Last time we read Cory Doctorow's Little Brother, which I thought was a great pick, in that anybody could understand it, but the issues involved were very complex. Ideally, I'd like to pick a book similar to that.
Cynthia: yes, we have several different book clubs that meet at our store. Check out this Book Club page on our website for a complete schedule:

I would love to participate in an in person book club.We spend so much of our time on the computers these days, live human interaction is so refreshing.
As far as book suggestions, I'd love to say Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace, but that isn't likely what you're looking for. So what about a Paulo Coelho book? Or a book of short stories from "The Best of" series? That way we get to discover several new authors we've never heard of before. I'd like a story that isn't handed to you but has room for endless interpretation, and will hopefully encourage interesting debate and discussion.
What book did you guys do last time? The facebook link didn't work for me.
Thanks,
Jody
Hi Patrick,
I know Vroman's used to have an in person book club. I think it was in the '90's. Do you know if it's still active?
Cynthia
Hey Vroman's Bookstore people!
I've just added our March events to Goodreads, so check that out.
Also, we're getting ready to pick the book for our second online book club. Does anyone have any suggestions? We ran the last one over at Facebook, and we didn't get a ton of participation. We'd like to pick a book that anybody 14+ can enjoy.
