Need to pick up my copy. Will call the Poisoned Pen tonight.
Oddly, only 1 copy for my whole Library system - I protest!
Yeah, Harlequin doesn't do hard laydowns on these--meaning, no enforced release dates. On their series books (you know, the little $5 paperbacks) they do. I'm glad they don't for Maria's! Less waiting!
So I just got this book today from my local bookstore! I don't know how, I thought it wasn't supposed to be released until the end of the month. I had it on pre-order and I got an email to come and pick it up. They did this with City of Glass too. I got that book a full week early.

Neat! The link works but it's super tiny. Enjoy!
Jane, I'm reading it today. I'll msg you when I'm done!
Ahahaha! We got one, too (the rest are still in the boxes somewhere) and my elderly customer, Elsie, happened to be around--she was soooo happy when I handed it to her! I'm hoping the rest will be there tomorrow.

HA! I have the book! My husband was on Barnes and Noble.com and saw that they said it was available for pick up and he went and they went in the back and got it for him. I don't have to give it back right? Now that it is mine I can keep it!? I mean it is not September yet, I am so excited! Yeah I have the book!!!
i dnt want september to come yet :(
i hav tey go bac tey school den n ive got gcse's dis year!!!!!!!!!!! *cryin*
An excerpt is up at Maria's website: http://www.mariavsnyder.com/books/sea01....Although you might want to wait until you read Storm Glass... spoilers! Meme, I'm having coffee with Maria on Friday so as soon as I get her to sign your book I'll mail it to you--you might get it by Monday!
ummm is it here yet? I'm not sure I can wait for it any longer lol. This cover is beautiful I have to get my count down up and the cover on my page. OK have to go figure out how to do that now :)
Maria- Yes I did! However, I'm a crazy ocean loving person who's had some scary stuff happen while in the water, but that doesn't stop me from going back in!! So that's why I'm like yeah, that did happen, but she survived. I see it as the fault lies within her actions and not because the ocean is evil. And why couldn't she travel to the tropics?? Not all oceans are cold! :D :D
Rachel - didn't you win an ARC? You should know why Opal isn't fond of the water ;> One thing - she hates to be cold!
Keelin - According to the copy in the UK of Fire Study, Storm Glass is coming out in the Uk in July or August of 2009 (they have both months listed...go figure!) Yelena has made an appearance in both Storm and Sea Glass - and Valek has shown up in the third Glass book. Janco has a pretty big role in Sea Glass - he's so much fun - I need to write Janco Study or something like that - that would be a blast!
I'd like a glass starfish, too!
Alethea- Yaay!! Thanks for posting the cover for Sea Glass! I LOVE the blue coloration and the glass sea star!! Maria- Thanks for the synopsis!! I'm really excited to read it!! But how can you not like water?! ;)
SEPTEMBER....when is storm glass out over in europe and is it true that Yelena and Valek come back into it in the future..?????
Glad you all like the new baby ;) Opal is not under water, in fact, she doesn't like the water very much - I think she's supposed to be kneeling in the shallow surf.
As for a synopsis....hmmm...do you want the blurb on the back of the book - or my own...I like my own better and there are no spoilers (be careful reading it on Amazon or another site - I would suggest you wait until after you read Storm Glass - so Mindy you're good to go!)
Here's the synopsis:
Like the colorful pieces of sea glass washed up on shore, Opal has weathered rough waters and twisting currents. But instead of finding a tranquil eddy, Opal is caught in a riptide. Her unique glass messengers which allow instant communication over vast distances have become a vital part of Sitian society. Once used solely by the Councilors and magicians, other powerful factions are now vying for control. Control of the messengers equals control of Sitia. Unfortunately that also means control of Opal.
If that isn’t enough of a problem, Opal’s determination to prove blood magic is still being used is met with strong resistance. The Council doubts her, her mentor doubts her, and even her family is concerned. When her world is turned upside down, she begins to doubt herself. In the end, Opal must decide who to believe, who to trust, and who has control—otherwise she will shatter into a million pieces and be swept out by the tide.
Is she under water? It looks like the water is pooled around that rock. But I could be wrong. I really want the synopsis to be posted! Geesh. I guess that's the only problem with winning a book early and getting to read it. . . I have to wait longer for the next one.
This cover is gorgeous! I can't wait for it's release, I'm still gushing over Storm Glass! HAHAHA....
