2111738 1. Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood

Although the writing took a bit of getting use to, I really did enjoy the book. Grace had me rooting for her the entire time which was nice because I like being able to bond with the characters. Simon on the other hand... totally creeped me out.

2111738 2.The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd

It was pretty good and I liked the movie too.

Man... I really need to get reading! I've been so lazy lately.. well, not physically, just mentally. :P

2111738 3.Major Barbara by George Bernard Shaw

It was pretty good although I think I would have enjoyed it more if I didn't have to rush through it for a stupid school unit.

1230903 Shame on your teacher!!! Rushing thru GBS? Sacrelig!

message 6: by Ayla (new)

2111738 Lol! Well, I'm taking English Literature 12 as a home course since it isn't offered at school and the reason it was rushed was because they stuck GBS in the very last unit. The unit has 6 sections and he only received one of them. Oh and the unit needed to be finished by the end of May... I just started at the beginning of May.

I plan to read more of his stuff at a more leisurely pace once I'm done with this course. He has some amazing quotes!

1230903 yes he does, as does Oscar Wilde

2111738 4.The Plains Of Passageby Jean M. Auel

It had it's interesting parts but was sort of a bore for most of it.

2111738 5. The Shelters of Stone by Jean M. Auel

It was better than the previous one but still a tad repetitive... I'm glad Ayla had a girl although I wasn't too fond of the name.

2111738 6. Black Beauty by Anna Sewell

Awesome! I loved it. :) Kept me interested right until the end.

2111738 7. Atonement by Ian McEwan

It was extremely good and well written. Although, I really wish that I hadn't watched the movie first... :(

2111738 8. The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong

Goooooood! At first I was a bit unsettled by how different it was from her previous books but I soon adjusted and finished it in no time. For me, Kelley Armstrong can do no wrong.

2111738 9. The Awakening by Kelley Armstrong

EVEN BETTER THAN THE FIRST!! *sigh* I love Kelley Armstrong.

message 14: by Ayla (new)

2111738 10. The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson

For the first couple of chapters.. okay, for the entire book I was sort of like, "What the fuck am I reading?!"

But the entire time.. I had to finish it. Andrew Davidson is an amazing writer and although this book was utterly bizarre it was extremely captivating.

2111738 11. Kiss by Ted Dekker

It was alright but nothing great.

message 16: by Ayla (new)

2111738 12. Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

It was pretty decent.. kept me interested so that's fantastic. :) Looking forward to reading the next one although I'm in no hurry.

2111738 13. A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray

I really liked this book.. hence why I reread it. :)

14. Rebel Angels by Libba Bray

Lovvvvveeee. Kartik and Gemma just need to get together already.

message 18: by Ayla (new)

2111738 15.Platinum by Jo Rees

It was definitely NOT my type of book but I was desperate so I picked it up and began to read. Cliche and cheesy but I finished it and was sort of captivated near the end.
