2198142 For me it is Agatha Christie-A caribbean mystery..

message 2: by Jill (new)

1516441 I just started The Dead Cat Bounce. Almost couldn't get it because of the title, but I was intrigued by the house renovation aspect. (dead cat bounce is a stock market term, apparently).

message 3: by Shelly (new)

1096444 Jill, you will LOVE that series. Or at least I did. I've read all of them, and they are really good.

Shel

1380729 The Silver Ghost by Charlotte MacLeod. This is an old library book I picked up by donation at a bank of all places! It's my first MacLeod mystery.

message 5: by Shelly (new)

1096444 Ooooohhh!!!!!!!!!!!! Betty, prepare to fall in love. Charlotte MacLeod is one of my all time favorites. It's a source of sorrow to me that most of her books are no longer in print. Enjoy!

1380729 Well, I will say this book is pretty dried out and brittle, but I'm looking forward to it having heard so much about her. Thanks for the message!

45128 I am reading The Stalking Lamb - Marian Babson

45018 Terri, how do you like The Stalking Lamb?

message 10: by Carol (new)

1916919 For me it's Cat Playing Cupid A Joe Grey Mystery by Shirley Rousseau Murphy. The latest in one of my favorite series.

I'm just starting this one too, Betty--as a book on tape while I'm supposed to be working out. It's good, but I've read others in the series and I'm missing Sarah Kelling's voice (she is the heroine of the others I've read.) so I almost feel cheated as though I'm starting a new series. I felt this way when I read the Sue Henry books for Jessie and it switched to her friend too though--even though I ended up liking the books. Anybody else feel this way?

message 15: by Katie (new)

1283225 I picked up a TON of cozy mysteries at the book sale I attended on April 25th. Right now I'm studying for a Nutrition & Wellness consultant certification and have banned myself from reading for fun until the test is in the mail.

Once I'm back, I think A Blush With Death by India Ink or Latte Trouble by Cleo Coyle will be next.

message 16: by Pamela (new)

45018 Edel,
Yes I am really really enjoying the The Christmas Cookie Killer.
Pamela James

message 17: by Melissa (new)

1074402 My next cozy mystery to read is Murder on the Menu, Ive read another one in this series, and I really enjoyed it!

message 18: by Betty (new)

1380729 I was reading The Silver Ghost, but I just received A Ghost of a Chance from Elizabeth Eagan-Cox and don't think I can wait that long to read it! I'm really looking forward to this one, her first Shannon Delaney Paranormal Mystery Series (Vol. 1).

message 19: by Pamela (new)

45018 I just started reading STATE OF THE ONION by Julie Hyzy. Pamela

message 20: by Shannon (new)

I like this series, but this was one of the weaker books in the series. But a visit with Theodosia, Drayton & Haley is never a waste of time.

I read this book back in the fall. Was the first I read in the series and just not my type of book. Some pretty good looking cookie recipes, tho!

This is a good series, so far. The second book, HAIL TO THE CHEF, was a much quicker read for me.

message 24: by Pamela (new)

45018 Now I'm reading Dorothy Cannell's SHE SHOOTS TO CONQUER and it's not at all a slow read. Pam

1380729 Pamela wrote: "I just started reading STATE OF THE ONION by Julie Hyzy. Pamela"

Sounds like an interesting series!

message 26: by Pamela (new)

45018 Yes she is a White House Chef and it's very funny book.

message 27: by Terri (new)

45128 Days of Crime and Roses = kate Morgan

message 28: by Elaine (new)

1235615 A Night at the Operation - Jeffrey Cohen

I've enjoyed Julie Hyzy's books also.

message 29: by Elaine (new)

1235615 I'm reading "Mama Does Time" by Deborah Sharp. It's the first in the series and it's lots of fun.

message 30: by Pamela (new)

45018 You should drop over to Terri's and mine's blog. I just interviewed Deb Sharp last week and Terri has the interview posted. The addy is.

1916919 I just received two new books off my library reserve list: Patterns in the Sand by Sally Goldenbaum, and While My Pretty One Knits by Ann Canadeo. Both are knitting-shop-related mysteries - I'll probably get the characters and stories jumbled in my mind reading them around the same time!

message 32: by Terri (new)

45128 I am defintiely looking forward to Deb Sharp's book - hopefully will get a chance to read it soon. It is in the piles.

Still working on The Stalking Lamb by Marian Babson

message 33: by Laura (new)

Nophoto-f-25x33 I'm about to start Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder by Joanne Fluke (thanks for the recommendation Melissa) and my copy of While My Pretty One Knits came in today.

I did like the Christmas Cookie Killer, but I like the first one of her other series better "Frankly My Dear I'm Dead"

Love the Joann Fluke series! I've listened to the first two on audio and they're fun.

message 36: by Betty (new)

1380729 I'm back to The Silver Ghost by Charlotte MacLeod, having taken the time out to read "A Ghost of a Chance" by Elizabeth Eagan-Cox, a fun first in a series that I will be reviewing shortly.

345779 I just picked up "Dead Days of Summer" by Carolyn Hart at the library bookstore. I've never read anything by Carolyn Hart so am not even sure it is a cozy. We'll see!

message 38: by Mary Ellen (new)

1525929 Barb, I think you'll enjoy Carolyn Hart. Her books are definitely cozy, though she prefers the term "traditional".

I've just started Louise Penny's "Still Life" and am enjoying it very much. I have high hopes for the rest of the book.

1199857 I have to pull out a nice cozy! Seems recently I've been on an urban fantasy kick.

message 45: by Kim (new)

1258495 Just found this group. :) I recently finished Wild Goose Chase by Terri Thayer, One Bad Apple by Sheila Connolly, and Hooked on Murder by Betty Hechtman. Enjoyed them all. Now I'm into a 'thriller' (Face of Betrayal" by Lis Wiehl), and then I'll pick from my stash -- either another Betty Hechtman or a Terri Thayer. It'll depend on whether I'm in a hooking mood or a piecing mood. hehehe

message 49: by Betty (new)

1380729 I'm not sure, it kind of looks familiar, but I've recommended a lot of sites I've come across so I may or may not have seen it. I need a bigger computer... the old IBMs of the '60s comes to mind, they filled a whole room!

message 50: by Chris (new)

Nophoto-f-25x33 I have next on my list Stamped Out by Terri Thayer. A series about stampers. Thought it would be a fun read.
