What Are You Reading Now?
I just finished Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire so I'm about to start HP and the Order of Phoenix. I'm also in the middle of reading The Naked Mole Rat Letters by Mary Amato which is very light, kind of silly reading and If I Stay by Gayle Forman, which is heavier and sad but engrossing.
Bhumi wrote: "Jennifer, you're so lucky! I'm still reading Blue Bloods right now, which is not bad."I actually really like that series, which surprised me. Minus the shallowness of the richer characters, I think the storyline is pretty rich with history and religious references--I am looking forward to reading the third and fourth books.
I'm reading Catching Fire, and I'm writing my NaNoWriMo novel this month, so I am not reading as much. So glad that challenge is over. Interesting bit... I was apparently very influenced by Hunger Games, as the main character in my NaNo has some Katniss in her, and I didn't realize it until I started reading Catching Fire. (She's not a Katniss knock-off though, I promise.)

I miss the Lightnint Thief series - it was awesome. Must reread it. I'm working on the Peter and the Starcatchers series - amazingly well done too.
BYT - it's great to see so many new people here in Wild Things!
Tlc,
I just finished the Percy Jackson series- I loved it! Wish it could go on and on :)
I haven't read Peter and the Starcatchers yet- recommend?
I do get to meet Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson next Friday, though!!!

RECOMMENDED! Just got the fourth book

it's sitting on my bedside table.
P.S. How do you quote?
And thank you for the recommendation! I will try to read it before I meet Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson next week!
Well right now I don't read any YA book I read a mystery book called The Gaudi Key A Novel by Esteban Martín & Andreu Carranza I reaky like it and I listen in my ipod while following the text Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Right now I'm reading My Enemy's Cradle by Sara Young and I'm really liking it. I'm only thirty pages in, but so far I'm having trouble putting it down.
I am now reading Uglies and I am very much enjoying it. I usually try out YA's and never really get into them but this one is keeping me well entertained!
Uglies, Pretties, Specials, and Extras are some of my favorite YA books I enjoy most of Scott Westerfeld's books
I just finished Found and I enjoyed it, it was definitely a YA and maybe even a JF. I am now starting Sent...I think Haddix has already started the 3rd installment in the Missing series.
Then I am going to read
Finished The Owl Killers by Karen Maitland and loved it! I'm starting The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley tonight.

Lucky you to meet them - have always loved Dave Barry's humor books but am just blown away by the creativity of the 2 of them together!! Am about to start #4 - oh tell them the audiobooks reader is pretty amazing too! Though I think Mr. Barry could possibly hold his own if he tried. I totally agree with David of Wild Things - RECOMMENDED. The books make the Disney movie "myth-like" which is the beauty of their writing.
Tlc!I just started listening to the first Peter book on audiobook- it is a very good audiobook- very good voices!
I will pass your love onto them :)
I just finished Sent. It was really good and so was Found. I am interested to read the rest of that series when it comes out.Now on to Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell
Just finished Uglies gave it 4/5 stars and now I am waiting for Pretties from the library.
I am now readin my First Reads win Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer
I finished My Enemy's Cradle last night and am now reading The Portable Dorthy Parker. I'm really enjoying it.
Finally located a copy of Teach Me by R.A. Nelson and am already halfway through. Interesting subject matter, anyone read it?
Finished Her Fearful Symmetry (finally), and have started We Have Always Lived in the Castle, which I am excited about.
Finished Fire today, and I am happy to say I liked it a lot, and I think I appreciate Graceling more now that I've read its companion.
I'm finally getting started on Eclipse. I'm afraid I waited too long and got a little over-saturated with all the Twilight stuff. I keep rolling my eyes as I read. But I'll keep with it.

Hayes, JSMN is not YA, when I first got interested in it I wasn't sure if it was YA or just fantasy. But it is an Adult fantasy book. To tell you the truth, I totally could not get into that book at all! I tried to push through it as much as I could and I hate to not finish books but I couldn't finish this one. It wasn't a bad book, it just wasn't my cup of tea. I really hope you like it.
So far I am liking PJ I think I about to get past all the introduction for Percy and into the really fun stuff! :)
Jinnifer wrote: "To tell you the truth, I totally could not get into that book at all!"A lot of people have said that... it seems to be a love it or hate it kind of thing. It is awfully long! It's sitting there on the shelf... eying me...

STarting I Am the Cheese, which is a re-read for me. very eerie, and strange, and compelling. Lovely use of language and atmosphere... I'm glad I found this again.
I've never been able to get into anything by Cormier. I don't think he can write. (Sorry, since you obviously do, if this is a reread, Hayes)
I wanted to love JSMN but I didn't and had to give it up. I am currently reading Catching Fire and loving it.

Ok finished City of Bones...and for once, I have absolutely no interest in continuing the series, felt like I had to drag myself to the finish line. Would appreciate it if anyone who has read the series could offer input (and perhaps change my mind about not reading the other two).
I loved City of Bones. I cared about the characters, and was interested in their world. I enjoyed the trilogy, and was psyched to hear there may be a book four. However, if you didn't like it, you didn't like it. There have been lots of books that other people loved that just didn't do it for me. I think that's just the way it is with books.

Thanks Kirsten! Maybe it was the timing, I'll give it another chance some other time. Any others you recommend?
