Well, then they can just go to Burger King and get the big square butt meal (for kids), cause that's just so much more appropriate! ;-)
LOL! that would be so funny! A moon and cresent eye in a Happy Meals? Oh my god I would scream my head off if I was a younger kid. Now I'd probably be like Gemma's neckalce! That is soo cool!
I absolutely love the books! I had been reading The Sweet Far thing for about a week, then the day I finished it, I was so sad! I'm probably going to re-read them again some time soon after I finish my stack of omnipresent books!
LOL! That would be soooooooooo funny! I think that the necklace Idea is amazing! I would love to see it!
Hi Kaitie! Great books, huh! I like the idea of having some items made(or patterns and ideas to make) that reflect the stories. My sister is in a Jane Austen knitting group that reads the different books and then makes things based on the characters (socks mostly). And there is a load of Twilight stuff to make. I think the girls from Spence should have all sorts of related items as well (LOL, if a movie is made there will probably be some Happy Meal toys to go with).
Hi! Thanks :)
Oh, it wasn't your fault :) It was just because I hadn't read the last book yet and I didn't realize what TSFT Spoilers meant. :D
Hi! I'm new, :)
I saw this group before and looked at some of the discussions, but I was really confused because I haven't read the last book. But now I have and absolutely love it! So i'm back :)
Well, it was in the package sent to a fellow knitter for the mystery exchange I did. Hopefully she'll post a picture soon, because I neglected to take one! Silly me, still not thinking digital pictures!
It turned out pretty well. I made it small so it could be fired with a butane torch (as opposed to a kiln). Fun stuff to work with and lots of interesting possibilities. It was a lot like working with play doh (only it is 99% silver after it dries and you fire it). The one I made looks pretty much like Allie's and Emma's descriptions, the eye is hanging below the moon (hooked by a little jump ring) but the metal is new, so it's fairly shiny.
Seems like there's some female symbology regarding the crescent facing up (like a cup). I thought about trying to do that, but thought the points might tend to poke a person. The two symbols do have interesting design potential.
I imagine it as a cresent moon with an eye attached onto the bottom off to the open side, a silver beat up metal
Hmm, I envision the necklace being a cresent and then an eye below it, connected by a metal chain. It's hammered metal in my head.
