Sweeter and his sister had turtles when they were kids. his dad drilled an itty bitty hole in the shell so they could put the turtles on a "leash" in the backyard. Sweeter's turtle died soon after. His sister's did not.
I had a pest control company for a client in Austin. They told be the best hotels in the city often have bedbugs.
ha! thanks jackie. i am a great santa. i almost cry every year because the kids are so cute. i totally had my Miracle on 34th Street moment when i had a little hispanic girl get on my lap and i spoke espanol to her
Kevin - how many kids do you have? No wonder she's your favorite! Shhhh, we can't let the others hear us.Oh, to have an in at the library. Especially with no fines. Sure, I'd want to get them back on time for other readers, but phew! alittle less pressure if you haven't finished the book yet.
Meanwhile *prods lettuce to the itty bitty turtle*
I used to have a turtle when I was very young, I named him Yurtle. Real original, huh. One day he disappeared, my Mom said he must have gotten out of the fish tank and crawled away. Took me years to realize SHE WAS LYING!
NO! Nononono! *Pokes under Jim's shell to get him back out.*Bad Larry! Bad! *pokes Larry with said stick*
lori - one of my daughter's jobs is to unpack new books. she texts me when they come in and holds them for me on the D.L. she loves me and she's my fav daughter. i got all kind of inside's at the library like the magazine girl, the reference and children's library people etc. i play santa for them at christmas and it pays off
No, it's not that I WANT to correct people's spelling. It's that occasionally I can't help myself.
Diane, I'm a children's and teen librarian, so a lot of my favorites are kids' books. I also love SF and Fantasy. One of my favorite authors is Robin McKinley, who wrote these:
Beauty A Retelling of the Story of Beauty and the Beast
and
The Blue Sword
I also love Diana Wynne Jones and Terry Pratchett, British authors who write funny fantasy. Diana's humor is much, much drier than Terry's though.
I've also read tons of mysteries, though not lately. I think I've read everything by Agatha Christie, most of Ellis Peters, and quite a bit of Anne Perry and Sue Grafton.
Kevin - what was your last name? I'm so reporting you!Wow, I am so jealous. To be one of the first to get an eagerly anticipate book, instead of 240 on the holds list.
Your picture is a lie Larry::drops down to his knees holding his head::
I'm devastated, I thought I knew a Willie Nelson look alike.
my daughter used to say when she was 6 and i took her to the library "when i get older i am going to live AND work here" as she loved the library so muchshe started working there when she was 15 and when she got out of college she began full time there. she is my inside at library and stashes new books and such for me (and no fines)
You have to put some kind of picture up before we can get to know you better. I mean ... even if it's a lie as mine is.
Hi Diane. Welcome to Terminal Coffee.
I have an awful lot of favorite books. Have you got a few hours?
I don't know Diane. I sense you are telling a lie. That's good. You'll fit in here. Go to my profile and you see all of my 4 or 5 star books. Truthfully.
