Did a little research, and I don't think I have read them before. Maybe I just heard them mentioned more frequently. I don't care for zombies as a rule so I don't think I would have read the collection.
I've got that book (if I'm looking at the right one) and have read it...but damn if I remember much about it. I remember the Joe Lansdale story because I've read that one in a few anthologies. Other than that, my memory fails me...once again.
A couple of those stories seem familiar to me, namely the Nutman and the McCammon. I wonder if they have appeared elsewhere.
To tell you the truth it all starts to blend together after a while! I do get the overall feeling that I like the book though. I liked Stephen Kings entry and a story called "The Good Parts".
Well, this one looks good, too. What's your favorite story so far? How is Robert McCammon's "Eat Me" story?I might get to meet Robert McCammon in another week because he's coming to the library for a book fair. He's promoting his Queen of Bedlam, which I'm in the middle of reading.
This anthology is pretty good. Some hits and some misses, but overall i enjoyed it. If you are a collector of zombie fiction it is a must have.
It's a good vampire flick.BTW, Rusty Shackleford is my favorite alias of all time. I get a kick every time I get to slip it into a conversation.
Tressa, I was pleased/disappointed the other day when I discovered that all the copies at my local video store had been rented. It seems there's a pretty good following.
Well, I'm cheap when it comes to books. Why buy them since I work at a library? That's why I don't even have Netflix.I'm reading Let the Right One In now and had to wait on it, too. But I wanted to watch the movie first. If you've seen the movie come add some perspective to our LTROI movie discussion here.
I went ahead and bought the DVD of LTROI at Amazon yesterday. I like to build up my horror collection of movies and books just in case my son becomes a fan when he's MUCH older.
I can sympathize. I've been waiting on an inter-library loan of "Let the Right One In" for a while, now.
It ain't easy being cheap.
I've never been a big fan of short stories, although I have my favorites and there are some great ones out there. The problem with short stories for me is that I take time to invest in the characters and plot and just as I'm really into them, the story ends. But I might have to give this a shot since I heart zombie literature. Rusty, I get most of my books from the library, too. Some of the more hardcore or non-American horror fiction I have to get through interlibrary loan, and even then sometimes I can't get it.
I've had that on hold at the library for a few months now. If it doesn't come through soon, I might actually have to take the drastic step of buying it.
Perish the thought.
LOL. I'm stuck here at work until 7:00 and am bored. Thanks for the chuckle. That was a stupid sentence--"big, big fan of short stories." No wonder I'm not a writer.
Tressa wrote: "I knew that cover looked familiar. I've seen it here on the shelves. I'm not a big, big fan of short stories, but I might try it if you think it's any good."Don't be prejudiced. Height isn't everything.
I knew that cover looked familiar. I've seen it here on the shelves. I'm not a big, big fan of short stories, but I might try it if you think it's any good.
