Waaahhh! ;D
You kena baca Anna Karenina tu, Tok Mudin... I enjoyed it!
That aside, gila punya philosopher Leo Tolstoy tu.. macam-macam benda dia analyse, dari sekelumit kehidupan harian (sakit beranak pun dia boleh cerita!) sampai lah politik semasa. Uisy.. terrerrrrrrr....
Wah... Kataklicik... bukan Anna Karenina tu sangatlah tebalnya?
Buku-buku klasik tu saya masukkan dalam list 'catch-up reads' saya - sebab tak berapa lama dulu saya baru TERSEDAR yg tak mungkin saya dah baca buku-buku tu (Anna Karenina, Little Women, Call of the Wild, White Fang, Crime & Punishment, War & Peace etc etc etc) dalam usia yg terlalu muda.
Otak saya keliru, Najibah! Sebab semua buku-buku sebegini saya baca the abridged versions, semuanya dari perpustakaan sekolah! Laaaaa ni dah terperasan, terpaksalah catch-up dgn full-text versions :(
At least ok jugak Kataklicik dah pernah baca yang abridged.... kalau saya kebanyakannya belum kecuali Little Women.. he he he
Tambah satu lagi buku hari ni -
21. Manikam Kalbu by Faisal Tehrani
Saya amat amat amat terpesona with the fact how well-researched this book is.. :)
Lupa nak update :
22. The Silenced Cry One Woman's Diary of a Journey to Afghanistan by Ana Tortajada
23. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon
Aiseh, this one got away - I finished this in between nos. 23 and 24 actually, memanjang lupa nak update. Anyhow, here it is -
26. Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner

Haha.. when I heard someone mentioned that book dulu, I was thinking of the same thing :p That's why saya tak tergerak untuk search for info on the book, so I didn't know what it's really about till now.
Next time, I won't judge a book by its title =D
rasanya 50 tu tak terlarat nak menghabiskan..sebab baca pun mengikut mood je....takpe untuk tahun ni setakat jun dah lebih 10 buah dah antaranya:
Twilight book 1, 2, 3, and 4....vampire academy book 1, 2, and 3, the story of edger sawtelle, warkah cinta berbau syurga, the road, sekarang tengah baca bad things.....InsyaAllah berkesempatan nak belajar menganyam ketupat cinta pula.......
28. Mr Muo's Travelling Couch by Dai Sijie.
Don't go anywhere near this book. Boring gila. Don't say I didn't warn you.
29. The Wives of Bath by Wendy Holden
30. The Ruby in the Smoke by Philip Pullman
Lepas the fiasco of Mr. Muo's Travelling Couch, I looked for fluff. Philip Pullman's book is YA, and quite good as well :)
OMG! nak pinjam buku kataklicik boleh?tension la jadi pembaca buku, tapi library selalu tak update buku terbaru
Hahahahaha nak pinjam buku?
Can...., tapi tak jamin boleh jumpa buku yg dicari - berlabak-labak ntah dimana, so disorganised one...
For example, I KNOW I have Bernhard Schlink's The Reader (ala... yg Kate Winslet menang awards hari tu) tapi I have noooo idea where it is. I bought it some years back (at the time I had this fixation nak collect books from Oprah's list), wanted to read it before the movie came out, hrmmmph, sampai sudah tak baca lagi (sebab tak 'leh locate bukunya hahahaha!) And of course, sampai ke sudah tak tengok movienya! :(
Tapi buku-buku saya sama la dgn library awak tu wehhhh - mana ada updated ones, semua beli cheapo hahaha
haha, kataklicik, i download e-books nowadays! particularly english books/novels :Psebab tu gila sakan beli buku BM :D
31. Wifey by Judy Blume
32. Propeller One-Way Night Coach A Story by John Travolta
33. Mary Engelbreit'S Words For Mothers To Live By by Mary Engelbreit
Judy Blume's book was a shocker - she wrote YA books which my daughter loves. But this one is for adults, and weii, borders on x-rated material la. Terkejut katak guaaa (not on the material (!!), but the fact that Blume is capable of this stuff).
John Travolta is a great, great actor; but author is not in his repertoire. 'Nuff said.
And Mary Engelbreit! Her folk art is brilliant! And the quotations accompanying her art makes you pause sekejap and think.
(The latter 2 books ni considered cheats masuk dalam list 50 ni - not 'proper' book. But still enriching!)
34. Cromartie V. the God Shiva Acting Through the Government of India by Rumer Godden
Think Midsomer Murders, think Agatha Christie, think PD James, think Ngaio Marsh. Loved it.
35. December 6 A Novel by Martin Cruz Smith
Had high hopes for this book. Okay aje la, somehow tak menggamit sangat. Plus, the author mentioned Malaysia 2 kali, Malaya sekali; tapi the plot is set 2 days before the bombing of Pearl Harbour! Malaysia belum bersatu lagi, heh.
Sekarang tengah baca Bernhard Schlink's The Reader! Yes, Ummu Auni, I found a stash of books dalam kotak! (Yes, I seriously need more storage. Minggu ni nak ke Ikea, tengah sale hahaha)
36. The Reader by Bernhard Schlink
Uisy. Seriau. Buku ni will make you kerut muka, geleng, garu kepala, eyes rolled back. As I said, seriau.
What's the rule when it comes to a compendium of books?
37. The Spiderwick Chronicles The Complete First Serial : by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black
a) The Field Guide
b) The Seeing Stone
c) Lucinda's Secret
d) The Ironwood Tree
e) The Wrath of Mulgarath
Saya setuju dengan Ummu Auni... kira 5 buah... Wah..
Okay, this is an edit -
The Spiderwick Chronicles The Complete First Serial : by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black
37) The Field Guide (Book 1)
38) The Seeing Stone (Book 2)
39) Lucinda's Secret (Book 3)
40) The Ironwood Tree (Book 4)
41) The Wrath of Mulgarath (Book 5)
100? Fuuh, sekarang tengah baca trilogy; mak aih... teramatlah bacinto ('bercinta' dalam loghat Rawa). Ingat nak fast and furious lah menuju 50 tu, tapi ada sikit drift terus masuk gaung nampaknya, heh.
I'm nearly at the end of the second book - nak mulakan the third tu, isy... Gila punya malas.
Dah diserang penyakit malas membaca nampak gayanya ni. Mayhaps a fluff read will do me good. **glum**
The Summer House A Trilogy; Tie-In edition by Alice Thomas Ellis
42) The Clothes in the Wardrobe
43) The Skeleton In The Cupboard
44) The Fly in the Ointment
One story, three different perspectives. The first book is told by the bride-to-be, the second by her husband-to-be's mother, the third by her mother's best friend. Pi mai pi mai tang tu jugak.
45) The Pact A Love Story by Jodi Picoult
My first Picoult. Easy to understand why she has such a following. Tapi the plot ada sikit dark la. But very Hallmark channel, if you get my drift.
5 more books to go...
46. Lucrezia Borgia A Novel by John Faunce
The hardest book I've read in a long long while. Tapi diusahakan juga sebab there are jaw-dropping heart-stopping moments which make it worth the effort.
Kalau nak baca buku ni, I suggest you have your laptop/pc at hand so that you can Google the Roman/Greek/Egyptian mythology references. Also the Biblical and Scripture references. The book is also riddled with bombastic words so a dictionary is indispensable.
Otherwise, forget about it. You won't get past the first few pages, it's that susah. But that's the challenge, isn't it?
47. Nights of Rain and Stars by Maeve Binchy
Every now and then I treat myself to a favourite author. I have these books stashed away supaya I don't read them all at once - sebab nak savour the favoured authors lah. Maeve Binchy is one. I try my darned-est best not to be too greedy and habiskan semua buku yg dikumpul. Sebab after a particularly ughhhh book, selalunya I need to refresh the palate with a curl-up-real-world-go-away uncomplicated easy read.

"
i agree.. i need those breaks as well.. i usually go for easy read, maybe happy-endings/hallmark type stories or just re-read an old favourite..and all is right in the world.. hehe..
48. Advencer Si Peniup Ney by Faisal Tehrani
Mak aiiii, puasa punya pasal, raya punya pasal, larian ke arah buku ke 50 ter-stalled sekejap. Dekat satu setengah bulan between the last book and this one!
Dua aje buku lagiiii
