Any Lee Childs keeps me occupied on a plane- the books are so gripping I forget to have a sleep sometimes! We generally have 24hour trips back and forth to Europe to fill up, so books that suppress boredom are great. Light fluffy reads bore me too easily so I get restless!
Tolstoy's Anna Karenina, it's long (over 800 pages)but if the flight is 15 hours you'll need something for the flight back, this book whisks you up and takes you away. One of my all times favorites.
Wow, that's quite a flight! I hope you have a safe and fun trip! What type of books do you typically like?
I'm like Perpstu, I tend to like the light "fluffy" books to make the time fly. But the last long novel I read was "The Time Traveler's Wife". That one I would've loved to have 15 straight hours with.
15 hours? Wow. I just read Scarpetta by Patricia Cornwell on the plane last week. It's 500 pages, so you won't run out of book, but I always like light chick lit for plane rides too. Less to concentrate on!
I tried to read Metamagical Themas one plane trip, and another I was reading Godel, Escher, and Bach, both by Douglas Hofstadter. They would either take you through a 15 hour trip I think.Jigme Datse Rasku
I read Three Men and A Dog, a classic by Jerome K. Jerome while waiting in airports once. It's perfect for travel. But, it is probably too short for 15 hour trip. I also think something fast-paced and attention grabbing would be good such as Jurassic Park.
