582715 If you've read Rutherfurd before you know he develops families in place of characters, and part of the fun of his books is going through history with those families. I read Princes of Ireland a year or more ago and just recently read Rebels of Ireland and I wish I had read them back-to-back. I could enjoy the individual characters in Rebels but I kinda lost the feeling for the families having not read Princes right before.

703024 Is it necessary to have read the first book to understand this one? Only because I'm not terribly interested in 1500s-ish history, I'd just like to start with rebels. Anyone who has read both books please let me know!
