898008 Well, then they can just go to Burger King and get the big square butt meal (for kids), cause that's just so much more appropriate! ;-)

2254001 If that happens, I'd like to know what the verdict will be.

937938 Then people would try to sue McDonalds for trying to convert their children to devil worshipers.

message 24: by ♥BookGeek♥ (new)

2254001 I could almost picture it: "Mommy, why's there some wierd hex in my Happy Meals?"

message 23: by Minnie (new)

1297177 I agree

message 22: by Jessalina (new)

937938 I can already see the Happy Meal toys. How odd that would be.

1298891 yea same

2254001 LOL! that would be so funny! A moon and cresent eye in a Happy Meals? Oh my god I would scream my head off if I was a younger kid. Now I'd probably be like Gemma's neckalce! That is soo cool!

message 16: by Kaitie♥ (new)

1351890 I absolutely love the books! I had been reading The Sweet Far thing for about a week, then the day I finished it, I was so sad! I'm probably going to re-read them again some time soon after I finish my stack of omnipresent books!

LOL! That would be soooooooooo funny! I think that the necklace Idea is amazing! I would love to see it!

898008 Hi Kaitie! Great books, huh! I like the idea of having some items made(or patterns and ideas to make) that reflect the stories. My sister is in a Jane Austen knitting group that reads the different books and then makes things based on the characters (socks mostly). And there is a load of Twilight stuff to make. I think the girls from Spence should have all sorts of related items as well (LOL, if a movie is made there will probably be some Happy Meal toys to go with).

1351890 Hi! Thanks :)

Oh, it wasn't your fault :) It was just because I hadn't read the last book yet and I didn't realize what TSFT Spoilers meant. :D

611251 Hi Kaitie! Sorry it was confusing! Welcome to the group!

1351890 Hi! I'm new, :)
I saw this group before and looked at some of the discussions, but I was really confused because I haven't read the last book. But now I have and absolutely love it! So i'm back :)

message 11: by Lisa (new)

898008 Well, it was in the package sent to a fellow knitter for the mystery exchange I did. Hopefully she'll post a picture soon, because I neglected to take one! Silly me, still not thinking digital pictures!

message 10: by Jenny, Well you better PAY UP NOW ALLIE (new)

1188252 Sweet! You are so lucky!

1298891 it sounds really cool!

611251 Wow Lisa, it sounds great! If you could get a picture, that would be fabulous!

898008 It turned out pretty well. I made it small so it could be fired with a butane torch (as opposed to a kiln). Fun stuff to work with and lots of interesting possibilities. It was a lot like working with play doh (only it is 99% silver after it dries and you fire it). The one I made looks pretty much like Allie's and Emma's descriptions, the eye is hanging below the moon (hooked by a little jump ring) but the metal is new, so it's fairly shiny.

Seems like there's some female symbology regarding the crescent facing up (like a cup). I thought about trying to do that, but thought the points might tend to poke a person. The two symbols do have interesting design potential.

message 6: by (G)Emma , Huh, jenny? (new)

611251 It's not the Order necklace, it's just a normal necklace.

message 5: by Katie (new)

1792831 hey take a look a the cover of rebel angels. it has a picture of gemma with the necklace on.

message 4: by Allie, You're so very special, I wish I was special (new)

835716 I imagine it as a cresent moon with an eye attached onto the bottom off to the open side, a silver beat up metal

message 3: by Minnie (new)

1297177 i imagine it just as being an outline of a crescent moon that's flat and made of black metal.

message 2: by (G)Emma , Huh, jenny? (new)

611251 Hmm, I envision the necklace being a cresent and then an eye below it, connected by a metal chain. It's hammered metal in my head.

message 1: by Lisa (new)

898008 I'm going to try to make my own version of "the necklace" using low-fire precious metal clay. The problem is, I'm not really liking how the thing looks in my head. A crescent...a moon? an eye? It has a flat back? How do you see the pendant that Gemma's mother gave her?
