1614841 Hubby and I are leaving to go on vacation in a few days, and I'm looking for some trashy romance novels to enjoy while laying on the beach. I'm not a big romance reader, but I usually lean towards historical romance. Any suggestions are welcome!

1291628 Wings of the Storm by Suzanne Sizemore. I read it YEARS ago, but it stuck in my mind very clearly! He he :) Is the cover trashy enough for you?

1412216 Anything by Laura Kinsale, but especially "Flowers from the Storm". Great, different, classic.

Sorry, Goodreads isn't letting me link for some reason.

1637878 okay, I haven't read it...but

The Wolf and the Dove is supposed to be a "trashy classic."

Also...absolutely ANYTHING by Lisa Kleypas, but I adore her Wallflower series:
Secrets of a Summer Night
It Happened One Autumn
Devil in Winter
Scandal in Spring

And last, anything by Judith McNaught...I am partial to A Kingdom of Dreams.

These are all historical btw, I don't read a ton of romance either, only after I've read a brick or something and need a release.

1396160 Allison, really?

My biggest trashy romance is The Thorn Birds Colleen McCullough. It's not really trashy, but definitely romance, with the added bonus that you learn quite a bit about New Zealand, Australia and the Catholic church.

1413603 I'm enjoying the books by Amanda Quick - light regency romance with humor.

hehe, are you referring to the fact that I said I don't read romance and then suggested like 45 books?

I really don't read it MUCH :P

1413603 Trashy depends on who you talk to, generation, religion, and preferences! My really trashy ones (Lora Leigh, Laurel K Hamilton, etc.) I don't loan to my Mom or anyone of her generation.

933294 My good trashy ones all came from my mom!! :)

Me too!! My mom's room has shelves and shelves and shelves of trashy books.

1413603 I would guess neither of your Moms are as old as mine - my Mom will be 70 this fall, and she was raised Baptist.

However, My 29 yr. old daughter would say what you said about me - I have more trashy romances than her!

398294 Hmm . . . I don't know if it would really be considered trashy -- but I read Hidden Fires by Sandra Brown -- it's a historical romance -- pretty long. I read it at the beach.

Agreed. Lisa Kleypas is AWESOME! The Wallflower series is awesome!

I also LOVE Julia Quinn. Her Bridgerton Series is awesome:
1) The Duke And I
2) The Viscount Who Loved Me (my favorite romance ever!)
3) An Offer From a Gentleman
4) Romancing Mister Bridgerton
5) To Sir Phillip, With Love
6) When He Was Wicked
7) It's In His Kiss
8) On the Way to the Wedding

I've also really enjoyed all of the Elizabeth Boyle books I've read, especially Love Letters From a Duke and This Rake of Mine.

I've also really liked Sabrina Jeffries' School for Heiresses series. Way cute.
1) Never Seduce a Scoundrel
2) Only a Duke Will Do
3) Beware a Scot's Revenge
4) Let Sleeping Rogues Lie
5) Don't Bargain with the Devil (comes out 5/26/09)

That should be enough to keep you busy... :)

Oh yeah, and all of those are historical romances set in England/Scotland in the early 1800s.
