1125077 I got 4 swap book packages yesterday. So when I finish No going Home by T.A. Chase(and possibly my last PNR "9" challenge RISEN by J. Knight ) I will check out the first chapter of the new books I got. I won't say I always do that but I usually do that =)

I was reading BK 2 in the Dante Valentine series since I loved WORKING FOR THE DEVIL. But decided to shelf it/save it for a March read.

434780 Finished Witchling by Yasmine Galehorn. Whew, finally. The book did take off the last couple of chapters, but it is not enough to give me the urge to go hunting the next books in the series. Definitely, going to the bottom of my TBR list.

Started Kiss and Tell by Suzanne Brockmann to finish my RRR challenge, and is almost done with the book. If I didn't need any sleep and have to go to work tomorrow, I would have finished it. Cute, simple romance. A light read after that difficult Witchling...LOL

1339156 Just finished Moon Called. It was pretty good. I enjoyed the story but I really would have liked some romance. I guess that's to be expected in UF. I'll read the rest of the series though. Started Wolf Tales II last night. That's the last book in this challenge. Where there was no sex in Moon Called, that's about all there is in the Wolf Tales books but you know that going in so it's all good. I'm going to try really hard to finish it tonight.

Nophoto-f-25x33 I just finished Betrayed by P.C. Cast. So I will start Chosen next.

message 184: by Kenjii (new)

1125077 I am reading a cowboy love story by TA Chase called No Going Home. I started reading TA's blog and loved the short stories and poems and Man Candy! I am liking this novel so far too.

message 183: by Jess (new)

901103 I'm currently reading Legacy.. which is the fourth book in the Ana Strong series. Eh.. I can't help but enjoy PNR more than UF. Too much doom and gloom and running around. Make love not war! lol.

message 182: by Mel (new)

1272028 I started reading Bitten last night. Good so far!

message 181: by Kenjii (last edited Feb 26, 2009 08:04AM) (new)

1125077 I will leave the FEB reader challenges on my CR bookshelf for a couple more days. You never know. I could read a book or 2 in a couple days =). I will start listing my March challenges as I find them =)

I am not sure what I will be reading yet today. I finished and reviewed MARKED by Joely Skye. Very good =)

oh, yeah, Witchling, I'm so glad I'm done with that one...

message 179: by Yz the Whyz (new)

434780 Finished Damned, Delicious and Dangerous today. It was a quick read. Three steamy novellas with sexy heroes (a fallen angel, a vampire and a demon). Plotlines are a little weak, which is understable with the shortened format, but the relationships are pretty sweet.

Now I need three for my RRR challenge and three for my PNR challenge. I just need to finish Witchling since its in both challenges, but darn, this book is a challenge itself to finish..LOL..

1125077 I love the Psy-Changling series. I love shifters. I LOVE LOVE feline shifters =). I do love how Nalini Singh pairs off the Psy's and Changlings. Interesting intimate curiosity.

I finished WHAT WITCHES WANT by Laura Stamps. Loved it =) I started Marked by Joely Skye. It is a m/m PN shifter R. I love shifters. OMG! hehe. I have not read Joely Shye before. But I am lovin this book. If I don't stop reading tho I am going to end up w/ a headache lol.

4 books shy of my monthly challenge (not counting the 2 I am CR)

message 177: by Yz the Whyz (new)

434780 Lori,

So far, I've read 4 books in the Psy/Changeling series, and I love all of them.

message 176: by Moderatrix Lori (new)

1339156 I'm reading Visions of Heat and loving it, of course. I just love the pairing of the unemotional with the uber-emotional. So good! I still have two books left in this challenge so I'm going to try and finish them this week but it's going to be close.

message 175: by Yz the Whyz (new)

434780 Okay, I'm feeling bleary-eyed at work, because I stayed up until 3 am to finish Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione. I just can't seem to put it down, and I really enjoyed Eidolon and Tayla's story. Definitely will continue this series.

Will continue Witchling by Yasmine Galehorn, and hope I will finish it before the end of February, since it's a challenge book.

message 174: by Amy (new)

Nophoto-f-25x33 I'm reading 'Outlander' by Diana Gabaldon. So far, I like it. The book is kinda intimidate me being 600+ pages. :) But I love the sense of humor in the book and the story line. It did make me LOL.

message 173: by Nikki (new)

1120281 I'm reading Seduce Me at Sunrise. It is my Feb. pick for a book with a red cover.

message 172: by Tiffany (new)

1378991 I'm reading The Pagan Stone by Nora Roberts.

message 171: by Moderatrix Lori (new)

1339156 I'm reading Dark Protector which was my Feb. pick from someone else's bookshelf. I've only just started it but I think I'm going to like it. This is the first in a series so hopefully I'll like it enough to move on to the rest of the books. Although I need another series like I need a hole in the head...

message 170: by Yz the Whyz (new)

434780 Kenjii,

I love Caressed by Ice. It shows an author's talent when she can make an icy, unemotional hero scorchingly hot. I'm sure you will enjoy the book.

message 169: by Kenjii (new)

1125077 Yz: I just got Caressed by Ice after I dunno HOW many months on my PBS WL. So I am anxious to finish one of my challenge reads and start that =) Nalini Singh ranks up there with Sherrilyn Kenyon as my most liked PNR writers.

message 168: by Yz the Whyz (last edited Mar 13, 2009 04:03AM) (new)

434780 Finished Mine to Possess by Nalini Singh's last night. Another solid work from her Psy/Changeling series. I've included the next books in my challenge for next month, so I'm looking forward to more of this series.

Started my Pick-it-for-me Challenge book, You Slay Me by Katie MacAllister. So far, I having a hard time putting to book down, in order to get some other stuff done in the house. Just the right amount of lightness and mystery, plus a hot sexy dragon. Just loving it.

Also, still listening to Touch the Dark by Karen Chance. Not entirely sure, if I'm liking th story or tolerating it just because I like the narrator's voice. Somehow I can't seem to gather enough sympathy for Cassie's situation, and the possession of other people's bodies weirds me out.

message 167: by Kenjii (new)

1125077 I read DARK LOVER by J R Ward when I got up this morning. Then later I will read WORKING FOR THE DEVIL by Lilith Staintcrow. I will have 4 books done hopefully by Mon or Tues next week.

I don't have a TV in my room and that helps. I am less distracted (less urge to flip it to Discovery, ha!). So I get alot more reading done.

message 166: by Jodz (new)

1454271 I liked blake and brenna, but i'd have to say my fav is Cullen & Lusahn =)

message 165: by Sarah (new)

279845 Ooh, Jodz! I love the Paladins series! Do you have a favorite? I sort of liked Blake best, since he was so close to the edge, but I also liked Barak's story.

I usually try to read the book before the movie. (I do that with the kids to get them to read books. The movie is the reward.) For some movies I've already seen, I didn't realize it was a book first - like Forrest Gump. So now curious to go back and read the book, and it's sequel. I am enjoying Pride & Prejudice now that I've seen the movie. The language of the book at times is hard but knowing the plot makes it easier.

message 163: by Jodz (new)

1454271 I just finished veil of midnight.

About to start Darkness unknown - The newest in the paladins series =)

Interesting approach.

I don't remember what came first in my case, the movie(there are at least 2 good ones right now) or the book... I think the book, but you know what? It doesn't matter, it's the kind of story I can go over again and again.

Since I found the language difficult, someone suggested to me to watch the movie first, instead of waiting til after I read the book. I loved the movie and am now enjoying the book more.

Lori, you have tremendous self-controlled. When I finished 'Half Way to the Grave', I have to start 'One Foot to the Grave' right away. :)

message 159: by Amy (new)

Nophoto-f-25x33 I'm reading Odd Thomas and Pride&Prejudice right now.

I haven't had time to really sit down and read Odd Thomas but so far it's interesting.

Pride & Prejudice is my 2nd attempt and this time I think I get a hang of the book and start to enjoy it more.

message 158: by Nichole (new)

74998 No, it's not YA, though it's pretty clean and would be appropriate for younger readers, I think.
But no, not YA.

message 157: by Moderatrix Lori (last edited Feb 19, 2009 12:17PM) (new)

1339156 Just finished Halfway to the Grave. Wow...that was a great book. Hated the way it ended but I know there will be more Bones in the next book so I really, really hope I can work it into March's challenge...hint...hint.

Next I'm starting Claiming the Courtesan which is the book picked for me in the "Pick It For Me" challenge. I really wanted to make sure that I got this one read this month and am looking forward to it. I still have so many good books on my list for this month it's very hard to decide which to read next.

One of the books on my list, Moon Called by Patricia Briggs, was in the YA section of my library. Is this really a YA book?

message 156: by Yz the Whyz (new)

434780 Started reading Mine to Possess by Nalini Singh last night, and once again, she has me engrossed from the first paragraph. It's books like these that makes me hate going to work the next day...Oh, well, will try to get a few pages in during lunch break.

message 155: by Kenjii (new)

1125077 I read PLEASURE UNBOUND last night. Goodness! I am so loving this book. I am glad Wraith and Shade are interesting characters. Their stories will be fun to read as well.

I wrote 9 more pages free-hand of a story I was editing. That came out of nowhere and I like the places this is headed =)

I will finish my required reading then probably read the horror book I was enjoying last week. RISEN by J Knight.

1768864 Just started
The Bikini Diaries

message 152: by Jodz (new)

1454271 I'm about to start Veil of midnight #4 in Lara Adrians midnight breed series

message 151: by Sarah (new)

279845 Wicked Lovely is part of a series. The next one is called Ink Exchange, then later this year will be Fragile Eternity.

message 150: by Melissa (new)

325271 I'm reading Fool by Christopher Moore right now. It is absolutely brilliant. Moore is an amazing writer. I'm taking my time so I don't miss one word. This book is nothing like I've ever read. It's a sort of spoof on King Lear. The author's phrases are just amazing.

message 149: by Amy (new)

Nophoto-f-25x33 Tricia: I can't push it through. I put it down and picked up other books to read. I just don't see why I want to waste my time reading something that I don't enjoy. But I might pick it back up again if I have nothing else to read but for now.. it's on hold. :)

Jess: I might try it later when I don't have other books on my list. Maybe this kind of funny is not my style. I don't know. I have heard good things about this book that's why I want to try.

Jodz: I am the same boat. I like the previous two books in the Night Huntress series better. I think this one has less relationship between Bones and Cat. It seems like they are in crisis mode all the time. I hope the next one we will see more of their intimate time together.

I just finished 'Wicked Lovely' last night.. What a great book! I love it! Not much of the romance scene but enough emotional romance that makes your heart aches. Is this book part of the series or it's a standalone book?

Next on my list is either The Odd Thomas series or Love the One You're With. I like to alternate between PNR and Chick-Lit. :)

message 148: by Sarah (new)

279845 I just started Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian. I like it so far and have high hopes for the series.

message 147: by Jodz (new)

1454271 Kenji, Sometimes its really hard reading something I don't like but im abit OCD esp when it comes to leaving things unfinished =S I read Robin Mckinley's sunshine last year and while there were many people who reccomended it to me and said good things. It was torture to get through it

message 146: by Jodz (new)

1454271 Jessi, I LOVED Jacquelyn franks series. They rest of the series (In my opinion) Is just as good if not better then Jacob. Gideon was my favourite.

I just finished At graves end...It was great, I love bones! I didnt'e enjoy it as much as I did the previous two but it was still an awesome read.

I'm going to start Kresley Coles - Kiss of a demon king tonight.

message 145: by Jessi (new)

1515844 I'm reading Jacob by Jacquelyn Frank. So far it is really good. I hope the rest of the series is as good.

message 144: by Jess (new)

901103 Amy - I had a hard time getting into the first book as well. But the next books after I liked much better. Maybe it will also get better for you.

message 143: by ♥Tricia♥ (new)

1869154 That is one of the many books I recently got in a huge lot of paranormalish books on ebay.

Am curious to see how it goes further on.. let me know after you get to 100! lol

message 142: by Amy (last edited Feb 17, 2009 01:12PM) (new)

Nophoto-f-25x33 I'm starting Undead and Unwed

So far, I am not digging it. To me, it seems the book tries very hard to be funny. I'm in chapter 3 so I will try at least 100 pages.

message 141: by Moderatrix Lori (new)

1339156 Just finished Kiss of a Demon King and I loved it. It didn't take long at all for me to get sucked back into that magical world Cole has created. Nichole, I know what you mean about fearing it would be really dark based on the end of that last book but it wasn't at all what I had expected. It wasn't my favorite in the series but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now I'm going to start Halfway to the Grave. I've heard so much about Bones, I can't wait to "meet" the yummy vampire.

message 140: by Amy (last edited Feb 17, 2009 08:23AM) (new)

Nophoto-f-25x33 I guess I'm in the romance cycle.. I just finished 'Baby Proof' and re-read 'Something Blue'. I just loved to read the part about Ethan.. I practically skiped the first half of the book to when Darcy was already in London. :)

Right now, I'm rereading City of Bones.. :) Gotta get ready for the City of Glass in Mar. I can't wait!

message 139: by Kenjii (last edited Mar 13, 2009 01:25PM) (new)

1125077 Jodz: I commend ur strength. But there was no WAY I could finish WITCHLING. I would start reading and I'd immediately start thinking about something else. My MIND did not want to process the words on the page. So that was saying something. I give a book a good enough amount. 20-50 pages sometimes more. I just have way to many other books (some that I actually might love=)) to struggle through the mire.

With my 2 days on the road from TX to CA I read more than I thought I would. I did not finish any books until I got settled, a bit, here in the new Hemet house.

Read:
Craving Beauty by Nalini Singh. Oh my goodness. If your having trouble getting a hold of the Psy-Changling series or would like to see a different side of Nalini's talent. Read this!

Knowing Caleb by Cameron Dane(ebook). I had been reading this a while. I just get books in that I want to read and this kept getting put back. I like that Cameron Dane created a different world within the same series for each brother (there's more but I have read 3 books). It does not get repetitive hearing about the brother's and their mates and the love for their mates etc. Demon's Moon was my first time reading Cameron Dane and I was eager to read more. The Hawkins Brothers' is definitely an addictive series.
