Post#1 said 2/24/09 ends nominaitons and the poll will be from 2/25/09 to 2/28/09, so a couple more days to go. Hope this helps.

1999624 I'm assuming that were just giving nominations and Emilee will set up a poll shortly. I'm new and this is just a guess!

1662951 How come there aren't any polls yet on our book nominations for our March Group Read?

message 18: by Christina Stind (new)

565777 Hehe - okay. Well, I hope to get around to giving it a go at some point this year.

message 17: by Christina Stind (new)

565777 That's my plan, actually. I haven't read much Updike and to my understanding, these are good books so I will tackle them at some point.
I like the idea of them so I will definitely give it a go.
Have you read them, Richard?

I also plan on reading all of Philip Roth's Zuckerman books at some point...

message 16: by KrisT (new)

700236 I have Rabbit Run home from the library so regardless if it gets picked our not I will probably read it soon and then go from there on the rest if I like it. If it doesn't get picked maybe we can have a thread on here about it anyway?

message 15: by Emily (new)

976884 I guess that depends on if I like the first one haha

message 14: by Christina Stind (new)

565777 Uh, Emily, Rabbit, Run is also a book that I've been wanting to read for a long time. So like that suggestion as well - but I don't own it (yet), so I think I will stick to The Pillars of the Earth... Maybe for a later month! ;-)

1999624 I just read the reviews for "An American Tragedy" and it sounds like a good read, especially with our declining economy. It sounds like an interesting view of how our world works.

Utopia sounds like a fun Scifi read as well.

message 12: by Emily (new)

976884 I'm trying to get through all the unread books I have on my book shelf! So I nominate Rabbit, Runby John Updike

message 11: by Donna (new)

1334924 Briidge of Sighs by Richard Russo

message 10: by KrisT (new)

700236 An American Tragedy by Dreiser

565777 I can see that both Chantelle and jzhunagev already have nominated The Pillars of the Earth so I will just support that - otherwise, I don't think I'll ever get the book read!

message 8: by Catamorandi (new)

754081 The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood
