2208719 Menopause is a natural state that requires intact organs. The aftereffects of hysterectomy cannot be called menopause by any definition. Please explain how "sudden menopause" could possibly be helpful. What was the fatal condition that the hysterectomy performed on you was recommended for? Finally, if you haven't read the book, why are you commenting on it?

64914 wow, i was just trying to talk about a book that helped me through my hysterectomy! i really don't need to justify myself to you, and i'm certainly not going to open up about my illness in a confrontative environment. you didn't indicate why you read the book, but if you were considering surgery i thought "sudden menopause" might be helpful.

additionally, the word meno-pause indicates the end of menses, which includes those of us who no longer have reproductive organs, as well as those whose menstration has stopped either temporarily or permanently due to illness or the treatment of illness.
