1151322 Man I cannot believe Twilight series is the best selling vampire series book. Sookie Stackhouse so blows the kiddy series away. Well if you look at the fans that Stephie Meyer addressed at the opening of New Moon they were all teenage girls. God help vampires regain their dignity as demon rulers of the night.

message 64: by Kellie (new)

2710984 The series does kinda change a lot from the book.

message 63: by Cary (new)

1151322 I really don't see anything happening in a good way. The Queen is to self centered and has no respect for her subjects or the law, and neither does Eric. So for Sookie to fall for Eric there is going to have to be some major uglyness. Laffayette and Tara are not going anywhere. Eggs just got wacked, and they have to keep a racial balance in the show. At some point I want to see Queen Latiffa play Octavia. But that's way down the line.

message 62: by Jennifer (new)

Nophoto-f-25x33 i think (read hope) the story line with eric and sookie is going to explode in a good way during season 3. as is the story line with the queen. im really excited for alcide to get introduced and the rest of the shreveport pack! and i hope they continue to find a way to make lafayette important to the show!

1151322 Well it was bound to happen. I think Bill could do better than Sookie. Lorena is not half bad. I hope they find a cure for Jessica. I still think they need to take her to doctor Ludwig. Poor thing she was so close to having a good thang with Hoyt. It was real sweet that Bill was really starting to act like he was concerned about Jessica being her maker. He was acting just like her Dad. I cant wait to see what sneaky act Eric uses to get Sookie in bed. Eric is a low life in TrueBlood. He sells vampire blood, abd ge us a Sheriff for that low life queen. Neither of them have the style of the characters in the book. That Queen deserves to be wacked by the Vegas Cartel. Can't wait for that.

message 60: by Kellie (new)

2710984 Well I don't want to spoil it, but her and erick does. He's sooo hot.

message 59: by Cary (new)

1151322 Sorry that was over my head. When who hooks up? Their is no telling what is going to happen in True Blood. I dont really take sides or have a sexual attraction or favorite in anyone. I do however think in the hotness category Lafayette blows all the white boys of the map. Word up on that.l think Bill is the coolest vampire and Tray was the coolest of the were pack. No Bill not Mr jive talking sneaky ass mo fo, and Tray was not rich like Alcide. Just a bad ass biker loner dude. Quinn is pretty cool. I like him because he is a gladiator, and at the same time he can be tender and caring. Sam is cool because he can shift into anything. But Sam is Sookies boss and a shifter. Sookie needs a regular human or a guy of fairy blood. Rather like her self. That way she would be hooked up with the most powerful and good natured of the supes.

2710984 Cary wrote: " Series books are funny because they must also be written as books that you can still read just one of. In case you haven't read any of the others. Sookie Stackhouse has to always tell you who Bubb..."

Ooo... and this is the one where they hook up.

message 57: by Kellie (new)

2710984 Eric is defanately the hottest vampire in the series and alcide soung big and sexy also. ;)

message 56: by Cary (new)

1151322 I agree cruel and unsualpunishment. Sookie Stackhouse/TrueBlood is the only vampire series I like. Vampire Diaries is not my cup of tea. I will probably end up watching it anyway becasue there aren't any other vampire shows. I thought Moonlight was the coolest. I liked Buffy of course. Buffy is kind of what started all this I think. They had a documetary about people who think they are real Vampires, and the history of Vampires in folk lore, and film on the History Channel. It was so freaking out of site. They had interviews with people from Vampire Bars in New York. Some pretty crazy stuff going on out there. Some pretty freaky people too.

Nophoto-f-25x33 i was on the fence about the season finale. im super glad that maryanne is dead, and i loved that bill and sam worked together to kill her. and sam looked super hot in this episode. in the books im totally team sam, and im starting to turn that way in the series as well. there was not near enough of eric in this episode. he always has some of the best one liners and i really hope they give him a larger role next season. also, i dont think i can survive 9 months without true blood! that is just cruel and unusual punishment to wait so long between seasons! i want to know who kidnapped bill now! it cant be eric, that would be too obvious. in the books its loreana; that would be nice. she was an interesting character earlier this season.

message 54: by Cary (new)

1151322 Cool I just knew one was coming out soon. Well October is not that far away. I really hope there is a showdown with the FOTS coming up. Its like in From Dead to Worse, and Dead and Gone the FOTS has been forgotten. Its time for some payback for what happened in All Together Dead.:)

message 53: by Jennifer (new)

Nophoto-f-25x33 i will be DVRing the vampire diaries tonight. i have read books one and 2 of the series, but i dont like it as much as some of the other vampire series that ive read. the next sookie book gets released in october, and i cant wait!

message 52: by Cary (new)

1151322 Well you can always switch to watching Vampire Diaries. However I don't think it will even begin to fill that void. Hopefully a new book will come out soon. :)

message 51: by Jennifer (new)

Nophoto-f-25x33 not having a new episode this past sunday is making me crazy! and its going to be SO much worse after the season finale this sunday!

message 50: by Cary (last edited Aug 31, 2009 09:54AM) (new)

1151322 Well the new episode Frenzy rocked of course. The Queen was great, Yahtsie! I loved seeing Bill with the Queen. Obviously Bill and the Queen have a history. Bill may not even be an agent of the Queen in TrueBlood just a friend. It was cool seeing Bill talk to Hadley. I like both Bill and Eric. It looks like Eric is going to get stuck dithering with the Queen and it will be up to Bill,Sam,& Sookie to deal with Marryanne. I think ultimately from what the Queen said. When the Maenad finds out that her special God isn't coming. She will be in a point of vunerability. At which point Sookie will put the zap on her. I have read all the books so far. But I missed season one of TrueBlood. I am going to have to get the DVD set of season one for Halloween. Next season they need more Pam & Lafayette, and Jessica. I like the Bert brothers too. I think they would have shown up in Frenzy episode if they had intended to have them in the show. I don't think there is going to be an Andre either.

message 49: by Jennifer (new)

Nophoto-f-25x33 what did everyone thing of the new episode? first, i must say that im sad that i have to wait 2 weeks for the next episode and im even more sad that its the last of the season! now, i have never seen evan rachel wood in anything before, but i was pleasantly surprised at how great of a queen she is. i love that sam is trying to find ways to get rid of maryanne w/o having to die and its even better that he asked eric for help. hopefully there will be more eric and pam in the last episode and then next season! for those who've read the books, i like that they introduced hattley before becoming a vampire, and cant wait for that part of the story to come to the books. im very excited to see who gets cast as the berts! sam was very sweet with arelens kids. im sad that maryanne got to layfette :( and thank goodness that jason is back to being jason!

1151322 The Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris is where true blood comes from. The books themselves are mutiple genere. Vampires,Mytery,Romance/Porn. TrueBlood varies from the book in that everything is a little more intense. There is drug use, graphic sex, and ultra violence. The books only had drinking, sex, and violence. But yeah TrueBlood is not a YA section vampire series book, and the show is X rated. I put this topic up months ago and no one ever answered it. Then I found out why. There is a Sookie Stackhouse book/show group. :)

message 47: by Michelle (new)

952810 I just started watching the show because curiosity finally got the best of me. I'm nearly done with season 1 and I'm trying my hardest to catch up with season 2.

So far it's pretty interesting, I'm trying to over look the fact that HBO tends to make their shows come close to porn at times but other then the overly excited libido of everyone it is pretty good.

message 46: by Cary (new)

1151322 I have a feeling Sookies coming back will be the only thing to get rid of Marryanne. Even then she may be still lurking around Bon Temps

message 45: by Jennifer (new)

Nophoto-f-25x33 did anyone see the newest episode? what did you think?! i LOVED the sookie-eric dream scene! FINALLY!! and godric meeting the sun was heartbreaking! thank god lafayette got tara away from maryanne and kicked the crap out of eggs! i sure hope maryanne is gone before sookie gets back!

message 44: by Cary (new)

1151322 Cool Joy, I try to be anyway. The praying scene is rather suggestive. Which is just why I like TrueBlood as much as I do.

message 43: by Joy (new)

1857647 LMAO Cary! You're so funny...

message 42: by Cary (last edited Jul 09, 2009 06:07AM) (new)

1151322 I forget the blonds name. It one the tip of my tongue. Her husband says to Jason. Now my wife,_____ does not make her bananna pudding for just anyone. I can't remeber her name. Real simple and Biblical. Like Sarah or something. LOL I looked up the synopsis of the episode. Sarah Newlin is the blond bomb shell that Jason is gonna get all ovah! I would get on my knees, and pray with her anyday. Lord I am wicked BAD. tee hee.

message 41: by Joy (new)

1857647 Cary wrote: " Are you kidding? I was very, very pissed. I kept thinking they were saving the best for last when they showed three episodes in a row. That blond girl at the Fellowship of the Sun camp is hot. Whe..."

I think that something is going to happen between them too!

message 40: by Cary (new)

1151322 Are you kidding? I was very, very pissed. I kept thinking they were saving the best for last when they showed three episodes in a row. That blond girl at the Fellowship of the Sun camp is hot. When she got Jason, and went down on her knees and started praying with him it really turned me on. I am one sick puppy, LOL. I think something is going to happen between those too. I can just sense it.

message 39: by Joy (new)

1857647 So Cary, were you upset that an episode of True Blood didn't air on Sunday? I'm irritated. I needed my True Blood fix! LOL

message 38: by Cary (new)

1151322 I think when Niall said "Sookie that vampire really loves you". He was reffering to lonesome vampire Bill. It was Niall and Bill you rescued Sookie from Neave and Lochlan. Bill was badly wounded saving Sookie. He was Sookies first lover. I like Eric because he is so ruthless and wicked. I think he truly loves Sookie. But he is so full of himself. Bill is a good guy. I think his love for Sookie is true, and unselfish. I think ultimately Sookie will go back to Bill. When Sookie begins to age and loose her looks. She will ask Bill to turn her. Bill is so laid back and Sookie is such as simple country girl. I bet if they hook up they will stick together, live in the country, and steer clear of the dangeroeous vampire politics. They will be together an eternity.

1151322 Bubba is in every book if you have read the Southern Vampire Mysteries. I have read all eight, and Bubba is in all eight. His apprearances are brief. Sometimes he hangs around guarding Sookie and sleeping over at Bills. But he does have some major parts. Like in the Witch Wars when Bubba and Sookie sneak up on the Witches hideout. The Allied Vamps & Weres figure the Witches will not be able to detect Bubba's muddled up brain. So Sookie and Bubba do the reckon before the vamps and weres storm the Witchies pad. Also I just finished book eight. That book will be known as the Fairy Wars,LOL. Niall fairy prince, Sookies great great, great grandfather says he is sealing of Faery from the Human world. As he leaves he says "That vampire really loves you". Sookie goes which vampire Bill or Eric. Hm inquiring minds want to know. Also it was the assasin faery brother and sister team of Neave & Lochlan who are water faries, and pulled Sookies parents car into the water and water niads pulled them under and drowned them. You have to read very carefully or youll miss it. This is all revealed towards the books end. Allot of bad stuff happens in this book. But I thought it might be the last one. However Charlaine Harris has left it wide open for more books. It is not as fun as some of the other books because a lot of wierd things are revealved and terrible things happen and some of your favorites will die. I can't believe they did not show a new episode of TrueBlood for the Fourth of July. Boo!

message 36: by Natalie (new)

2491263 I wish so badly that Lafayette would be a queen this season! He is so amazing at playing it, and I loved his character last season.

I love the series and the books. I am wondering when/if "Bubba" will be in it! I hope, I just absolutely loved him in the books! I know it's not a huge role, but he makes some of scenes!

Also, I just finished the 7th book and I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT! if anyone's read the entire series hit me up and TELL ME! I hate surprises and would love to know what's next! I have so many questions!

message 35: by Cary (last edited Jul 01, 2009 05:27AM) (new)

1151322 Hey Joy very funy. It was not until the second time I watched that episode I thought it might be a Minotaur. In the book Sookie is attacked by a Mynaed with a Razor back pig at her side. The mynaed carries a flail or branch. That she hits you with to poison you. When Sookie was being attended to by that odd doctor who likes vampires in the book. But apparantly not on TV. Sookie says something like she thought she saw a human with a bulls head. Then Eric sends Pam and Chow. Out to Look for whatever is was. They said they found human tracks with an nasty animal sent. However Minotaurs don't have claws, don't have poison. So I am not quite sure what they got going on. TrueBlood sticks close to the basic Southern Vampire Mysteries but they change them around allot. Like could they not find an oriental actor and give him tattoo's to play Chow? Still I want to see Laffayette in his drag outfit, LOL! Layafayette will not be a drag queen in season two. I think that the black audience for the show did not like seeing Lafayettes character as a drag queen. Nelson Ellis played that role beautifully however. You'll notice in future episodes he is dressed in an African hat and is wearing a Dashiki a traditional African mans shirt, and telling Eric he is through dealing drugs/vampire blood and is changing his life. Oh well

Did you like the Minotaur? LOL

1151322 TrueBlood is a bold show. I can't believe the blatant reefer smoking, sex, and murder that goes on. That hour long show flys by. Hands down the coolest show on TV. Man can that witch roll a honkin blunt reefer or what? I cant wait to get a Fangtasia T shirt.

message 32: by Cary (new)

1151322 Moonlight is on the Scifi channel Fridays at 8:00

message 31: by Cary (new)

1151322 You can buy the whole first season on DVD Blue Ray. I have an HDTV and TrueBlood season one is only $50.00, that's peanuts.

message 30: by Joy (new)

1857647 You could probably get True blood from your local library or a video store. I know they have the 1st season on dvd at my video store...
Wow, I devoured season one on dvd. That would suck to not see it!

message 29: by Cary (last edited Jun 24, 2009 07:46PM) (new)

1151322 Nope I sure didn't Joy and it really bums me. I kept wondering who the strange black man was in Erics basement. Then I realized that it was Lafayette out of drag, LOL. Then they were gonna turn him or kill him, and I thought oh man I will never get to see human drag queen Lafayette. I am so crushed. Surely they will rerun Seaon One. They have too! I just loved it when Bill stept in front of Sookie, and said " I am not prepared to loose you Sookie". Go Bill go! So he snags Sookie, and they have make up sex. Knowing that Bill & Sookie will break up eventualy also bums me. I must say they made Eric one ruthless freakin Vampire.

I am betting that they end up turning him!

message 25: by Cary (new)

1151322 Oh man TrueBlood is so good. The hour goes by in the blink of an eye. Leaving you wondering were the show went. It is that absorbing. I have never seen a TV show fly by like that and grip every moment of your intrest. TrueBlood is the badest V for Vampire show on TV. What do you think? Are they Turning Lafeyette into a Vamp or killing him? Inquiring minds want to know. LOL

message 24: by Cary (new)

1151322 Our local TV guide is very inaccurate. TrueBlood shows on HBO Sundays at 8:00pm & 9pm depending on wether you are watching HBOeast or HBOwest. Runs of the previous episodes show at 12:00 & 1:00 depending on which HBO channel you are watching. Its all very confussing at first. I just got Satelite dish TV. They are installing so many dishes because the TV broadcasters lied when they said your TV would pick up the new digital signals with rabbit ears. You have to have cable or satelite dish to get TV at all now days. Cheers, Cary

message 23: by Cary (new)

1151322 Season two episodes are shown Sundays at 8:00 on HBO, and rerun the following Saturday at 10:30

message 22: by Cassy (new)

1351630 Well, I already watched Season one of Tru Blood. I was just hoping to not fall behind with season 2. I hate having to wait for the DVDs.

message 21: by Cary (new)

1151322 Hulu has a lame list of shows anyway.

message 20: by Nicole (new)

2420599 yeah hulu is free is just a website that you just type in the show you want to watch and it gives you the link :]

message 19: by Cary (new)

1151322 You can get series on for $50 on DVD. It is not on Hulu or Surfthenet. Which show certain reruns. They will be showing reruns on HBO however at some point. You can get a good idea on Season one from the spoilers at TrueBlood website.

message 18: by Cassy (new)

1351630 I believe that the justification of Bubba being so retarded wasn't just the drugs, it was also the timing, he was mostly dead by the time the vampire turned him. What's Hulu.com? is it free? I don't get HBO, so at the moment I have to wait for the series to come out on DVD.

message 17: by Cary (new)

1151322 I get all my phone, computer, and soon TV through AT&T who use Direct TV as the cable provider. I will see if I can pickup Hulu.com In a month or so I am getting rid of my old piece of junk and getting an Apple P.C. Thanks,C

message 16: by Nicole (new)

2420599 I know if you have like digital cable that it is on demand all the first season and then it puts new episodes on the day after or you could just go to Hulu.com and check em out
