Hi... I'd like your opinions/suggestions/recommendations. I'm looking for good titles under the genre of Urban Fiction/Fantasy. Please share your knowledge/thoughts :) thanks
Have you tried the Hollows/Rachel Morgan series by Kim Harrison? It starts with Dead Witch Walking.
People also recommend the Sookie Stackhouse series. I have that one, but have not started it.
I would suggest the In Death series by J.D. Robb...its futuristic, but definitely falls under urban too. It starts with Naked in Death.
I also love Patricia Brigg's series which starts with Moon Called. My two favorite urban fantasy writers that are both adult and YA are: Francesca Lia Block and Charles deLint.
wow great reponses, I'll look into all of it. thanks you guys
Yasmin, I am a fan of the Sookie novels, I love it, I can't wait till May comes for the 8th book. :)
Great, I'll be even further behind! I really need to get on them. I'm afraid they'll be like the Hollows series, very addictive.

These were my favorite urban fantasy titles of all:
Those Who Hunt the Night by Barbara Hambly, a story that preceeded the "current fad" about a woman doctor in (1900/late 1800s) whose husband is threatened by a vampire, to coerce her to track a killer who is murdering vampires. The vamps are creepy, the research into the time period, exemplary, the language is beautiful, and the heroine, unforgettable.
Cloven Hoovesby Megan Lindholm, a story about modern day woman whose life changes after an encounter with a faun, in the wilderness of Alaska, and Wizard of the Pigeons, about a street person in Seattle who is magical. If you didn't know, this author also publishes under the pseudonym, Robin Hobb.
Ysabel by Guy Gavriel Kay, which involves an entanglement and an ancient myth, a cathedral, and takes place in Provence, France.
Anything at all written by Charles deLint, though my absolute favorite was Moonheart, a crossover into the Taliesin legend, with thoroughly engaging modern characters.
Also if you like the mythic dimensions of the American Southwest, and Arizona, try The Wood Wife by Terri Windling.
Love the Kate Daniels books by Ilona Andrews. A new one just came out so got to reread the series in preparation.
Just started a new author for me and am also pretty impressed: Jeaniene Frost, first book is Halfway to the Grave.
