86285 So far I plan on reading:
Cravings
The Lightning Thief

The Hobbit Graphic Novel

message 2: by Lisa (new)

83445 Winter's Tale

Revenge of the Spellmans

Borderline

I Am the Messenger

and I'd like to finish

Notes from a Small Island

BUT, given the length of Winter's Tale, I'll see what I really get read. My planned reading for the month is also always subject to change. Sometimes library books arrive that have been on hold, and what I'm in the mood to read often changes as well.

I read the 39 clues books and I really enjoy them. I'm excited about book 4 June (I believe).

message 20: by Angie, YA lovin mod!! (new)

message 21: by Debbie (new)

1945325 I have Evermore and the first 39 Clues book in my TBR pile. I'm also picking up Revelations by Melissa De La Cruz from the library. Right now I'm reading The Luxe.

1702195 Yeah Maria!! You'll love Magic Study! I just finished it!

Study series by Maria V. Snyder:
1.) Poison Study,
2.) Magic Study, and
3.) Fire Study
...this is my second favorite series/story ever!! (First being Twilight)

Lisa McMann:
4.) Wake, and
5.) Fade

Mortal Instrument series by Cassandra Clare:
6.) City of Bones,
7.) City of Ashes, and
8.) City of Glass

The ones that are crossed out have been read.

message 24: by Natalee (new)

1499743 For April, so far I have read:
The Luxe - fun, light read that reminds me the Gossip Girl tv show but in a different time period for some reason (and I dont even watch Gossip Girl!)

The Butterfly Garden - which was a great memoir in which the author was abused as a child. His father was on the most wanted list for murder and was on the run. Author rose above his challenging childhood and did something great with his life and the lives of others.

Now I am reading Hunted by the Casts and I Capture the Castle

message 25: by Fin (new)

1200915 I'm rereading the Inkheart books, and trying to find the books of the Demonata series.

Fin, I've only read "Inkheart" (so far) - how are the books to reread? There seems to be a lot inside the book, so I would *think* it would be an enjoyable reread...?

message 27: by Kristen (new)

327471 Haven't yet read any of the ones I said I would. I have, however, read:

The Amaranth Enchantment and am reading currently:
Fragile Eternity, May Bird and the Ever After Book One, and I Capture the Castle.

Three more I may read this month (besides those listed earlier):
Bones of Faerie
Standard Hero Behavior
Daughter of the Flames

It was enjoyable, and I seem to have gotten more out of it this time around. But I'm rereading Inkspell at the moment, and I don't like it as much as I did the first time.... but rereading Inkheart is definitely recommended.

message 29: by Ann (new)

446509 Thank, Fin!:)

2027269 Hi everyone. I teach fifth grade reading (four blocks) and am currently zipping through Laurie Halse Anderson's books (she went through my city on a book tour recently and intrigued me). I had already read Fever 1793, but I finished Speak this weekend and am now into Wintergirls. What do you think about the last two titles being in a fifth grade classroom? Are they too mature/edgy for this age group? I know some of my girls can handle it, but I am not sure if I will have parent issues. I have never had any...but I wonder about these titles in particular. I am a big believer in the whole "censor yourself" stance, though. Any thoughts you have about these titles would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance!

message 31: by Lisa (new)

83445 I haven't read Fever 1793 yet although it's on my to-read list. I think Wintergirls is fine for 5th grade. Personally, I'd wait for Speak until 6th or 7th grade, but that might be just my take.

message 32: by Kathy (new)

971945 I just met Ellen Hopkins at a book fest, and I purchased Glass and Identical, her latest, and had her sign them. I had already read Crank and was fascinated by it. Glass is the sequel to Crank, continuing the story of Ellen's daughter who becomes addicted to meth.

message 33: by Angie, YA lovin mod!! (new)

86285 I really enjoyed Speak... we actually discussed it as a book club read here. I think though 6th grade would be better than 5th grade too. I think it is more of a middle school book then an elementary school book.
