant wait for 'Fire' to come out!! :)
I'm so bad! I went through the whole month without re-reading or commenting. Tsk, tsk!I loved the mythology (the Graceling effect, let's call it--the multi-colored eyes, the endless variation on Graces, the sometime social stigma, the open-to-interpretation aspect--excellent imagination!) and the setting, it reminded me of the first time I encountered Middle Earth, or Narnia. Chills! I love great world-builders. Of course I also have an imaginary summer home in Sitia ^_^
FYI, Maria is hosting a giveaway (a Fire Advanced Reading Copy! priceless!!!) that is evolving into a sort of time-share... look for the post labeled "Chance to Win"
I loved this book. I thought the idea was amazing! I'm very excited about the next book. I was a fun read and I really enjoyed this book.
For years, I've never been able to pick my favorite book of all time (outside the HP books, I mean), but when I read Graceling, it shot to the top like a comet. Whenever I was asked my favorite book, Graceling popped into my head. Kristen Cashore's writing style is captivating and her characters believable and a joy to follow. I highly recommend this book to any fantasy reader.
