I disagree that men do not read her stuff because she's a Colleen rather than a "C." Lovers of historical fiction know that her "Rome" series is the best ever done on that era. Makes Conn Igguldon's series on Rome read like Juvenile books.

I think historical fiction, Romance novels excepted, is read by Historical Fiction fans regardless of the author's sex.

1595626 I'm currently reading Secret Life of Bees which is a totally women centered novel, written by a woman. But I'm liking it because of the gripping story and fluent narration.
So, good books regardless of the theme and the plot, do find their way.
