2585236 bank holiday
another gust through the schoolyard swings

687549 Can I have a gift
prisons do not close our hearts
giving raises my head

429846 Strum, strum. Out of tune.
With great enthusiasm,
guitar matches voice.

Late on Christmas day,
bridge for amplification
discovered in bag.

"This needs to go on!"
But...our boy doesn't like it.
It might chip the paint.

So, the sound is dull,
not resonating nor tuned.
Perfectly pitched Joy!

678071 yup it's a u2 reference. glad you noticed.

Time for a new theme now that the holidays are over. I'll have to think of something.

I look forward to your haiku info - sounds mysterious and exciting!

124482 Arctic, this reminds me of U2...

"All is quiet on New Year's Day
A world in white gets underway"

I have some info on haikus I'm going to post when I get organized...

678071 All is quiet on
New Year's Day. Truly, nothing
much changes at all.

429846 Five year old boy wants
"rock-n-roll 'lectric guitar"
for jammin' with dad

daddy does research
wants quality instrument
mom understands not

mom purchases toy
acoustic as it can be
"he'll love it" she says

Christmas morning comes
son thrilled to have his 'lectric
guitar. It is red!

Dad starts tuning it
"I don't care what it sounds like"
says boy. Mom's all smiles.

678071 winter blizzards and
already five feet of snow.
driving will be fun.

message 6: by Arctic (new)

678071 oh my gosh! festive
that is not - so sorry to
hear! hope you're all safe.

346802 Evergreen - tall, proud
stood sentinel over gifts
Soon will be kindling

Fire just punishment
for abandoning its post
on Christmas morning

Shattered ornaments,
Hardwood floor gouged, pine-sticky
sharp, sad wet mess made.

(True story: our tree
fell over, fully trimmed, lit.
Dad chopped it to bits.)

678071 Seasonal Want Ad

Patient polar bear
in search of intelligent
yet careless reindeer.

message 3: by Arctic (new)

678071 Pretty paper and
pretty ribbon, so true, and
bright Christmas lights too.

message 2: by Robbie (new)

429846 presents for baby
crinkly paper, shiny bows
wrap diapers and wipes

message 1: by Arctic (new)

678071 baby's first christmas
thank goodness she doesn't know
who Santa Claus is.
