Jackie - Thank you for the invite to this group. I am looking forward to reading the members' reading goals, reviews and recommendations.

Dead and Gone, the 9th SS, is coming out in May sometime...I'm really looking forward to reading it.

July:
37. Testimony by Anita Shreve (3 stars) Well written, but left me feeling depressed.
38. Drood by Dan Simmons. Gave up on this book about 1/4 of the way through. Someone knowledgeable about Charles Dickens would appreciate this, I think, but, for me, it just droned on and on. Disappointing after enjoying The Terror so much.
39. Drums of Autumn by Diana Gabaldon (4 stars). Another enjoyable tale of the trials of Jamie, Claire, Bree, and Roger. This time, life takes them to 18th Century America. Loved the audio version.
40. Relentless by Dean Koontz. (2 stars) In the words of the villian: "Hack".
41. The Help by Kathryn Stockett(5 stars) One of my favorite reads of 2009!
August:
42. Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison, (2 stars) - Ugh
43. Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortensen, (5 stars) - then saw the author speak in person. Can't wait for next book!
44. Marcelo in the Real World by Francisco Stork, (5 stars), wonderful - heartwarming.
45. Keeping Faith by Jodi Picoult, (3 stars)
46. Back Spin by Harlan Coben, (3 stars)
