Friend or Follow is my favorite site: It allows you to manage your Twitter account by:
1. See who is following you that "you" are not following.
2. See who isn't following you that you "are" following
3. And lists everyone that you are following in one page.

Just a word of caution...everyone has just found this site...so if you get 0 numbers on all of your searches, try again later. It just means the site is over-loaded.
Dee, I just used that grader to find out my grade. It's 94 %. I wish I'd got that in my maths exam at school... seems I'm doing better at Twitter.Has anyone noticed their 'following' number changing when they haven't added/subtracted anyone? Mine is going up and down like a yo-yo and I have not touched a thing.

G'day Jen & Bryl,I am happilly following from the land of Kangaroos! As we say in 'Twiiterland'....tweet you later. ;-)
Stuart aka http://twitter.com/writer99
Welcome to the Twitter madness thread Jen & Bryl.
I have added you both to our group's Twitter listing, and am on my way to add you to my personal Twitter page.
Oh, and damn, I was wondering why all my brain cells felt like they were not firing of late...too many early morning Tweets...thanks for the info Jen :]

Question 1.
How do "you" use Twitter to promote your books?
Question 2.
Do you think Twitter has garnered new readers and sales or do you feel it it is just another distraction from writing?
Hey Rownea,
I have no idea if that would help or not. If your rating is 98%, I would think you are doing the right things already :]
Unfortunately, there are some people/groups on Twitter that just gather as many followers as possible...THEN, when you follow back, they un-follow you. I always un-follow those.
I also block anyone that is from a questionable site (as in there one and only post is “Tweet me for a good time” Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww! )
I also clear out my listings on a weekly basis. If I have followed someone for over a week (and know that they have been Twitter) and they are not following back, I usually un-follow.
But, I tend to be an organizer, and am constantly tweaking everything to see what works the best :]
Hey, Dee,Would ditching most of the people who don't follow me back (like libraries and newsreaders) improve my grade?
Best,
Rowena
Oh, and if you ever want a quick way to find out if you are following someone and they are not following you, here is a great site:
http://friendorfollow.com
Hey Rowena,
Thanks for posting the link to the Twitter Grader :]
http://twitter.grader.com
I usually check it at least once a week. I am now up to 95% (which is not bad, since I have been offline most of the summer due to major construction on my house).
Hey Dianne,
Thanks for the update to your Twitter URL. I will add it ASAP to our group's Twitter listing :]
Pamela, that's great about your book and I look forward to following you. I'll look for you on page 73 of the other book with women who are getting on with their lives. thanks.
Good advice, thanks. :)Yvonnew wrote: "I maintain social profiles for my clients. As a Author some of the things you can twitter about are the following:

Rowena,
Could you please repeat the twitter grader address? Clicking on it only gets me "website not found."
Thanks!
EB
How many of you have discovered http://twitter.grader.com ?I think it is interesting. Since I started trying to persuade people to vote for me in a contest that ends today, my ranking has dropped from 98.7% to 98%
Which is worth knowing.

Dee wrote: "Sorry you are still having problems with Twitter Lookman. I always enjoyed reading your Tweets :]"^__^ Thanks Dee.
I really must get down to writing more novels and screenplays. Twitter was a great way to loose time.
LOOKMAN
Hi J.K.
I just added you to our group's Twitter listing and I am also now following your Tweets :]

You are right! Twitter looks a less attractive takeover. When my twitter worked Friendsfeed was a good addition to Twitter. What I never understood was why so many applications were allowed on twitter. Many sought to make money by selling links to more friends etc. I never understood why it was not taken in house.
The Twitter problems were apparently caused by some unknown Russian group (FSB anyone?) targeting one Twitter user, a Georgian dissident. The denial of service (DOS) attack, flooded they guy's website and address with millions of tweets and and posts from a net of zombie (controlled without the user's knowledge) PCs - a so called botnet. In the process, it brought down the entire Twitter site. The Georgian's Facebook site was also targetted, and Facebook suffered a degradation of service, but not an outright collapse.
I was lucky. I was away from the internet during this period. I haven't noticed any chnage in the service; but I think that Twitter should have instituted counter-measures much sooner, and should have had preventative load switching and bandwidth measures in place to prevent such a collapse occurring in the first place.
I have just given up with twitter. Al the recent changes have just made it useless to me. I have been assured for months my link http://twitter.com/lookman_author was on-line and working. That is so far from the truth. Now they have deleted around 5000 followers. The sooner some one else takes over twitter the better.
