2124637 My favorite GR author has to be Jim Butcher, although there are many that I love. His Dresden series is the best! .

83445 I really enjoy Michelle Richmond 's books, although there are many Goodreads' authors that I really like, and I'm delighted that they're author members.

2014182 My favorite GR author (who also happens to be my favorite period) is Neil Gaiman. I've read all of his novels for adults and young adults, as well as most of his comics and children's books. His style and tone grab me every time, and I never find myself missing anything after I've read one of his works. Truly inspirational storytelling, and inventive characters make him the most readable author to me.

369169 Robin, I didnt mean to upset you, it's just that the first thread in this folder (the one that is asterick'ed) instructs the group on what a GR author is.

It is an author that has a profile here on Goodreads.
Here is the link for it: http://www.goodreads.com/author

2520071 Thank you.

message 26: by Suzanne (new)

2404802 Yes, It is my understanding, as I am new also, that a Goodreads Author is an authentic, published author(example; Jonathan Kellerman) who belongs to Goodreads.
They may or may not choose to be a part of TNBBC.

message 25: by Robin (new)

2520071 No.. not joking, thank you. Who determines who a GR author is? Is there a list you have all come up with that us newbies are not privvy too? I could come up with my own list, and I assumme it could be different then yours. Or could it be that these authors are part of this discussion website?

And really, please all don't forget that you were all new to this site at one time too.

I was considering putting The Crown Conspiracy on my list for the summer challenge, but it's not available at my library. Maybe I will get a great bookstore coupon soon and can go buy it.

143168 American Eve: Evelyn Nesbit, Stanford White, The Birth of the "It" Girl and the Crime of the Century by Paula Uruburu is one worth checking out! A non-fiction page turner which begins in the late 1800s.

Nophoto-f-25x33 I was lucky enough to receive a copy of Mr. Malcolm's list from the author, Susan Allain. It was a little Georgette Heyer, a little Jane Austen, and a lot of fun.

Linda,

I really enjoyed Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet A Novel too. Jamie Ford did a great job of touching on discrimination against other groups rather than focusing only on the treatment of Japanese. It was a lovely book. I'm looking forward to his next book.

1410084 My favorite would be my husband, Robert Brown Fulford. How can he not be? LOL He wrote a book of Poetry. He is currently working on his second book of poetry and his memoir.

Nophoto-f-25x33 I really liked both George Mastras Fidali's Way A Novel and Jamie Ford Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet A Novel. Both books were great reads and I learned so much about different cultures that I had not known before.

2097186 I'll be reading The Wednesday Sisters A Novelnext. That will be my first GR author and I'm looking forward to it...hopefully it meets my expectations!

1540288 it's not in a series right Allison? Like if I go pick up the book I'll understand where it comes from?

Nophoto-f-25x33 Traci Hunter Abramson has been one of my favorite GR authors for a while now, but after reading her latest book (Lockdown), she has moved to the top of the list. The book was amazing!

Abramson's books are always fun to read, but this one was inspired by the Virginia Tech shootings a couple of years ago. She wrote a letter to the reader at the beginning that was really touching. I wasn't so sure about the book when I first picked it up because of the subject matter, but I am so glad I did. Instead of focusing on the horrible events at Tech, the book is more about the hope and recovery of that day.

I have only had the book for a week and I've already read it twice. Definitely worth reading.
