803515 We're not counting re-reads, right? Not that I've re-read anything so far this year, but I usually do...

Okay, here are my "So far" books:

(I will admit, I prefer genre books to "literature.")

1. Running Hot by Jayne Ann Krentz Running Hot (Arcane Society, Book 5)
This was lighter than her usual reads, but still satisfying to me. Hit the spot.

2. Reining in the Rancher by Karen Templeton Reining In The Rancher (Silhouette Special Edition)
Terrible title, but a good read. Templeton always is.

3. Dark of Night by Suzanne Brockmann Dark of Night (Troubleshooters #14)
I liked it. A lot.

4. Stay the Night by Lynn Viehl Stay the Night (Darkyn, Book 7)
This one felt a little short--too much plot, I think. Liked it, but not as well as some of her others.

message 2: by Gail (new)

803515 Well, phooey. I hit "post" too soon. I had a couple of others to add here...

like:
5. The Bride's Baby by Liz Fielding The Bride's Baby (Harlequin Romance)
Light and sweet. Enjoyable.

6. My Immortal Protector by Jen Holling My Immortal Protector
Not your usual vampire story. Set in 1600s Scotland.

7. The Single Dad's New-Year Bride by Amy Andrews (no cover)
Another nice little read.

8. Baby Be Mine by Eve Gaddy Baby Be Mine (Harlequin Superromance)
I really liked this one a lot. A perfect Harlequin Superromance.

9. A Bride for His Convenience by Edith Layton A Bride for His Convenience
Finished this one this a.m. Needed a little historical break from the contemporaries. :) It's another solid Layton read.

message 3: by Gail (last edited Feb 15, 2009 05:47PM) (new)

803515 Have a couple more to put on the list. Or maybe just one more... No, two. I was right.

10. The Right Mr. Wrong by Cindy Myers The Right Mr. Wrong (Harlequin American Romance Series)
Good solid romance. About skiing. Nice.

and

11. Naughty or Nice by Sherry Browning Erwin Naughty Or Nice
A paranormal romance that is very light on the paranormal. Nice read.

message 4: by Gail (new)

803515 I'm stuck in the middle of a couple of reads, but got all the way through this quick light book today at lunch.

12. Bought: One Night, One Marriage by Natalie AndersonBought One Night, One Marriage (Harlequin Presents)
It was a nice little read.

message 5: by Gail (new)

803515 A few more books. Finished the ones I was stuck on:

13. Sweet Surrender, by Maya Banks Sweet Surrender (Sweet Series, #1)
Pretty good erotica, but this particular lean isn't mine.

14. Where the Heart Leads, by Stephanie Laurens Where the Heart Leads (Casebook of Barnaby Adair, Book 1)
Better than average Laurens.

15. The Accidental Demon Slayer, by Angie Fox The Accidental Demon Slayer
Not bad for a first book, but it had some holes.

16. The Sharing Knife: Horizon, by Lois McMaster Bujold The Sharing Knife Horizon (Volume 4)
Another good one by the master.

I have some challenge books I need to read too...

message 6: by Gail (new)

803515 One more finished.
17. Kitty and the Dead Man's Hand by Carrie Vaughn Kitty and the Dead Man's Hand (Kitty Norville, Book 5)

I liked it, but I thought Kitty was a little passive in this book. She got rescued, rather than rescuing herself. Still, it was a good read.

And Vaughn's got a Brand New Book out THIS MONTH!! Must get. Must read.

I have a lot of books on my *Want.* list.

message 7: by Gail (new)

803515 18. The Sins of Lord Easterbrook by Madeline Hunter
The Sins of Lord Easterbrook (Rothwell #4)
Overall, I liked it, but there were bits of it that made me uncomfortable.

19. Sabriel by Garth Nix Sabriel (The Abhorsen Trilogy, #1)
Liked this one okay. I thought the emotional content was a tad thin, but it's a YA. Sometimes they are.

Currently reading Silent in the Grave by Deanna Raybourn.

message 8: by Gail (new)

803515 I've been really busy, so I just now finished
20. Silent in the Grave by Deanna Raybourn Silent In The Grave

I liked it quite a bit, though it is slow paced, and I'm not usually fond of a slow pace. Raybourn made me enjoy it, though. I may pick up her Silent On The Moor soon.

Currently reading: Mortal Sins by Eileen Wilks.

message 9: by Gail (new)

803515 21. Mortal Sins by Eileen Wilks Mortal Sins (The World of the Lupi, Book 5)
Liked this one a lot. Rule and Lily are two of my favorite Wilks characters.

22. The Shadow Queen by Anne Bishop The Shadow Queen A Black Jewels Novel
Stayed up WAY too late to read this. Liked it--though I kind of wish Bishop would leave her Black Jewels characters to rest for a little while.

23. Tempted All Night by Liz Carlisle Tempted All Night
Liked this a lot too. I've been reading some real winners.

currently reading Kiss of a Demon King by Kresley Cole...

message 10: by Gail (new)

803515 24. Promises in Death by J.D. Robb Promises in Death (In Death Series, Book #28)
Totally enjoyable read. Robb/Roberts is always reliable. It's why I read it... Kind of a stressful weekend.

Still reading the Kresley Cole book...

message 11: by Gail (new)

803515 Haven't read but a few pages this week.

I'm busy writing. The book I "have" to write, and one that's smacked me like a brick in the head. So far, it's more fun to write than to read. When that changes, I'll read again...

message 12: by Gail (new)

803515 Finished one. STILL reading the Cole book. Got a little bogged down. But I finished:

25. FIRST COMES MARRIAGE by Mary Balogh. First Comes Marriage (Huxtable Quintet, #1)

Enjoyed it. Maybe not as much as I've enjoyed some of her others, but I did like it. Balogh v. Balogh? This one's down a little. Balogh v. other authors? It's still way up there...

message 13: by Gail (new)

803515 Okay, snitched a book from the "sent in for review" stacks at the paper, because I Totally wanted to read it BAD. Finished it yesterday.

26. SMOOTH TALKING STRANGER by Lisa Kleypas. Smooth Talking Stranger

Enjoyed it a lot. Very smooth read.

And I have FINALLY finished
27. KISS OF A DEMON KING by Kresley Cole. Kiss of a Demon King (Immortals After Dark, #7)

I had a little trouble getting into this, but once she finally got past the revenge teasing scenes, I enjoyed it. Of course, that was like 2/3 of the way through the book... Anyway. It's read.

message 14: by Gail (new)

803515 28. Hope's Folly by Linnea Sinclair Hope's Folly

Started on this yesterday, and got sucked in so tight, I had to finish it last night. Excellent read--lots of fast, fast paced action. Right up my alley. :) Oh, and the romance was good too.

message 15: by Gail (new)

803515 29. Wicked Intentions by Lydia Joyce Wicked Intentions

Good one. Very dark.

30. The Undead Next Door by Kerrelyn Sparks The Undead Next Door (Love At Stake #4)

Liked this one a lot. It's a RITA finalist in the Paranormal Romance category.

message 16: by Gail (new)

803515 I've been re-reading this weekend, too. Re-read: Swallowing Darkness (Meredith Gentry 7) Running Hot (Arcane Society, Book 5) Dark of Night (Troubleshooters #14) Lord of Scoundrels (Scoundrels, #3)... And I've downloaded a bunch of books to the Reader...

message 17: by Gail (new)

803515 31. Educating Caroline by Patricia Cabot. Educating Caroline

This story had a cute premise, and its execution was pretty good. But there were such HUGE problems with the research/historical accuracy, I kept getting dragged out of the story--and sometimes knocked out. I'll probably rate it with 3 stars, but it did have some serious problems.

message 18: by Gail (last edited Apr 03, 2009 01:45PM) (new)

803515 32. Angel's Blood by Nalini Singh. Angels' Blood (Guild Hunters, Book 1)

This was a Great Read for me. It's very dark urban fantasy, but had a good ending. Dark as Kim Harrison or Rachel Caine or early Anita Blake--but with a good ending. I really liked it.

Now I'm reading Then Comes Seduction by Mary Balogh.

message 19: by Gail (last edited Apr 06, 2009 03:10PM) (new)

803515 Read a lot over the weekend.

33. Then Comes Seduction by Mary Balogh Then Comes Seduction (Huxtable Quintet, #2)
Liked this one a lot. It took a little bit different path. I found her use of omniscient viewpoint interesting.

34. The Warlord's Daughter by Susan Grant The Warlord's Daughter

Enjoyed this read too. Looking forward to future stories.

35. Stranded With a Spy by Merline Lovelace Stranded With A Spy (Codename Danger) (Silhouette Romantic Suspense #1483)

I thought this one was nice. I liked her dark moment and how she solved it.

36. Echoes in the Dark by Robin D. Owens Echoes In The Dark (The Summoning, Book 5)

A good wrap up to Owens' summoning series.

Now I'm reading Kitty Raises Hell by Carrie Vaughn. (I'm adding this info for myself so I know where to go back to when I come here next.)

message 20: by Gail (new)

803515 I stayed home Tuesday, and basically read all day, though I should have been writing. (Oh well.)

So.
37. Kitty Raises Hell by Carrie Vaughn. Kitty Raises Hell (Kitty Norville, Book 6)

Okay, so I couldn't remember this title as anything but "Kitty Goes to Hell" and wasn't sure I wanted to read about Kitty the Werewolf going to hell, because I was pretty sure it would be literal, and hell isn't a place I'd like to go--but it's NOT the title. She just Raises hell--which could be literal... But isn't. There's a demon in it. And it's good. And I liked it.

38. Scandal by Carolyn Jewel. Scandal (Berkley Sensation)
This one was a slow read for me, but I really, really liked it.

39. Duainfey by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller. Duainfey
A traditional view of the Fey, though a very non-traditional view of how fey and humans interact. It was a tough read, because the heroine was cruelly used. I liked it pretty well, though.

40. The Wicked Ways of a True Hero by Barbara Metzger. The Wicked Ways of a True Hero
Liked this one too. Regency, with a smidgen of paranormalish things.

41. The Moretti Heir by Katherine Garbera. The Moretti Heir (Silhouette Desire)
Nice story, fast read.

42. Bargained Into Her Boss's Bed by Emilie Rose. Bargained Into Her Boss's Bed (Silhouette Desire)
Horrible title. Pretty good book.

Now reading A Lie for a Lie by Emilie Richards. (Not the same Emilie. Rose is a friend of mine.)

message 21: by Gail (new)

803515 One more.

43. A Lie for a Lie by Emilie Richards. A Lie for a Lie (Ministry is Murder Mystery)
Fun mystery with a pastor's wife sleuth...

message 22: by Gail (new)

803515 Rainy weekend, read a lot.

44. Wanderlust by Ann Aguirre Wanderlust (Jax, Book 2)
Liked it, even though sometimes it felt a little episodic...

45. The Smoke Thief by Shana Abe The Smoke Thief (Drakon, Book 1)
Liked this one a lot, once I finally plowed through that plaguey prologue. One of my TBR Challenge reads, so now I have 3 of those done.

46. Secret Baby, Public Affair by Yvonne Lindsay Secret Baby, Public Affair (Desire)
(Don't know why they don't have her cover) I liked this one. It had a nice balance between the hero and heroine.

47. The Snow Queen by Mercedes Lackey The Snow Queen (Five Hundred Kingdoms, Book 4)
Enjoyed this one.

48. The Texas Ranger by Jan Hudson The Texas Ranger (Texas Outlaws) (Harlequin American Romance #1162)
This one was nice. A TBR Challenge read that had been sitting on my shelves a long time.

49. The Secret Wedding by Jo Beverley The Secret Wedding (Malloren, #9)
Enjoyed this one a lot. I like the Georgian era stories.

I'm currently reading Night Huntress by Yasmine Galenorn.

message 23: by Gail (last edited Apr 23, 2009 03:24PM) (new)

803515 Another rainy weekend when I did not want to do anything... Should have, but didn't. So again, I read a lot.

50. Night Huntress by Yasmine Galenorn. Night Huntress (Sisters of the Moon, Book 5)
It took me a while to get into this. It was a decent enough read, but I had trouble getting involved in the story.

51. Death Perception by Victoria Laurie Death Perception (Psychic Eye Mystery, Book 6)
Enjoyed this one a fair bit.

52. Kiss of Fate by Deborah Cooke Kiss of Fate A Dragonfire Novel
Nice read. Brought the Dragonfire series to a possible conclusion, but left it open for more too.

53. Too Good to be True by Kristan Higgins Too Good To Be True
I liked this one a lot, right up to the black moment, which didn't make sense to me--probably because the story was in 1st person POV of the heroine, and it was the hero's anger over something the heroine did that didn't make sense. And we didn't get his POV. So... Otherwise, I really liked it a lot, and that wasn't enough to be too overly bothersome.

54. The Price of Desire by Jo Goodman Price Of Desire
I really, really liked this book. I thought it was a fabulous read. I did wonder if there was any horrible thing the heroine DIDN'T suffer in her past, since the horrors did get to feeling a little piled on, but mostly, I just loved the reading experience.

55. Talk of the Town by Karen Hawkins Talk of the Town
This was a cute read. Sometimes it felt a tad too cute, but I enjoyed it.

I am 1/3 of the way through this challenge...

Now I'm reading an alternate worlds WWII historical, INTO THE STORM by Taylor Anderson

message 24: by Gail (last edited Apr 23, 2009 03:26PM) (new)

803515 56. Into the Storm by Taylor Anderson Into the Storm Destroyermen, Book I
Very interesting. Not enough to buy the next books in hardcover, but I will get them and read them--when they reach softcover prices.

57. The Bishop at the Lake by Andrew Greeley The Bishop at the Lake A Bishop Blackie Ryan Novel (Blackie Ryan)
Greeley's getting preachier as he gets older, but still an entertaining read.

58. Homespun Bride by Jillian Hart Homespun Bride (The McKaslin Clan, Book 15)
Nice story but almost too sweet for me...

Haven't started on another book yet. (Counted one book twice, so I'm not Quite as far along as I thought...)

message 25: by Gail (new)

803515 I've got another one in:

59. The Children's Doctor and the Single Mom by Lillian Darcy. The Children's Doctor and the Single Mom (Harlequin Medical Romance, 369)
I'm going to try to read some award finalists before the awards are presented. This was a good one.

I'm reading Falling For the Lone Wolf right now.

message 26: by Gail (new)

803515 60. Falling for the Lone Wolf, by Crystal Green Falling For The Lone Wolf (Silhouette Special Edition)

Very good read. Liked it a lot.

61. Rewriting Monday by Jodi Thomas Rewriting Monday
I pretty much like anything Jodi Thomas writes, but I've enjoyed her contemporaries a lot.

62. Warning Signs by C.J. Lyons Warning Signs
Another good read by Lyons. This one felt more "series-y" and not like the book wrapped things up--lots of loose ends. But I enjoyed it a lot.

63. Antonides' Forbidden Wife by Anne McAllister Antonides' Forbidden Wife (Harlequin Presents)
This was an excellent book. Liked it a whole lot--it's a Harlequin Presents, but the hero wasn't the usual jerk and the heroine wasn't the usual doormat, so it had a really good jerk/doormat ratio.

Currently reading Darkfever by Karen Marie Monning. It's interesting, so far. Not quite sure what I think of it yet...

message 27: by Gail (last edited May 01, 2009 02:39PM) (new)

803515 64. Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning Darkfever (Fever, #1)
Still not quite sure what I think of it...

65. At Last Comes Love by Mary Balogh At Last Comes Love (Huxtable Quintet, #3)
Liked this one a whole lot. This whole series has been about love coming from the place least expected, and this one fit the bill.

Currently reading One Forbidden Evening by Jo Goodman. Going out of town this weekend, so I'll be reading e-books for a while...

message 28: by Gail (new)

803515 66. One Forbidden Evening by Jo Goodman One Forbidden Evening (Zebra Historical Romance)
This one was very good. I'm going to be looking up Lots more Goodman...

67. Always a Scoundrel by Suzanne Enoch Always a Scoundrel
Liked this one a whole lot too. Hero is a rake who shocks himself by behaving altruistically, while intending through the whole first part of the book not to do it.

68. Three Nights of Sin by Anne Mallory Three Nights of Sin
This was an excellent book too. Desperate heroine, hero who thinks he's one thing, but really isn't... Great story. Loved it.

69. Snowbound by Janice Kay Johnson Snowbound (Harlequin Superromance)
One of my free Harlequin e-books. It was a great read. Don't remember what line it's from--

70. The Lost Fleet: Relentless by Jack Campbell Relentless (The Lost Fleet, Book 5)
I've really enjoyed this series. It's "Horatio Hornblower in space." Sort of. In this one, the lost fleet finally gets home--but the series isn't over yet!

I'm currently reading To Beguile a Beast by Elizabeth Hoyt.

message 29: by Gail (new)

803515 71. To Beguile a Beast by Elizabeth Hoyt To Beguile A Beast (The Legend of the Four Soldiers, #3)
Liked this one a whole lot. I've loved Hoyt since I first read her--think I started with her 2nd book...

72. True Deception by Patricia Waddell True Deception
Nice science fiction-romance. Lots of action.

Currently reading Lover Avenged by J.R. Ward. It is a FAT book... (I bought the hardback--if I'm paying that much, I want something physical)

message 30: by Gail (new)

803515 73. Lover Avenged by J.R. Ward Lover Avenged (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #7)
Someone has mentioned that these books are like crack. No good for you, but you can't quit. I agree. Stayed up WAY late last night to finish it. Liked this one better than Lover Enshrined...

Haven't decided what to start next...

message 31: by Gail (new)

803515 74. Vision in White by Nora Roberts Vision In White (Bride Quartet #1)
Pure romance. Loved the dialogue!

75. Sea Lord by Virginia Kantra Sea Lord (Children of the Sea, #3)
Liked it--felt a little thin to me, tho.

76. The Secret Swan by Shana Abe The Secret Swan
Straight historical romance. I expected something paranormal, but no... A good read.

message 32: by Kittiya (new)

1806530 wow Gail! Your list is great I've gone through and added a lot of them to my To Read list. I love the way you put up the cover and give a little description. Thanks! :)

message 33: by Gail (new)

803515 You bet, Kittiya. I like to find new things to read this way too. I'm always looking, because I'm such an addict! (Books--the legal crack!)

message 34: by Kittiya (new)

1806530 lol, sooo true!

message 35: by Megan (new)

2227395 You're half way to 150 and it's not even June! Good for you, I'm jealous! lol We do have allot of book in common, I’ve added some of your books to my to-read list. ^^

message 36: by Gail (new)

803515 Got another one read.

77. The Dawn Star by Catherine Asaro The Dawn Star
I liked this book quite a bit. Lots of action, lots of plot twists. It was a fun read. I think it was the wrap-up for her Luna books.

I am now reading Silver Falls by Anne Stuart, and it's creeping me out a lot. I'm not a big fan of psychopath serial killer books...

message 37: by Kittiya (new)

1806530 I'm not a big fan of them either... there kindia like a car accident you can't help but to keep looking even though you know you shouldn't.
I tend to read one or two a year. My imagination always get the best of me during and after reading one.

message 38: by Gail (new)

803515 LOL, Kittiya. You have it exactly. Those serial killers {shudder} Give me a cereal killer, like in Susan Elizabeth Philips's Nobody's Baby But Mine... I still love that book.

message 39: by Gail (new)

803515 Been reading a lot. Been out of town, so haven't posted them here...

78. Afterburn by S.L. Viehl Afterburn Bio Rescue #2
Main characters were dolphin-like aliens. Interesting read.

79. Gale Force by Rachel Caine Gale Force (Weather Warden, #7)
Caine is SO mean to her characters. It was a good read, but I did NOT like the ending. Meanie.

80. Flowers on Main by Sheryl Woods Flowers On Main (Chesapeake Shores, No. 2)
Nice woman's fictiony romance.

81. Hotshot by Catherine Mann Hotshot (Dark Ops, #2)
I think I read this on the airplane in my Sony Reader. Nice military romance. I like Mann's stuff.

82. A Husband's Wicked Ways by Jane Feather A Husband's Wicked Ways (Cavendish Square #3)
This is the last book in her series about friends who go share a house in London. It was excellent--though a little light on the romance side, IMO. Not much...

83. In Care of Sam Beaudry by Kathleen Eagle In Care Of Sam Beaudry (Silhouette Special Edition)
Series romance--a nice one. I liked it a lot.

84. Under Her Skin by Susan Mallery Under Her Skin (Lone Star Sisters #1)
Start of a new Mallery series. I just like Mallery.

85. Diamond by Sharon Sala Diamond (Gambler's Daughters Trilogy, Book I)
This one's been around a long time. It's a big contemporary romance, no suspense (not really)--just a nice, emotional romance. Really enjoyed it.

I've read more, but I can't remember what they are, so I'll just stop now...

message 40: by Kittiya (new)

hmm never heard of that one, I will have to check it out. I put it on my TBR list. Thanks

message 41: by Gail (new)

803515 The S.E. Philips books are great comedies, with heart. I really love them.

message 42: by Gail (last edited Jul 24, 2009 03:16PM) (new)

803515 New books on the list. I'm still forgetting some, I'm sure. Hmm. I mentioned that I was reading Silver Falls, but not that I finished it. (Which I did.) So...

86. Silver Falls by Anne Stuart Silver Falls
Really creepy bad guy. Not as good as some of hers, but readable. (I wanted to smack the heroine upside the head for being so clueless a few times, too.)

87. The Surgeon's Lady by Carla Kelly The Surgeon's Lady (Harlequin Historical Series)
Liked this one quite a bit.

88. Blaze of Glory by Catherine Mann Blaze Of Glory
I don't remember whether I read this one before or after the other Catherine Mann book, but around the same time. This one takes place in Africa. Hero and heroine dated a couple of times before, but no more than that.

89. Skin Trade by Laurell K. Hamilton Skin Trade (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #17)
It had flaws, but I enjoyed it anyway. I thought the ending was too rushed and some of the bad guy battles skimmed over.

90. Regenesis by C.J. Cherryh Regenesis (Cyteen, Book 2) (Unionside, Book 3) (Alliance-Union Universe)
Enjoyed this one, but I couldn't remember much of its predecessors.

Which is why I'm now reading Downbelow Station now that I've found my own copies. DS is the 3rd book in the Company Wars. I don't remember reading the earlier ones so I need to put those on my TBR list. I do remember reading nearly everything else Cherryh has written...

message 43: by Gail (new)

803515 91. The Big Bad Wolf Tells All by Donna Kauffman

92. Heat Lightning by Colleen Thompson

93. An Infamous Army by Georgette Heyer

94. The Rake's Unconventional Mistress by juliet London

95. The Billionaire Takes a Bride by Liz Fielding

96. Baby's Watch by Justine Davis

97. Hard Lovin' Man by Lorraine Heath

message 44: by Gail (last edited Jul 27, 2009 02:58PM) (new)

803515 It's been a while since I put any books on here. I may be off by a few...

Okay, here's some more:

98. Red-headed Stepchild by Jaye Wells Red-Headed Stepchild (Sabina Kane, #1)
It was a decent read, but I'm not sure if I want to read more in the series.

99. The Dream Thief by Shana Abe The Dream Thief (Drakon, #2)
This one made me nervous, early on, but it came through for me. It was a very good read.

100. Too Far Gone by Marliss Melton Too Far Gone (SEAL Team 12, #6)
Pretty good romantic suspense.

101. The Automatic Detective by A. Lee Martinez The Automatic Detective
This one is way out of order, since I finished it in late July, but I was duplicating books, so... This was a fun read about a robot earning his status as fully sentient. Enjoyed it a lot.

102. My Wicked Enemy by Carolyn Jewel My Wicked Enemy
Liked this one a lot. Very different urban fantasy mythology.

103. Lip Service by Susan Mallery Lip Service (Lone Star Sisters #2)
Nice contemporary reunion romance.

104. Don't Bargain With The Devil by Sabrina Jeffries Don't Bargain with the Devil (School for Heiresses, Book 6)
I wasn't sure I'd like this one, but I did. Very interesting. (Though I do think the heroine should have made the hero suffer a little more...he did redeem himself nicely.)

105. Street Magic by Caitlin Kittredge Street Magic (Black London, #1)
Another interesting urban fantasy. This one was more fantasy, less romance, but very interesting.

106. Eternal Craving by Nina Bangs Eternal Craving (Gods of the Night, Book 2)
FINALLY got my hands on this. Excellent read. I do love these wild shapeshifters.

107. Ghouls just haunt to have fun by Victoria Laurie Ghouls Just Haunt to Have Fun (Ghost Hunter Mystery, Book 3)
Nice addition to the ghost-buster mystery series. Lots of ghosts--and a new sidekick.

108. Storm Born by Richelle Mead Storm Born (Dark Swan, #1)
Another interesting urban fantasy, with kitsune, fae and shamans.

109. Seducing an Angel by Mary Balogh Seducing an Angel (Huxtable Quintet, #4)
Picked this one up at the paper. It's the brother's story in the Huxtable series. I'm hoping she's also got cousin Con's story coming up. I liked this one a lot too.

110. Dagger-Star by Elizabeth Vaughn Dagger-Star (Star, #1)
High fantasy, rather than urban. Better than some reviews had led me to believe. I liked it quite well.

111. WWW.Wake by Robert J. Sawyer WWW Wake (Www)
Straight science fiction about how a "computer" might become sentient. It was very interesting, but I thought the author left a lot of threads dangling at the end.

112. Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione Pleasure Unbound (Demonica, #1)
This was a $1.99 e-book promo that did its job. I enjoyed it a lot, and will be looking up other books in the series. Demons are races of creatures created by Satan, not necessarily evil, potentially redeemable. The series is about a particular type of incubus demon... But it may branch off into a werewolf or other areas... Dunno. I'll have to see. :)

message 45: by Gail (new)

803515 113. She's No Angel by Leslie Kelly She's No Angel
Cute read. Enjoyed it.

114. Talk me Down by Victoria Dahl Talk Me Down (Tumble Creek, #1)
This was cute and hot. Enjoyed it a lot too.

115. His Lady Mistress by Elizabeth Rolls His Lady Mistress
This is the book with the heroine whose father was a suicide. Liked it a lot. I'll be looking for more Elizabeth Rolls books...

Seems like I may have read something else yesterday, but maybe not... Oh, I did read a Catherine Asaro novella I'd had hanging around a long time. Don't remember the name of it.

message 46: by Gail (new)

803515 116. This Duchess of Mine by Eloisa James This Duchess of Mine

Liked this one a lot. James has been building up to this story for a long time, though her Duchess series, and finally, we're here. But it looks as if she's got MORE duchess stories to come. Oh Boy.

117. Dancing in the Moonlight by Raeanne Thayne Dancing In The Moonlight (Cowboys of Cold Creek, #2) (Silhouette Special Edition)
Very good series romance. Heroine is military reserve who lost a leg in Afghanistan. Liked it a lot.

803515 I read a few books over the weekend, at ApolloCon in Houston. Fun weekend.

118. Dragonheart by Todd McCaffrey Dragonheart Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern (Dragonriders of Pern, The)
Liked it overall. There was some chitchat he could have cut out, but once the story really got rolling, I enjoyed it.

119. Fool Moon by Jim Butcher Fool Moon (The Dresden Files, #2)
The son went out and got the first 4 or 5 books in the series--I had a copy of Storm Front, the first Harry Dresden--so while I'm waiting for the month to turn, I'm reading these. I liked this one, but darn, Harry really gets beat up. I'm surprised he can stay upright, much less work magic, in the condition he spends most of the book in...

I read another one that I bought at ApolloCon, and I liked it, but darned if I can remember what it is now. Grr.

803515 Ha! Finally remembered the other book I got at ApolloCon (because I found it).

120. Endless Blue by Wen Spencer Endless Blue

Rip-roaring space adventure with 3-D characters and emotion as well as scientifiction stuff.

121. Grave Peril by Jim Butcher Grave Peril (The Dresden Files, #3)

A good read. I like the Harry Dresden books--but I think I'm going to have to leave gaps of time between reading them also, because Butcher likes to beat Harry up a lot. I have to have time to give him time to heal up.

122. Desire Unchained by Larissa Ione Desire Unchained (Demonica, #2)

I liked this one, and I didn't. There were parts of it I found very hard to read--I think the hero and heroine behaved stupidly from time to time, and I'm really not into torture, or even reading about it, and I don't like reading villain POVs--and yet, I liked the story overall. Go figure.

Currently reading Lord Braybrook's Penniless Bride by Elizabeth Rolls.

803515 124. Deadly Redemption by Kathleen Korbel Deadly Redemption (Silhouette Nocturne)
Good fae story. Feminist too.

125. Hidden by Eve Kenin Hidden
Good post-apocalyptic story.

126. Marked by Moonlight by Sharie Kohler Marked by Moonlight (Moon Chasers, Book 1)
Good read, though the werewolves were all evil, which is not my favorite kind of were.

127. What happens in London by Julia Quinn What Happens in London
Enjoyed it a lot.

I read more, but don't have time for them now.
